Currently,flight delays are common and they propagate from an originating flight to connecting flights,leading to large disruptions in the overall *** disruptions cause massive economic losses,affect airlines’reputations,waste passengers’time and money,and directly impact the *** study adopts a network science approach for solving the delay propagation problem by modeling and analyzing the flight schedules and historical operational data of an *** aim to determine the most disruptive airports,flights,flightconnections,and connection types in an airline *** elements are influential or critical entities in an airline *** are the elements that can either cause(airline schedules)or have caused(historical data)the largest disturbances in the *** airline can improve its operations by avoiding delays caused by the most disruptive *** proposed network science approach for disruptive element analysis was validated using a case study of an operating *** analysis indicates that potential disruptive elements in a schedule of an airline are also actual disruptive elements in the historical data and they should be considered to improve *** airline network exhibits small-world effects and delays can propagate to any part of the network with a minimum of four delayed ***,we observed that passenger connections between flights are the most disruptive connection ***,the proposed methodology provides a tool for airlines to build robust flight schedules that reduce delays and propagation.

Importance of Pharmacoeconomics in the Pharmacovigilance for National Health Systems

The objective of this study is to conduct a literature review to assess the importance of pharmacoeconomics in developing pharmacovigilance activities as a working tool to guide the process of decision making in the health field. The authors have done a literature review in order to find information about pharmacovigilance and their relationship with the pharmacoeconomics field, as an important element to assess the economic and health consequences because of the use of drugs in health systems. From this study, it can be found that pharmaeoeconomics applied to the pharmacovigilance activities should be considered as an aspect that contributes to improving the rational use of medicines, because it allows to compare the costs and consequences （beneficial and detrimental） with the use of different pharmacotberapeutic alternatives, in order to assess the negative effects due to ADRs （adverse drug reactions）, which directly increase the morbidity and mortality in patients, increase the direct health costs and indirectly decrease the productivity labors. It can be also concluded that pharmacoeconomics constitutes an important aspect to the pharmacovigilance activity in the health systems, in order to evaluate the negative impact of ADR, both on patient health as its economic implications, due to associated costs with these adverse effects.

Determination of Polyphenolic Compounds by Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography Coupled to Tandem Mass Spectrometry and Antioxidant Capacity of Spanish Subtropical Fruits

In an analysis of the seven types of subtropical fruits most consumed and produced in southern Spain, UPLC-ESI-MS/MS was used to quantify 14 phenolic species: five hydroxycinnamic acids, seven hydroxybenzoic acids and two flavonoids (quercetin and naringenin). In each case, in addition, antioxidant capacity was determined by FRAP, ABTS and DPPH. Of these fruits, carambola (or starfruit) presented the highest levels of phenolic compounds, cherimoya (custard apple) and kiwi were the richest in non-flavonoid phenolic compounds and papaya had the highest levels of the flavonoids studied. Higher mean values were recorded in home-grown fruits than in imported varieties by ABTS and DPPH methods. Persimmon’s antioxidant capacity was well above that of the other fruits, according to our analyses.

Variables of Suicidal Behavior in Tenerife Years 2011-2012: Proposals for the Prevention

Suicide is treated by society as a taboo subject despite it being the leading cause of unnatural death in Spain. The Tenerife Province is ranked 16th among the 52 Spanish provinces for its suicide rate. From 2007 till 2010, the rate increased from 2007 to 2008, then dropped in 2010. Slight rise occurred in suicide rates in 2010. This rate increased from 2007 to 2008, with a decrease of rate in 2010. Slight rise occurred in suicide rates in 2010. In 2013 the province saw 75 suicides per year. 90% - 98% of suicides are closely related to mental disease with the remaining 10% associated with different poor causes of the subject, according to bibliography. In this retrospective study, it has been found that the highest risk rests with men over 40 years of age in the central and southern part of the island. Among the forms of suicide reported, the most common is hanging followed by jumping from a height. It’s important to understand the reasons behind suicidal behavior from a psychosocial perspective, taking into account “unsafe” indicators and individual profiles. The lethal nature of a suicide attempt also depends on the form of suicide adopted and the possibility of a rescue. Specific protocols to prevent suicide should be promoted and discussed between health and social services.

School failure is a worrying phenomenon of the educational system that affects most sectors of the education regarding parents, teachers and students and covers education at all levels, from basic education levels to higher levels. One of the levels where there is a high incidence of this problem is in university education, where dropout rates at university are between 25% and 50% in the early formative years. Therefore, it is considered that this phenomenon of school failure and dropout must be addressed and treated from all support systems and services that merge at school, because there are many interests involved not only in the student who fails himself, but also in society in general. The objective of this survey is finding out the effects of anxiety and personal problems in ULPGC nursing students and the consequences that can bring in their academic performance. The results obtained show direct influence of variables such as attendance, studies organization, disappointment feelings, approaching dropout and others, however the hypotheses that were not met differentially, offer us relevant information, for better understanding and making decisions to prevent school failure at university.

Synthesis and Characterization of GaN Rods Prepared by Ammono-Chemical Vapor Deposition

GaN rods were deposited by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) onto sapphire (0 0 0 1) and amorphous quartz. The reactive Ga species in vapor the phase was formed with NH4Cl and gallium. The unidirectional growth was catalyzed with gold nanoparticles formed onto the substrate prior to the CVD reaction in order to induce a vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) mechanism. However, this method of synthesis seems to be influenced by other growth mechanisms which formed additional depositions of GaN with different morphology than the rods catalyzed by gold nanoparticles. The moieties of GaN that grew in the absence of gold formed branches in the rods or increased the lateral growth of rods resulting in larger diameters than the size of the gold particle that guided the growth.

Wavelet-based deconvolution of ultrasonic signals in nondestructive evaluation

In this paper, the inverse problem of reconstructing reflectivity function of a medium is examined within a blind deconvolution framework. The ultrasound pulse is estimated using higher-order statistics, and Wiener filter is used to obtain the ultrasonic reflectivity function through wavelet-based models. A new approach to the parameter estimation of the inverse filtering step is proposed in the nondestructive evaluation field, which is based on the theory of Fourier-Wavelet regularized deconvolution (ForWaRD). This new approach can be viewed as a solution to the open problem of adaptation of the ForWaRD framework to perform the convolution kernel estimation and deconvolution interdependently. The results indicate stable solutions of the esti- mated pulse and an improvement in the radio-frequency (RF) signal taking into account its signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and axial resolution. Simulations and experiments showed that the proposed approach can provide robust and optimal estimates of the reflectivity function.

This review provides a recompilation of the most important and recent strategies employed to increase the efficiency of metal-organic framework(MOF)-based systems toward the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution(PHE)reaction through specific strategies:tailoring the photocatalytic activity of bare MOFs and guest@MOF composites,formation of heterojunctions based on MOFs and various photocatalysts,and inorganic photocatalysts derived from *** to the data reported in this mini-review,the most effective strategy to improve the PHE of MOFs relies on modifying the linkers with new secondary building units(SBUs).Although several reviews have investigated the photocatalytic activity of MOFs from a general point of view,many of these studies relate this activity to the physicochemical and catalytic properties of ***,they did not consider the interactions between the components of the photocatalytic *** study highlights the effects of strength of the supramolecular interactions on the photocatalytic performance of bare and MOF-based materials during PHE.A thorough review and comparison of the results established that metal-nanoparticle@MOF composites have weak van der Waals forces between components,whereas heterostructures only interact with MOFs at the surface of bare *** material derivatives from MOFs,we found that pyrolysis destroyed some beneficial properties of MOFs for ***,we conclude that adding SBUs to organic linkers is the most efficient strategy to perform the PHE because the SBUs added to the MOFs promote synergy between the two materials through strong coordination bonds.

Clones identification of Sequoia sempervirens (D. Don) Endl. in Chile by using PCR-RAPDs technique

A protocol of polymerase chain reaction-random amplified polymorphic DNAs (PCR-RAPDs) was established to analyse the gene diversity and genotype identification for clones of Sequoia sempervirens (D. Don) Endl. in Chile. Ten (out of 34) clones from introduction trial located in Voipir-Villarrica, Chile, were studied. The PCR-RAPDs technique and a modified hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) protocol were used for genomic DNA extraction. The PCR tests were carried out employing 10-mer random primers. The amplification products were detected by electrophoresis in agarose gels. Forty nine polymorphic bands were obtained with the selected primers (BG04, BF07, BF12, BF13, and BF14) and were ordered according to their molecular size. The genetic similarity between samples was calculated by the Jaccard index and a dendrogram was con- structed using a cluster analysis of unweighted pair group method using arithmetic averages (UPGMA). Of the primers tested, 5 (out of 60) RAPD primers were selected for their reproducibility and high polymorphism. A total of 49 polymorphic RAPD bands were detected out of 252 bands. The genetic similarity analysis demonstrates an extensive genetic variability between the tested clones and the dendrogram depicts the genetic relationships among the clones, suggesting a geographic relationship. The results indicate that the RAPD markers permitted the identification of the assayed clones, although they are derived from the same geo- graphic origin.
