Background:Stargardt disease 1(STGD1;MIM 248200)is a monogenic form of autosomal recessive genetic disease caused by mutation in *** gene has a major role in hydrolyzing N-retinylidene-phosphatidylethanolamine to all-trans-retinal and *** purpose of this study is to identify the frequency of putative disease-causing mutations associated with Stargardt disease in a South Indian ***:A total of 28 clinically diagnosed Stargardt-like phenotype patients were recruited from south *** examination of all patients was carefully carried out by a retina specialist based on the stages of fundus imaging and ERG *** analysis of ABCA4 was performed for all patients using Sanger sequencing and clinical exome ***:This study identified disease-causing mutations in ABCA4 in 75%(21/28)of patients,7%(2/28)exhibited benign variants and 18%(5/28)were negative for the disease-causing ***:This is the first study describing the genetic association of ABCA4 disease-causing mutation in South Indian Stargardt 1 patients(STGD1).Our findings highlighted the presence of two novel missense mutations and an(in/del,single base pair deletion&splice variant)in ***,genetic heterogeneity in ABCA4 mutants requires a larger sample size to establish a true correlation with clinical phenotype.

Two-dimensional(2D)MXenes have emerged as an archetypical layered material combining the properties of an organic-inorganic hybrid offering materials sustainability for a range of *** surface functional groups and the associated chemical properties'tailorability through functionalizing MXenes with other materials as well as hydrophilicity and high conductivity enable them to be the best successor for various applications in textile industries,especially in the advancement of smart textiles and remediation of textile ***-based textile composite performs superb smartness in high-performance wearables as well as in the reduction of textile dyes from *** article critically reviews the significance of MXenes in two sectors of the textile ***,we review the improvement of textile raw materials such as fiber,yarn,and fabric by using MXene as electrodes in supercapacitors,pressure ***,we review advancements in the removal of dyes from textile wastewater utilizing MXene as an absorbent by the adsorption ***-based textiles demonstrated superior strength through the strong bonding between MXene and textile structures as well as the treatment of adsorbate by adsorbent(MXene in the adsorption process).We identify critical gaps for further research to enable their real-life applications.

Efficient Load Balancing with MANET Propagation of Least Common Multiple Routing and Fuzzy Logic

Mobile Ad Hoc Network(MANET)is a group of node that would interrelate among each other through onemulti-hop wireless link,wherein the nodes were able to move in response to sudden *** objective of MANET routing protocol is to quantify the route and compute the best path,but there exists a major decrease in energy efficiency,difficulty in hop selection,cost estimation,and efficient *** this paper,a novel least common multipath-based routing has been *** routing is used to find a multipath route from source and *** balancing is of primary importance in the mobile ad-hoc networks,due to limited bandwidth among the nodes and the initiator of the load routing discovery phase in the multipath routing *** logic for load balancing multipath routing in MANETs is proposed,which ensures the data packets are sent through a path with the variance of binary sets to predict the original transformation of the data to be received in the *** main objective of the proposed system is to reduce the routing time of data packets and avoid the traffic based on multipath source and *** experimental results have to verify 96.7%efficiency in balancing the load.

A new approach for accurate determination of particle sizes in microfluidic impedance cytometry

In microfluidic impedance cytometry,the change in impedance is recorded as an individual cell passes through a channel between electrodes deposited on its walls,and the particle size is inferred from the amplitude of the impedance signal using ***,because the current density is nonuniform between electrodes of finite width,there could be an error in the particle size measurement because of uncertainty about the location of the particle in the channel cross ***,a correlation is developed relating the particle size to the signal amplitude and the velocity of the particle through the *** latter is inferred from the time interval between the two extrema in the impedance curve as the particle passes through a channel with cross-sectional dimensions of 50μm(width)×30μm(height)with two pairs of parallel facing *** change in impedance is predicted using 3D COMSOL finite-element simulations,and a theoretical correlation that is independent of particle size is formulated to correct the particle diameter for variations in the cross-sectional *** this correlation,the standard deviation in the experimental data is reduced by a factor of two to close to the standard deviation reported in the manufacturer specifications.

Effect of Dietary Administration of Lathyrus sativus Pulse on Intestinal Biochemical Parameters in Normal and Scorbutic Guinea Pigs

Objective In order to investigate that ascorbic acid deficiency is responcible for lathyrus toxicity, the effect of dietary feeding of lathyrus pulse in normal and scorbutic guinea pigs for 3 months, on intestinal biochemical parameters was undertaken. Methods The intestinal brush border membrane (BBM) marker and xenobiotic metabolising enzymes (XME) were assayed. Results Exposure to 80% lathyrus alone and in scorbutic conditions showed significant inhibition of alkaline phosphatase (28%-30%), sucrase (19%) and γ-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) (15%-27%) enzymes, while Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase was significantly inhibited (38%) in scorbutic plus lathyrus treated group. The phase I XME (AHH) remained unchanged while the phase II enzyme glutathione-S-tranferase (GST) was significantly decreased (20%-22%) in lathyrus and scorbutic plus lathyrus treated groups. Quinone reductase (QR) activity was found to be significantly decreased in lathyrus exposed group (20%). The intestinal biomarker contents including hexose (25%-34%) and phospholipids (20%-40%) were significantly reduced in lathyrus and scorbutic plus lathyrus exposed animals, while sialic acid showed a significant decrease (28%) in scorbutic plus lathyrus treated group. However, cholesterol levels were signifcantly enhanced (15%-28%) in lathyrus and scorbutic plus lathyrus treated animals. Conclusion The results indicate that oral feeding of lathyrus pulse to guinea pigs can alter BBM parameters as well as XME, which may result in the intestinal toxicity. Further, ascorbic acid deficiency could be one of the pre-disposing factors of lathyrus toxicity.

Optimization of Photovoltaic Reflector System for Indoor Energy Harvesting

This study proposes a solution for optimizing the distance between a solar module and reflector for an indoor energy harvesting *** is a process in which energy(ambient light)is captured and converted directly into *** a building,this energy could be used to supply power to wide range of portable equipment or offset other electrical energy usage and associated *** proposed reflector element was designed and tested in a real indoor environment to confirm its effectiveness.A distance⁃optimization method for the placement of a polycrystalline photovoltaic(PV)module and a mirror was described,and the performance characteristics of the system were investigated qualitatively through visual observation and quantitatively through measuring voltage and ampere *** solar PV system with a reflector element displayed a 10%increase in voltage when compared with that *** the distance between PV module and the reflector increased,the voltage and ampere reading decreased,thus the distance was optimized to gain maximum *** studies employing reflectors have also showed increases in voltage readings with different designs,suggesting that reflectors are economically viable optical elements that can boost the voltage output of a PV *** practice,the distance⁃optimized PV module can be placed in buildings with extended indoor lighting duration away from disrupting building activity.

The Power Factor Correction(PFC)in Switched Reluctance(SR)motor is discussed in this *** SR motors are applicable for multiple applications like electric vehicles,wind mills,machineries *** doubly salient structure of SR motor causes the occurrence of torque ripples,which affects the power factor of the *** improve the power quality,the power factor has to be corrected and the ripples have to be *** order to achieve these objectives,a novel power factor correction(PFC)method is proposed in this ***,the conventional Diode Bridge Rectifier(DBR)is replaced by a Bridgeless Hybrid Resonant(HR)converter,which assists in improvising the output in a wider *** converter is chosen because of having variety of beneficial measures including high *** converter’s output is fed to the SR motor by means of an asymmetric Bridge Resonant(BR)*** proposed converter operates in continuous mode of conduction with the switching frequency of 10 KHz.A hysteresis current controller and Proportional Integral(PI)controller are utilized for reducing the harmonics in the source current along with the regulation of output *** addition,the speed control of SR motor is accomplished by means of the Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA)assisted PI *** proposed methodology is effective for the control of unity power factor,torque and current *** Total Harmonic Distortion(THD)of the source current is also minimized,which suits the standard of International Electrotechnical Comission IEC *** this methodology,the power factor of 0.99 is achieved with 97%efficiency and 3.92%*** proposed methodology is validated in simulation by MATLAB and in hardware by FPGA Spartan 6E.

Correlation of Levels of Oncostatin M Cytokine in Crevicular Fluid and Serum in Periodontal Disease

Aim The aim of this study was to measure the level of Oncostatin M （OSM） a gp130 cytokine in the gingival crevicular fluid （GCF） and serum of chronic periodontitis patients and to find any correlation between them before and after periodontal therapy （scaling and root planing,SRP）. Methodology 60 subjects （age 25-50 years） were enrolled into three groups （n=20 per group）,group Ⅰ （healthy）,group Ⅱ （gingivitis） and group III （chronic periodontitis）. Group Ⅲ subjects were followed for 6-8 weeks after the initial periodontal therapy （SRP） as the group Ⅳ （after periodontal therapy）. Clinical parameters were assessed as gingival index （GI）,probing depth （PD）,clinical attachment level （CAL）,and radiographic evidence of bone loss. GCF and serum levels of OSM were measured by using Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay （ELISA）. Results It was found that mean OSM levels had been elevated in both the GCF and serum of chronic periodontitis subjects （726.65 ± 283.56 and 65.59 ± 12.37 pg·mL-1,res-pectively） and these levels were decreased proportionally after the periodontal therapy （95.50 ± 38.85 and 39.98 ± 16.69 pg·mL-1 respectively）. However,OSM was detected in GCF of healthy subjects （66.15 ± 28.10 pg·mL-1） and gingivitis-suffering subjects （128.33 ± 22.96 pg·mL-1） and was found as below the detectable limit （≈0.0 pg·mL-1） in the serum of same subjects. Significant correlation has been found between clinical parameters and GCF-serum levels of OSM. Conclusion Increased OSM level both in the GCF and serum,and the decreased levels after initial periodontal therapy （SRP） may suggest a use as an inflammatory bio-marker in the periodontal disease.
