Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in pediatric COVID-19 patients:a meta-analysis

Background We aimed to systematically review the clinical and laboratory features of patients with the multisystem inflam-matory syndrome in pediatrics diagnosed during the COVID-19 *** sources A literature search in Web of science,PubMed,scopus,and science Direct was made up to June 29,*** Analysis of 15 articles(318 COVID-19 patients)revealed that although many patients presented with the typical multisystem inflammatory syndrome in pediatrics,Kawasaki-like features as fever(82.4%),polymorphous maculopapular exanthema(63.7%),oral mucosal changes(58.1%),conjunctival injections(56.0%),edematous extremities(40.7%),and cervical lymphadenopathy(28.5%),atypical gastrointestinal(79.4%)and neurocognitive symptoms(31.8%)were also *** had elevated serum lactic acid dehydrogenase,D-dimer,C-reactive protein,procalcitonin,interleukin-6,troponin I levels,and *** 77.0%developed hypotension,and 68.1%went into shock,while 41.1%had acute kidney *** care was needed in 73.7%of cases;13.2%were intubated,and 37.9%required mechanical *** immunoglobulins and steroids were given in 87.7%and 56.9%of the patients,respectively,and anticoagulants were utilized in 67.0%.Pediatric patients were discharged after a hospital stay of 6.77 days on average(95%CI 4.93-8.6).Conclusions Recognizing the typical and atypical presentation of the multisystem inflammatory syndrome in pediatric COVID-19 patients has important implications in identifying children at *** cardiac and renal decompensation and early interventions in patients with multisystem inflammatory syndrome is critical to prevent further morbidity.

Breeding Enrichment of Genetic Variation of Grain Yield and Its Attributes in Bread Wheat under Drought stress and Well Irrigation

Drought stress(Ds)is one of the most critical environmental abiotic stresses for wheat production in the arid *** of high-yielding genotypes tolerant to Ds can play a significant role in mitigation the negative impacts associated with *** the present study,generation means analysis(GMA)was used to study the performance of two crosses under well irrigation(WI)and deficit irrigation[cross I(Line 44×shandweel-1)and cross II(Line 20×sakha 93)].significant differences were observed for days to heading(DH),days to maturity(DM),plant height(PH),spike length(sL),number of spikes per plant(Ns/P),number of grains per spike(NG/s),thousand-grain weight(TGW),grain yield per plant(GY/P),and proline content(PC)in the six populations of the two crosses within each irrigation *** II had early maturity and the highest PC,Ns/P,TGW,and GY/P regardless of the irrigation *** I showed positive significant relative heterosis and heterobeltiosis for GY/P under the two irrigation *** inheritance of characters of cross I revealed additive,dominant,and epistatic effects,which varied with trait and *** genetic effects predominated in DH,sL,and PC,while non-additive were found in DM,Ns/P,NG/s,and GY/***-sense heritability estimates(h^(2) n)were high for DH and PC,moderate to high for PH and sL,moderate for DM,NG/s,Ns/P,and TGW,and low for GY/*** on different drought indices the populations BC_(1),BC_(2),F_(1),and P1 of cross II and BC1 of cross I were more tolerant to drought ***,PC,TGW and DH can be used as selection indicators to improve wheat for drought tolerance in early generations and other yield components traits in late *** second cross(Line 20×sakha 93)shows promise and is of interest to a drought tolerance breeding program,where wheat breeders can use recombinant breeding strategies to construct desirable drought stress *** and path coefficient revealed that TGW and PC were the main

A translucent wooden substrate with long-lasting phosphorescence,high photostability and durability,tough surface,ultraviolet protection,high optical transmittance,and superhydrophobicity was *** long-lasting phosphorescent wooden substrate is able to continue emitting light for extended time ***-modified wood(LMW)was immobilized with a solution of epoxy resin(ER)and rare-earth doped aluminate(REDA)phosphor nanoparticles(NPs).For an improved dispersion of pigment,REDA was synthesized in a nanoscale particle size,and characterized by transmission electron microscopy(TEM)to indicate a particle size of 8-14 *** crystal structure of REDA nanoparticles was also proved by X-ray diffraction(XRD).For an improved production of long-persistent phosphorescent colo rless woods,REDA must be well-dispersed in MAA without *** and emissio n,as well as decay and lifetime spectra were *** morphologies of the wooden substrates with different ratios of REDA were investigated by scanning electron microscopy(sEM),X-ray fluorescence(XRF)analysis,Fourier transform infrared spectra(FT-IR),elemental mapping,and energy-dispersion Xray(EDXA).The phosphorescent woods show changes in color from colorless to green under ultraviolet(UV)irradiation,and to yellowish-green in the dark,as proved by the colorimetric parameters of the CIE Lab *** afterglow wood samples display an absorbance band at 365 nm and two phosphorescent bands at 431 and 520 *** UV shielding,photostability,and hydrophobicity were *** increasing REDA ratio,both static contact and slide angles are found to improve in the ranges of147.6°-163.6°and 9°-14°,*** long-lasting photoluminescence is optimized at a REDA ratio of 8%.The present strategy shows a large-scale production approach of multiple functional woods for many potential applications,such as smart glow in the dark windows and safety signs.
