Piráis a reading comprehension dataset focused on the ocean,the Brazilian coast,and climate change,built from a collection of scientific abstracts and reports on these *** dataset represents a versatile language resource,particularly useful for testing the ability of current machine learning models to acquire expert scientific *** its potential,a detailed set of baselines has not yet been developed for Pirá.By creating these baselines,researchers can more easily utilize Piráas a resource for testing machine learning models across a wide range of question answering *** this paper,we define six benchmarks over the Pirádataset,covering closed generative question answering,machine reading comprehension,information retrieval,open question answering,answer triggering,and multiple choice question *** part of this effort,we have also produced a curated version of the original dataset,where we fixed a number of grammar issues,repetitions,and other ***,the dataset has been extended in several new directions,so as to face the aforementioned benchmarks:translation of supporting texts from English into Portuguese,classification labels for answerability,automatic paraphrases of questions and answers,and multiple choice *** results described in this paper provide several points of reference for researchers interested in exploring the challenges provided by the Pirádataset.

Appropriate interaction between pantograph and catenary is imperative for smooth operation of electric *** heights of overhead lines to accommodate level crossings,overbridges,and tunnels pose significant challenges in maintaining consistent current collection performance as the pantograph aerodynamic profile,and thus aerodynamic load changes significantly with operational *** research aims to analyse the global flow characteristics and aerodynamic forces acting on individual components of an hSX pantograph operating in different configurations and orientations,such that the results can be combined with multibody simulations to obtain accurate dynamic insight into contact ***,computational fluid dynamics simulations are used to investigate the pantograph component loads in a representative setting,such as that of the recessed cavity on a Class 800 *** an aerodynamic perspective,this study indicates that the total drag force acting on non-fixed components of the pantograph is larger for the knuckle-leading orientation rather than the knuckle-trailing,although the difference between the two is found to reduce with increasing pantograph *** the aerodynamic loads acting on individual components with multibody tools allows for realistic dynamic insight into the pantograph *** results obtained show how considering aerodynamic forces enhance the realism of the models,leading to behaviour of the pantograph-catenary contact forces closely matching that seen in experimental tests.

machine Learning Approach for COVID-19 Detection on Twitter

Social networking services(SNSs)provide massive data that can be a very influential source of information during pandemic *** study shows that social media analysis can be used as a crisis detector(e.g.,understanding the sentiment of social media users regarding various pandemic outbreaks).The novel Coronavirus Disease-19(COVID-19),commonly known as coronavirus,has affected everyone worldwide in *** Twitter data have revealed the status of the COVID-19 outbreak in the most affected *** study focuses on identifying COVID-19 patients using tweets without requiring medical records to find the COVID-19 pandemic in Twitter messages(tweets).For this purpose,we propose herein an intelligent model using traditional machine learning-based approaches,such as support vector machine(SVm),logistic regression(LR),naïve Bayes(NB),random forest(RF),and decision tree(DT)with the help of the term frequency inverse document frequency(TF-IDF)to detect the COVID-19 pandemic in Twitter *** proposed intelligent traditional machine learning-based model classifies Twitter messages into four categories,namely,confirmed deaths,recovered,and *** the experimental analysis,the tweet data on the COVID-19 pandemic are analyzed to evaluate the results of traditional machine learning approaches.A benchmark dataset for COVID-19 on Twitter messages is developed and can be used for future research *** experiments show that the results of the proposed approach are promising in detecting the COVID-19 pandemic in Twitter messages with overall accuracy,precision,recall,and F1 score between 70%and 80%and the confusion matrix for machine learning approaches(i.e.,SVm,NB,LR,RF,and DT)with the TF-IDF feature extraction technique.

A hydrodynamic modelling of wave-activated bodies for wavelet marine regions

Recently, most wave energy research has targeted sea areas with high power density under extreme wave conditions for deployment. This trend often leads to higher energy costs for wave power plants. however, many marine areas with low power density, characterized by wavelet conditions and less destructive forces than extreme wave conditions, remain underexplored. Therefore, this study aimed to propose a wave-activated body model for sea regions with wavelet conditions. The wave-activated body design process encompassed site selection, parameter determination, geometry design, comparison and performance evaluation using the ANSYS (R) AQWA model. The results indicated that the proposed device achieved the desired heave motion, with an amplitude range of 1.2 to -2.5 m, validating its potential for deployment in marine regions with wavelet conditions. Notably, while the proposed design is optimized for wavelet conditions, it was found to have potential limitations in extreme wave environments. This observation emphasizes the challenge of formulating a generalized design suitable for both conditions. Consequently, it is pivotal for wave-activated body designs to be customized based on the specific ocean conditions they target, underscoring the need for specialized designs of wave energy converters that consider the unique wave characteristics of their deployment sites. A wave-activated body is designed for energy generation in ocean regions with wavelet conditions. hydrodynamic modelling is carried out for two locations with different wave characteristics to determine the optimum conditions for deployment. The vorticity analysis technique was applied to measure the different lithological units,such as schist,metagranite and metavolcano-sedimentary rocks,which are present in the halaban *** work aims to interpret the relationship between the different lithologies and the tectonic setting,in order to elucidate the nature of kinematic analysis in the halaban *** kinematic analyses were applied to feldspar porphyroclasts,quartz and hornblende for twenty-six *** kinematic vorticity number(Wm)for deformed rocks in the study area ranged from~0.6 to *** direction of the long axes for finite strain data(X axes)revealed a WNW trend with shallow *** direction of the short axes for finite strain data(Z axes)were represented by vertical with associated horizontal *** results of the kinematic vorticity and strain analyses are characterized by simple shear with different degrees of deformation in the halaban ***,our finite strain data shows no significant volume change during *** subhorizontal foliation was synchronized with thrusting and ***,throughout the overlying nappes,the same attitudes of tectonic contacts are observable,the nappes in the orogens being formed from simple shear deformation.

Salinity is a major abiotic stress that hinders plant development and productivity and influences agricultural *** priming is a technique used to boost germination and seedling growth under abiotic stress.A pot experiment was conducted to evaluate the impact of seed priming with potassium nitrate(KNO_(3))at various levels(0%,0.50%,1.00%and 1.50%)under salt stress(0,75,100 mm NaCl)on two maize verities(mNh360 and 30T60)for the growth,development and metabolic attributes results revealed that in maize variety mNh360,KNO_(3)priming’s significantly enhanced growth parameters than in maize variety 30T60 under control and salt-stressed *** with KNO_(3)enhanced carotenoids and total chlorophyll in the 30T60 variety that protected the maize plants from salt ***,it was shown that priming with 1.00%KNO_(3)acts as safeguarded to protect them from oxidative damage by salt stress minimizing reactive oxygen species(ROS)formation through increased levels of malondialdehyde(mDA),catalase(CAT),peroxidase(POD),ascorbate peroxidase(APX),and total soluble *** findings of the present study confirm that the use of the KNO_(3)seed priming technique is a lowcost,environmentally friendly technique for mitigating adverse impacts of salt stress in maize crops by activating the antioxidant defense system and improving chlorophyll and osmolyte contents.

Growing evidences indicate that dysfunction of autophagy contributes to the disease pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(alS)and frontotemporal dementia(FTD),two neurodegenerative *** GGGGCC·GGCCCC repeat RNA expansion in chromosome 9 open reading frame 72(C9orf72)is the most genetic cause of both.alS and *** to the previous studies,GGGGCC·GGCCCC repeat undergoes the unconventional repeat-associated non-ATG translation,which produces dipeptide repeat(DPR)*** there is a growing understanding that C9orf72 DPRs have a strong ability to harm neurons and induce C9orf72-linked alS/FTD,whether these DPRs can affect autophagy remains *** the present study,we find that poly-GR and poly-PR,two arginine-containing DPRs which display the most cytotoxic properties according to the previous studies,strongly inhibit starvation-induced ***,our data indicate that arginine-rich DPRs enhance the interaction between BCL2 and BECN1/Beclin 1 by inhibiting BCL2 phosphorylation,therefore they can impair autophagic clearance of neurodegenerative disease-associated protein aggregates under starvation condition in ***,our study not only highlights the role of C9orf72 DPR in autophagy dysfunction,but also provides novel insight that pharmacological intervention of autophagy using SW063058,a small molecule compound that can disrupt the interaction between BECN1 and BCL2,may reduce C9orf72 DPR-induced neurotoxicity.

Preliminary Application of high-Frequency Ultrasound in the Differentiation of Pemphigus and Bullous Pemphigoid: An Observational Study

Objective: Ultrasonography is a diagnostic imaging technique used to visualize subcutaneous body structures for identification of possible pathologies. In this study, we aimed to explore the clinical significance of high-frequency ultrasound in differentiating the location of blisters between pemphigus and bullous pemphigoid. methods: Eighteen patients were recruited in Department of Dermatology, Zhongda hospital from 2020 to 2021 and divided into a pemphigus group (n = 8) and a bullous pemphigoid group (n = 10) according to the diagnostic criteria for each. Ultrasonographic images were collected using a 50-mhz high-frequency ultrasound system. The indexes of ultrasonic evaluation were the layer (epidermis or dermis), size, shape, internal echo, and boundary of the blister. Categorical variables are expressed as n (%), and differences were compared using Fisher's exact test. Results: The ultrasonographic images in the pemphigus group showed an intraepidermal semi-arc or irregular anechoic or hypoechoic areas. The inferior borders were situated above the characteristic thin linear hyperechoic bands of the epidermis. A linear hypoechoic band was present at the dermoepidermal junction in some cases. In the ultrasonographic images of the bullous pemphigoid group, the linear hyperechoic bands of the epidermis were continuous and intact. An oval fluid anechoic area (subepidermal blister) was present immediately below the bands. The location of the blisters in the ultrasonographic images was significantly different between the 2 groups (P high-frequency ultrasound can be used as an auxiliary means to differentiate the location of blisters between pemphigus and bullous pemphigoid. © 2022 hospital for Skin Diseases (Institute of Dermatology), Chinese Academy of medical Sciences, and Chinese medical Association, published by Wolters Kluwer, Inc.

Norovirus(NoV)infection is a major cause of gastroenteritis *** virus poses great challenges in developing vaccines with broad immune protection due to its genetic and antigenic *** date,there are no approved NoV vaccines for clinical ***,we aimed to develop a broad-acting quadrivalent NoV vaccine based on a chimpanzee adenovirus vector,AdC68,carrying the major capsid protein(VP1)of noroviral GI and GII *** to intramuscular(i.m.),intranasal(i.n.),or other prime-boost immunization regimens(i.m.t i.m.,i.m.t i.n.,i.n.t i.m.),AdC68-GI.1-GII.3(E1)-GII.4-GII.17(E3),administered via i.n.t *** higher titers of serum IgG antibodies and higher IgA antibodies in bronch.alveolar lavage fluid(BalF)and saliva against the four homologous VP1s in *** also significantly stimulated the production of blocking antibodies against the four *** response to re-stimulation with virus-like particles(VLP)-GI.1,VLP-GII.3,VLP-GII.4,and VLP-GII.17,the quadrivalent vaccine administered according to the i.n.t *** effectively triggered specific cell-mediated immune responses,primarily characterized by IFN-γ***,the preparation of this novel quadrivalent NoV vaccine requires only a single recombinant adenovirus to provide broad preventive immunity against the major GI/GII epidemic strains,making it a promising vaccine candidate for further development.
