Offshore hig.-g.ade limemud resources of west coast of India:Economic potential and industrial applications

Limestone is one of the essential raw materials in the cement,paint,steel,ceramic,g.ass,chemical,pharmaceutical,paper,and fertilizer *** India,only 8%of the limestone resources are placed under the reserve categ.ry,of which 97%is of cement ***,India depends on imports to bridg. the demand‐supply g.p of steel,blast furnace,and chemical‐g.ade *** of g.olog.cal Survey of India(g.I)to locate alternate sources for limestone led to the discovery of enormous quantities of carbonate minerals called limemud from the continental shelf marg.n of the west coast of *** carried out systematic studies to explore the nature of the disposition,quality,quantity,and suitability of the offshore limemud for various industrial applications.A preliminary estimate of resources using.hig.‐resolution subbottom profiling.and sediment core sample studies established the occurrence of more than 172 billion tonnes of hig.‐g.ade(The content of CaCO3 is g.eater than 80 wt%)limemud in 0.4–28.0m thick stratified sediment layers spread over an area of 18000 ***,physical,mineralog.cal,beneficiation,and ag.lomeration studies found the offshore limemud as a potential replacement for limestone in the cement,filler,blast furnace,steel melting.shop,lime production,paint,and g.ade‐I steel *** assessment of mining.and transportation costs indicates that the offshore limemud(USD 5–6/ton)is more cost‐effective than that imported from other countries(USD16‐18/ton).With several advantag.ous factors like low impurity,mode of occurrence in overburden‐free stratified form,fine‐g.ained slurry nature,and shallow water depth,sustainable mining.of offshore limemud could be a future reality with controllable technolog.cal,economic,and environmental challeng.s.

Marg.nal short-period contact binaries are important to understand as they pose a different physical scenario than the predicted theoretical model based on the thermal relaxation oscillation mechanism due to their shallow deg.ee of *** we present the optical and X-ray studies of a contact binary source RW Dor using.the Transiting.Exoplanet Survey Satellite(TESS)and XMM-Newton *** the first time we report the varying.O'Connell effect and explain the asymmetry with a spot *** on the new times of minima,we make a robust estimate of the orbital period of the third body at 47.01~0.52 yr with an eccentricity e=*** show that the period-decreasing.trend observed in O-C variation can be explained by both conservative mass transfer from primary to secondary and AML via stellar *** X-ray luminosity exhibited by RW Dor did not vary sig.ificantly on three different occasions and was found to be about 3.34×10~(29)erg.s~(-1).Assuming.that the quiescent X-ray emission is emitted from an undisturbed loop structure,the loop size is estimated to be 0.6-1×10~(10)cm which is≤Alfvén radius r_A~8×10~(10)cm.

Lutein is a nutraceutical compound that promotes human eye health and prevents neurodeg.nerative *** oral bioavailability of lutein is affected by both extrinsic and intrinsic factors in the *** hydrophobicity of the compound is further challeng.ng.its lipophilicity can be utilized to micellize and thereby improve its oral ***,available data on the effects of dietary fats on lutein micellization and permeation is limited and needs further *** this study,the influence of 17 carrier type edible oils on lutein micellization and permeation,was investig.ted in a simulated dig.stion *** overall effectiveness of these oils to permeate micellized lutein was attributed to its Fatty Acid(FA)*** 94%of the edible oils exhibited a positive influence on the permeation of micellized lutein,the micellization and permeation efficiency of these oils were sig.ificantly(p≤0.05)modulated by the saturation of FA in the order Saturated(SFA)>Mono-Unsaturated(MUFA)>Poly-Unsaturated(PUFA).The hig.est apparent permeability coefficient was exhibited by lutein micellized in g.ee(3.01×10^(-6) cm/s)and butter(2.93×10^(-6) cm/s),which was 1.28 and 1.24 folds hig.er than lutein alone(2.35×10^(-6) cm/s)*** MUFA rich olive oil and PUFA rich flaxseed oil improved lutein permeation by 1.19(2.80×10^(-6) cm/s)and 1.14 folds(2.69×10^(-6) cm/s)*** study is the first to report the influence of saturated fatty acids on micellization and permeation of ***,the outcomes of this study offer the field of lutein delivery systems a fresh perspective.

BACKg.OUND Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)cirrhosis is the second most common indication for liver transplantation(LT).The role of body mass index(BMI)on outcomes of NASH cirrhosis has been *** To compare the long.tudinal trajectories of patients with lean vs obese NASH cirrhosis,from listing.up to post-transplant,having.adjusted their BMI for *** We retrospectively reviewed all adult NASH patients listed for LT in our prog.am from 2012 to ***-g.ay Competing.Risk analyses and Cox Proportional-Hazard Models were performed to examine the cumulative incidence of transplant and survival outcomes *** Out of 265 NASH cirrhosis listed patients,176 were *** ag. was 61.0 years;46%were females.111 patients underwent *** robust patients had better waitlist survival[hazard ratio(HR):0.12;95%CI:0.05–0.29,Pg.er instantaneous rate of transplant(HR:5.71;95%CI:1.26–25.9,P=0.02).Lean NASH patients had a substantially hig.er risk of g.aft loss within 90 d post-LT(1.2%vs 13.8%,P=0.032)and death post-LT(2.4%vs 17.2%,P=0.029).1-3-and 5-year g.aft survival was poor for lean NASH(78.6%,77.3%and 41.7%vs 98.6%,96%and 85%respectively).Overall patient survival post-LT was sig.ificantly worse in lean NASH(HR:0.17;95%CI:0.03–0.86,P=0.0142)with 83%lower instantaneous rate of death in obese *** Althoug. lean NASH is considered to be more benig. than obese NASH,our study sug.ests a paradoxical correlation of lean NASH with waitlist outcomes,and g.aft and patient survival post-LT.

AIM To identify the key epig.netically modulated g.nes and pathways in HCC by performing.an integ.ative meta-analysis of all major, well-annotated and publicly available methylation datasets using.tools of network *** Pub Med and g.ne Expression Omnibus were searched for g.nome-wide DNA methylation datasets. Patient clinical and demog.aphic characteristics were obtained. DNA methylation data were integ.ated using.the Ing.nuity Pathway Analysis, a software packag. for visualizing.and analyzing.biolog.cal networks. Pathway enrichment analysis was performed using.IPA, which also provides literature-driven and computationallypredicted annotations for sig.ificant association of g.nes to curated molecular *** From an initial 928 potential abstracts, we identified and analyzed 11 elig.ble hig.-throug.put methylation datasets representing.354 patients. A sig.ificant proportion of studies did not provide concomitant clinical data. In the promoter reg.on, HIST1H2AJ and SPDYA were the most commonly methylated, whereas HRNBP3 g.ne was the most commonly hypomethylated. ESR1 and ERK were central g.nes in the principal networks. The pathways most associated with the frequently methylated g.nes were g.protein coupled receptor and c AMP-mediated sig.alling. CONCLUSION Using.an integ.ative network-based analysis approach of g.nome-wide DNA methylation data of both the promoter and body of g.nes, we identified g.protein coupled receptor sig.alling.as the most hig.ly associated with HCC. This encompasses a diverse rang. of cancer pathways, such as the PI3 K/Akt/m TOR and Ras/Raf/MAPK pathways, and is therefore supportive of previous literature on g.ne expression in HCC. However, there are novel targ.table g.nes such as HIST1H2 AJ that are epig.netically modified, sug.esting.their potential as biomarkers and for therapeutic targ.ting.of the HCC epig.nome.
