Expression detection plays a vital role to determine the patient’s condition in healthcare *** helps the monitoring teams to respond swiftly in case of *** to the lack of suitable methods,results are often compromised in an unconstrained environment because of pose,scale,occlusion and illumination variations in the image of the face of the patient.A novel patch-based multiple local binary patterns(LBP)feature extraction technique is proposed for analyzing human behavior using facial expression *** consists of three-patch[TPLBP]and four-patch LBPs[FPLBP]based feature engineering *** representation is encoded from local patch statistics using these *** and FPLBP capture information that is encoded to find likenesses between adjacent patches of pixels by using short bit strings contrary to pixel-based *** images are transformed into the frequency domain using a discrete cosine transform(DCT).Most discriminant features extracted from coded DCT images are combined to generate a feature *** vector machine(SVM),k-nearest neighbor(KNN),and Naïve Bayes(NB)are used for the classification of facial expressions using selected *** experimentation is performed to analyze human behavior by considering standard extended Cohn Kanade(CK+)and Oulu–CASIA *** demonstrate that the proposed methodology outperforms the other techniques used for comparison.

Mutagenicity of Wastewater Extracts from Pulp and Paper Industry

Wastewater samples were collected from pulp and paper mill located in Kashipur (India) and were extracted using dichloromethane (DCM), chloroform and hexane solvents (all were HPLC-grade). The extracts were assayed for their mutagenic potential using Ames Salmonella mutagenicity assay. TA98 strain was found to be the most responsive, in terms of induction factor (Mi) and slope (m) of the initial linear dose-response curve as determined by linear regression analysis up to the increasing doses indicating the presence of frame shift mutagens in the test samples. Mutagenicity of different extracts is arranged as follows: dichloromethane extracted water samples > hexane extracted water samples > chloroform extracted water samples. Hexane extract exhibited maximum mutagenic index of 13.0 and induction factor (Mi) 2.48 with TA98. The order of responsiveness based on the mutagenic index and induction factor for the test samples was in the following order: TA98 > TA97a > TA100 > TA102 > TA104. Our findings suggest that TA97a, TA98, TA100, TA102, TA104 were sensitive towards the wastewater extracts and showed considerable mutagenicity.

Effect of different concentration of fish oil in skim milk-egg yolk extenders on post-thawed semen qualities of Kalang swamp buffalo bull

Objective:To explore the effect of fish oil at different concentrations on post-thawed semen of Kalang swamp ***: A total of 4 Kalang swamp buffalo bulls with 3-5 years of age and weighed about 340-360 kg were slected. Semen was regularly collected from these buffalo bulls once a week by an artificial vagina. Fish oil was supplementary at the dosages of 0 mg (control), 50 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, and 200 mg to the extender (skim milk-egg yolk). Fresh, pre-freezing and frozen semen were thawed at 37℃ and evaluated for motility, viability, morphology, and plasma integrity of ***: The study results indicated that before freezing, supplementation of fish oil at the dose of 150 mg in the extender had significantly motility. And a significant (P<0.05) increase was observed in viability and motility of post-thawed semen at the dose of 150 mg fish oil, which was in difference with other treatment ***: Addition of 150 mg fish oil in the extender could be positive for the enhancement of the quality of post-thawed semen of Kalang swamp buffaloes.

High Resolution Computed Tomography Features of Third Wave of COVID-19 Pneumonia in Confirmed Cases

COVID-19 which is caused by its new type called SARS-CoV-2 is a viral disease predominantly involving the lungs. Objective: To investigate HRCT features of pulmonary disease in COVID-19 in Lahore, Pakistan. Methods: This is a prospective study that involved 127 COVID-19 positive patients (age 18 - 80 years, both genders) through non-probability sampling was conducted at the Radiology Department, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore, in 2021. All patients with RT-PCR positive underwent HRCT chest. All findings in HRCT chest were assessed. Confirmed patients had positive HRCT. Excluded situations are low quality of images irrespective of its reason, HRCT indications other than COVID-19 pneumonia, and patients who do not want to participate in the study Results: Considering the exclusion and inclusion criteria, totally 127 COVID-19 confirmed patients ranging age from 18 to 80 years with a mean age of 52 ± 18 years, took part in this study. The most important and common HRCT finding was the multilobar ground-glass pattern which was present in 95% of patients. Other findings including, crazy paving pattern, consolidation, air bronchogram, and bronchiectasis were present in 8.7%, 82%, 63%, and 37% of patients respectively. Pleural effusion seen in 21% patients. 16% of patients had mediastinal lymphadenopathy. Conclusion: In our study, the ground-glass pattern was found to be the most common and important HRCT finding in patients confirmed with COVID-19 pneumonia. This important HRCT pattern is mostly found to be in posterobasal and peripheral subpleural locations. Other than ground-glass pattern, bronchiectasis, and consolidation having the air bronchogram were also reported commonly.

The mixed micellization behavior of an amphiphilic antidepressant drug amitriptyline hydrochloride(AMT)in the presence of the conventional anionic surfactant sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate(AOT)was studied at five different temperatures and compositions by the conductometric *** critical micelle concentration(cmc)and critical micelle concentration at the ideal state(cmcid)values show mixed micelle formation between the components(i.e.,drug and AOT).The micellar mole fractions of the AOT(X1)values calculated using the Rubingh,Motomura,and Rodenas models show a higher contribution of AOT in the mixed *** interaction parameter(β)is negative at all temperatures and the compositions show attractive interactions between the *** activity coefficients(f1and f2)calculated using the different proposed models are always less than unity indicating non-ideality in the ***ΔGmΘ values were found to be negative for all the binary mixed ***,ΔHmΘ values for the pure drug as well as the drug-AOT mixed systems are negative at lower temperatures(293.15-303.15 K)and positive at higher temperatures(308.15 K and above).TheΔSmΘ values are positive at all temperatures but their magnitude was higher at T=308.15 K and *** excess free energy of mixing(ΔGex)determined using the different proposed models also explains the stability of the mixed micelles compared to the pure drug(AMT)and surfactant micelles.

Economic Cost of Community-Based Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition in a Rural District in Ghana

Background: The community based management of severe acute malnutrition (CMAM) was introduced in Ghana in 2008 to manage cases of severe acute malnutrition (SAM) recorded at the community level. This study estimated the economic cost of the CMAM programme for children under-five in the Agona west municipality of Ghana. Methods: A retrospective cross sectional study that used a cost analysis design was employed to estimate the economic cost of the programme from the societal perspective. Household cost data from caregivers were obtained using a semi-structured questionnaire. That of programme cost data was obtained from document reviews as well as the use of semi-structured questionnaires and subsequent discussions with key personnel of the Ghana Health Service, Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance and UNICEF. One and multi-way sensitivity analyses were conducted to test how sensitive the cost estimates are to certain variations in the cost profiles. Results: The economic household cost of CMAM was estimated as $1905.32 ($47.63 per household) of which 79% was attributed to direct cost while the remaining 21% made up indirect cost. Programme economic cost of CMAM was estimated as $27633.5 (96% recurrent and 4% capital), with refresher training constituting majority of the cost (34%). The constituents of the total economic cost of the programme, estimated as $32214.56 are programme cost (86%), household costs (6%) and community volunteer cost (8%). Therefore, the economic cost of treating one SAM case using the CMAM protocol was estimated as $805.36. Conclusion: Although CMAM has proven to be an effective tool for the management of SAM, its associated costs are quite enormous when coverage levels (geographic) are high yet small number of cases are detected and treated. Therefore, it is prudent to implement several cost saving strategies such as a reduction in the number of days spent on trainings in order to reduce these costs.

[目的]采用meta分析的方法评价剥脱性点阵激光与非剥脱性点阵激光治疗皮肤光老化的有效性和安全性。[方法]计算机检索 PUBMED、ELSILVER、OVID、Cochrane library 4个综合性文献数据库中有关剥脱性点阵激光和/或非剥脱性点阵激光治疗光老化的研究,检索时间为各数据库建库到2019年1月。由两名研究人员单独对检索数据及研究质量进行评估,并采用Ri386 3.5.2进行荟萃分析。[结果]有19篇研究文献满足纳入条件,共包含387个病例,在纳入的所有研究文献中,剥脱性点阵激光治疗组的不良反应显著高于非剥脱性点阵激光组要给出具体的数据。由于较高风险和较长停工时间,剥脱性点阵激光常被用于治疗老年患者的重度光老化。本研究的局限性在于应用点阵激光治疗皮肤光老化的文献报道数量少。[结论]剥脱性点阵激光和非剥脱性点阵激光对光老化皮肤有不同程度的机械作用、生物学效应和美容效果。这两种方法治疗紫外线辐射所致的光老化均有良好效果。在治疗光老化患者时,根据皮肤类型和拟治疗区光老化严重程度评估预期效果很重要。剥脱性点阵激光的临床疗效在一定程度上优于非剥脱性点阵激光,但非剥脱性点阵激光治疗恢复较快,不良反应较少。

Interaction of ciprofloxacin hydrochloride with sodium dodecyl sulfate in aqueous/electrolytes solution at different temperatures and compositions

Interactions of ciprofloxacin hydrochloride(CPFH)with sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)were investigated by conductivity measurement in H2O/electrolyte solutions(NaCl,Na2SO4&Na3PO4)over 298.15–318.15 K temperature range(with 5 K interval)considering the human body *** all cases,two critical micelle concentrations(c*)were observed which are increased in the presence of drug and decreased in the presence of salts enunciating the presence of interaction amongst the studied ***(CPFH+SDS)system in the presence of salt,the c*values at 303.15 K and I=0.50 mmol·kg^-1 followed the order:CNaCl>CNa2SO4>***ΔG1,m0 andΔG2,m0values are found to be negative for all systems that show that the micellization process is thermodynamically ***(CPFH+SDS)system in water,theΔHm0&ΔSm0 values reveal that the micellization processes is both entropy dominated in almost all *** the occurrence of electrolytes,ΔHm0 andΔSm0 values indicate that micellization processes are both entropy&enthalpy restricted at upper temperature but it becomes totally entropy dependent at higher *** higher positiveΔSm0 values indicate the enhanced hydrophobic interaction in presence of *** enthalpy-entropy compensation was determined from the linear relationship betweenΔHm0 andΔSm0 values in every *** transfer energies as well as compensation temperature and intrinsic enthalpy were also evaluated and the behaviors were comparable to other biological system.

Qualification of Atomic Absorption Spectrometer in Prospective View of Pharmaceutical Analysis

AAS was qualified as per pharmacopoeia requirements. Copper, manganese, mercury and cadmium hallow cathode lamps were used for qualification purposes. Design qualification and installation qualification met the criteria of user requirements. Wavelength accuracy and reproducibility, resolution and baseline stability are in compliance with user requirements. Characteristics concentration or sensitivity, detection limit and characteristics mass were performed as a part of operational qualification which is 0.062 μg/mL, 0.00354 μg/mL, 1.41 pg respectively. Results of % RSD for precision study is 0.352 and 0.487 for flame and graphite furnace mode respectively fulfilled criteria of qualification. Performance qualification results of 20 consecutive days demonstrate the predetermined specification. Analytical instrument qualification and method validation relationship is also described by assay performed on haemodialysis concentrate. Good precision (2) greater than 0.9997 for potassium, magnesium and calcium linear curves, lower detection limits for all three ingredients and robust assay data as a part of validation studies conform the qualified AAS for its intended application.

About the Change in Air Pressure in the Pipeline during the Pneumatic Transportation of Cotton

The article is devoted to the study of the issues of determining the patterns of changes in air pressure along the length of a pneumatic transmission pipeline for raw cotton at different flow parameters and different pipeline diameters. Theoretical studies have proved the reduction of static and total pressure along the line of pneumatic cotton transportation. The dependence of the pressure change on the diameter of the transport line and the aerodynamic drag of the pipeline is obtained. The results obtained are recommended for use in the design of raw cotton pneumatic transport systems.
