Schiff base ligand （HL） derived from 4-hexylaniline with isatin （1H-indole-2,3-dione） and its complexes with Cu（Ⅱ）, ni（Ⅱ） were prepared and characterized by analytical, spectroscopic （IR, UV-Vis, Mass） techniques, electrical conductivity, magnetic and thermal measurements. The crystal and molecular structure of [Cu（HL）2Cl2] was determined by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study. The molecular structure of the title compound has an inversion center on the Cu atom.

Anaerobic digestion(AD)as a waste management method has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while pro-ducing renewable energy,making it a viable option for managing the organic fraction of municipal solid waste(OFMSW).OFMSW characteristics can vary depending on factors such as waste source,composition and separation *** charac-teristics of OFMSW are critical for analyzing and monitoring the AD process to optimize biogas *** this study,the waste composition and physicochemical characteristics of the mechanically separated OFMSW(ms-OFMSW)were determined at a full-scale AD plant in *** ms-OFMSW samples were collected monthly after mechanical separation and were subsequently sent to the anaerobic *** composition and physicochemical characteristics of the samples were determined by manual *** results showed that the majority of the ms-OFMSW(76.45%±1.71%)was organic,while 8.99%±1.56%was recyclable and 14.56%±1.69%was *** of environmental benefits for the recyclable materials was determined using a free online tool provided by Environmental Protection ***(399.7 GJ)and plas-tics(403.7 GJ)both saved nearly the same amount of energy while metals saved the most water(421.8 m3),with the greatest positive *** benefits ranged from 3 tons to 40 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent for each waste *** findings suggest that efficient pre-separation units can improve the anaerobic digestibility of OFMSW,while also providing greater environmental benefits by preventing recyclable waste from the anaerobic *** addition to encouraging source separation applications,this study demonstrates the need for improved technologies to separate OFMSW from mixed MSW.

Low Cost Scan Test by Test Correlation Utilization

Background:The impact of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic on patient decision making remains *** study aimed to investigate the effect of the pandemic on treatment preferences of patients with proximal ureteral stones.Materials and methods:Retrospective data regarding treatment preferences of patients diagnosed with symptomatic proximal ure-teral stones between July 2018 and november 2021 at a single center were *** from 493 patients were analyzed according to 2 groups,including patients diagnosed during the COVID-19 pandemic and those diagnosed during an equivalent period of time be-fore the pandemic.Results:Preference for conservative treatment increased during the COVID-19 pandemic(p=0.009).In patients who had previously undergone shock wave lithotripsy(SWL),the preference for SWL decreased and the preference for conservative treatment increased during the COVID-19 pandemic(p=0.042).Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed a significant correlation between a preference for conservative treatment during the pandemic and no prior spontaneous stone passage(p=0.003;odds ratio[OR],2.48;95％con-fidence interval[CI],1.45-4.23),no hydronephrosis(p=0.035;OR,3.57;95％Cl,1.34-9.49),and a visual analog scale score of 4 or less(p=0.018;OR,1.97;95％Cl,1.15-3.38).Conclusions:A significant increase in the preference for conservative treatment was observed among patients diagnosed during the pandemic,and patients with a history of SWL demonstrated a preference shift from SWL to conservative treatment.

Scan-based testing methodologies remedy the testability problem of sequential circuits; yet they suffer from prolonged test time and excessive test power due to numerous shift operations. The correlation among test data along with the high density of the unspecified bits in test data enables the utilization of the existing test data in the scan chain for the generation of the subsequent test stimulus, thus reducing both test time and test data volume. We propose a pair of scan approaches in this paper; in the first approach, a test stimulus partially consists of the preceding stimulus, while in the second approach, a test stimulus partially consists of the preceding test response bits. Both proposed scan-based test schemes access only a subset of scan cells for loading the subsequent test stimulus while freezing the remaining scan cells with the preceding test data, thus decreasing scan chain transitions during shift operations. The proposed scan architecture is coupled with test data manipulation techniques which include test stimuli ordering and partitioning algorithms, boosting test time reductions. The experimental results confirm that test time reductions exceeding 97%, and test power reductions exceeding 99% can be achieved by the proposed scan-based testing methodologies on larger ISCAS89 benchmark circuits.

Recent developments in computational sciences and computer modeling have allowed emergency preparedness exercises to include simulation models as supporting tools. These simulation models are generally built for predicting temporal and geographic patterns of disease spread. However sole use of simulation models in exercise design falls short in terms of incorporating policy decision makers＇ preferences into decision-making processes. In this paper, a general framework for exercising public health preparedness plans with a decision support system is presented to integrate estimation of key epidemiological parameters with a system dynamics model of an outbreak. A multi-criteria decision making framework, an Analytical Hierarchy Process model, is then developed and integrated with the simulation model to help public health policy makers prioritize their response goals and evaluate mitigation strategies in a table-top exercise environment.

Gaucher disease (GD) is an autosomal recessive disease which if undiagnosed or diagnosed late results in devastating complications. Because of the heterozygous nature of GD, there is a wide spectrum of clinical presentation. Clinicians should be aware of this rare but potentially treatable disease in patients who present with unexplained organomegaly, anemia, massive splenomegaly, ascites and even cirrhosis of unknown origin. The treatment options for adult type GD include enzyme replacement treatment (ERT) and substrate reduction treatment (SRT) depending on the status of the patient. Future treatment options are gene therapy and "smart molecules" which provide specifi c cure and additional treatment options. In this review, we present the key issues about GD and new developments that gastroenterologists should be aware of.

The thrombophilia which can be either congenital or acquired in adult life has major implications in the abdominal vessels. The resulting portal vein thrombosis, Budd-Chiari syndrome and mesenteric vein thrombosis have a variety of consequences ranging from acute abdomen to chronic hepatomegaly and even totally asymp- tomatic patient in whom the only finding is pancytopenia. The complications like esophageal varices, portal gastropathy, ascites, severe hypersplenism, liver failure requiring liver transplantation are well known. Interesting features of collateral venous circulation showing itself as pseudocholangiocarcinoma sign and its possible clinical reflection as cholestasis are also known from a long time. The management strategies for these complications of intraabdominal vessel thrombosis are not different from their counterpart which is cirrhotic portal hypertension, but the prognosis is unquestionably better in former cases. In this review we presented and discussed the abdominal venous thrombosis, etiology and the resulting clinical pictures. There are controversial issues both in nomenclature, and management including anticoagulation problems and follow up strategies. In light of the current knowledge, we discussed some controversial issues in literature and presented our experience and our proposals about this group of patients.

Idiopathic portal hypertension is one of the interesting causes of portal hypertension. Even in very developed medical centers, this disorder is still one of the most important misdiagnoses of clinical practice. To inexperienced physicians, presenting esophageal varices and upper gastrointestinal bleeding usually prompt an unfortunate diagnosis of cirrhosis. A heterogenous clinical presentation and progression of this disorder should be recognized by physicians, and management should be directed towards some specific problems confined to this disorder. Although a genetic basis and other factors are implicated in its pathogenesis, exact underlying mechanism(s) is (are) unknown. In this review, we discuss the heterogeneity of idiopathic portal hypertension, its etiopathogenesis, clinical presentation and management issues. With the expectation of an excellent prognosis, a practicing gastroenterologist should be aware that "not all varices mean cirrhosis".
