In this paper, we utilized the Jaulent-Miodek equation which is one of important models in particle physics and engineering. The exact traveling wave solutions for this equation “involving parameters” according to two different techniques are constructed. When these parameters are taken as special values, the solitary wave solutions are derived from it. A comparison between the obtained results using these two different methods with that obtained by previous authors is demonstrated.

In this study, the natural radionuclides in soil and sand have been measured by using high purity germanium (hPGe) detector. While, radon exhalation rate has been measured by Alpha GUARD. The data analysis is performed to determine 226Ra, 232Th, and 40K activity concentrations in addition to 222Rn exhalation rate. The values of radium equivalent activity (Raeq), external hazard index (hex), internal hazard index (hin), and absorbed dose rate were ranged from 46.46 to 124.16 Bq⋅kg−1, 0.07 to 0.33 Bq⋅kg−1, 0.09 to 0.42 Bq⋅kg−1, and 13.24 to 58.37 nGy⋅h−1 respectively in all samples. The area and mass exhalation rates were increased from 9.16 ±2.83 to 16.18 ±2.83 Bq⋅m−2⋅h−1 and 1.8 ±1.34 to 11.35 ±0.98 Bq⋅kg−1⋅h−1 respectively.

AIM： TO establish a cell culture system with longterm replication of hepatitis C virus （hCV） genome and expression of viral antigens in vitro. METhODS： hepG2 cell line was tested for its susceptibility to hCV by incubation with a serum from a patient with chronic hepatitis C. Cells and supernatant were harvested at various time points during the culture. Culture supernatant was tested for its ability to infect na＇ive cells. The presence of minus （antisense） RNA strand, and the detection of core and E1 antigens in cells were examined by RT-PCR and immunological techniques （flow cytometry and Western blot） respectively. RESULTS： The intracellular hCV RNA was first detected on d 3 after infection and then could be consistently detected in both cells and supernatant over a period of at least three months. The fresh cells could be infected with supernatant from cultured infected cells. Flow cytometric analysis showed surface and intracellular hCV antigen expression using in house made polyclonal antibodies （anti-core, and anti-E1）. Western blot analysis showed the expression of a cluster of immunogenic peptides at molecular weights extended between 31 and 45 kDa in an one month old culture of infected cells whereas this cluster was undetectable in uninfected hepG2 cells. CONCLUSION： hepG2 cell line is not only susceptible to hCV infection but also supports its replication in vitro. Expression of hCV structural proteins can be detected in infected hepG2 cells. These cells are also capable of shedding viral particles into culture media which in turn become infectious to uninfected cells.

Immunotherapy becomes a promising line of treatment for breast cancer(BC)however,its success rate is still ***:The study was designed to optimize the condition for producing an effective dendritic cell(DCs)based immunotherapy by using DCs and T lymphocytes together with tumor-inﬁltrating lymphocytes(TILs)and tumor-inﬁltrating DCs(TIDCs),treated with anti-PD1 and anti-CTLA4 monoclonal *** mixture of immune cells was co-cultured with autologous breast cancer cells(BCCs)isolated from 26 BC ***:There was a signiﬁcant upregulation of CD86 and CD83 on DCs(p=0.001 and 0.017,respectively),similarly upregulation of CD8,CD4 and CD103 on T cells(p=0.031,0.027,and 0.011,respectively).While there was a signiﬁcant downregulation of FOXP3 and combined ***8 expression on regulatory T cells(p=0.014 for both).Increased CD8/Foxp3 ratio(phere was a signiﬁcant increase in interferon-γ(IFN-γ,phydrogenase(LDh,p=0.02),and a signiﬁcant decrease in vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF,ph ligand 1(PDL-1)were downregulated in BCCs(ph),similarly cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4(CTLA4,p=0.02),Programmed cell death 1(PD-1,ph immune checkpoint inhibitors could produce a potent and effective BC ***,these data should be validated on an experimental animal model to be transferred to the clinical setting.

Objective:The aim of this study is to investigate the phytochemical and the long-term anti-neuropathic potentials of Crocus sativus cultivated in the University botanical garden,and explore its most bioactive compounds and their underlying mechanisms of ***:Phytochemical analysis and bio-guided isolation-procedures including RP-hPLC and1 h and13 C NMR utilizing biological models of diabetes,inflammation,and diabetic-neuropathy were *** saffron(S-RCED)and Spanish-saffron stigma(S-SP)alone or in combination with Camellia sinus(CS)were ***:The RP-hPLC analyses showed the presence of picrocrocin,crocin I,crocin II,crocin I’,crocin II’,and safranal(SAF)in both S-SP and S-RCED extracts with *** had been shown that SAF was the most bioactive-compound in Crocus *** S-SP and S-RCED possessed significant(Ph),subchronic(8 d)and chronic(8 weeks)models.S-RCED had been proven with more hypoglycemic potentials when compared to S-SP and SAF.S-SP,S-RCED,and SAF produced significant anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive activities against carrageenan-induced inflammatory,hyperalgesic and tactile diabetic-neuropathy models,respectively.S-SP,S-RCED,and SAF elevated serum catalase,reduced glutathione,and insulin serum levels,ameliorated lipid peroxidation and hb A1 c levels,and histopathologically regenerated the pancreatic *** with CS showed more significant efficacy than the single ***:The oxidative stress reduction,insulin secretagogue,and pancreatic beta-cells regeneration potentials might be responsible for the mechanism underlying the anti-diabetic,anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic neuropathy ***,the cultivated Crocus sativus might be clinically useful for protecting against many serious-disorders.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the wheat germ oil (WGO) and bone marrow transplantation (BMT) in boosting the immuno response and protecting from oxidative stress in irradiated rats. BM was given by intravenous injection to male rats, one hour post gamma irradiation at the dose level of 5 Gy. Rats were orally administrated with 54 mg/Kg body wt of wheat germ oil daily for 2 weeks before irradiation. After 14 days, results revealed that total body irradiation induced significant decreases in RBCs, WBCs and lymphocytes, as well as Glutathione (GSh) and zinc superoxide dismutase (Zn/SOD), splenocyte count, bone marrow lymphocyte count and viability. Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 2 (IL-2) also recorded significant decrease while interleukin 6 (IL-6) and lipid peroxidation marker malondialdehde (MDA) in serum and spleen were conversely elevated. In irradiated animals receiving BMT and WGO, values of MDA in serum and tissue were significantly depressed as compared with the irradiated group, while lymphocytes, bone marrow viability percentage, splenocytes percentage, IL-2, IL-6 and GSh were significantly elevated. The curative action of WGO enforcing significant innate response could trigger and augment adaptive immune response by BMT, thus protecting immune system from radiation induced damage as well as oxidative stress.

AIM To directly visualize helicobacter pylori(h. pylori) by the highly sensitive and specific technique of immunohistochemical staining in colonic tissue from patients newly diagnosed with ulcerative colitis(UC).METhODS Colonoscopic biopsies from thirty patients with newly diagnosed UC and thirty controls were stained with Giemsa stain and immunohistochemical stain for detection of h. pylori in the colonic tissue. Results were confirmed by testing h. pylori Ag in the stool then infected patients were randomized to receive either anti h. pylori treatment or *** Twelve/30(40%) of the UC patients were positive for h. pylori by Giemsa, and 17/30(56.6%) by immunohistochemistry stain. Among the control group 4/30(13.3%) and 6/30(20 %) were positive for h. pylori by Giemsa and immunohistochemistry staining respectively. h. pylori was significantly higher in UC than in controls(P = 0.04 and 0.007). All Giemsa positive patients and controls were positive by immunohistochemical stain. Four cases of the control group positive for h. pylori also showed microscopic features consistent with early *** h. pylori can be detected in colonic mucosa of patients with UC and patients with histological superficial ulcerations and mild infiltration consistent with early UC. There seems to be an association between UC and presence of h. pylori in the colonic tissue. Whether this is a causal relationship or not remains to be discovered.

The synthesis and characterization of new series of liquid crystals containing cholesteryl moiety connected via an ester linkage to 1,3,4-oxadiazole are reported. The molecular structures of the intermediates and target compounds were confirmed by elemental analyses and FT-IR, ^1h NMR and mass spectrometry. The mesomorphic behaviors were investigated by polarizing optical microscopy （POM） attached with hot stage and differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）. Enantiotropic smectic 1, smectic A, blue phase and cholesteric mesophases are exhibited by the newly synthesized compounds.

Trends of Pediatric Outpatients Prescribing in Umm Al Quwain, United Arab Emirates

Background: Data with regard to local drug prescribing in pediatric population is scarce. This study was carried out to investigate the patterns of drug prescribing for pediatric outpatient in a general hospital in the United Arab Emirates. Methods: A total of 707 prescriptions were collected from a governmental hospital in Umm Al Quwain, United Arab Emirates covering the months of June and July, 2014. Encounters issued for patients older than 12 years were rejected. A total of 520 prescriptions for age groups ranging from 1 week to 12 years were studied. Prescriptions were analyzed using WhO drug use indicators. Results: All prescriptions were electronic and head lettered by the name of the hospital. Average number of drugs per prescriptions was 2.6 and all drugs were generics. Name of patient, age and gender and prescriber’s name and E-signature were present in 100%. Patient’s address, allergy and diagnosis were present in 21.15%, 83.26% and 64.42% of prescriptions respectively. Complete dosage regimen was present in all encounters. Patients were prescribed one, two, three, four or more than four drugs per prescription in 23.84%, 27.88%, 26.53%, 12.69%, and 8.65% respectively. The most commonly prescribed therapeutic classes of drugs were antibiotics (44.60%), antihistamines (43.65%), and analgesics/antipyretics (32.30%). The most commonly prescribed drugs among each class were amoxicillin (40%), xylometazoline (61.23%), and paracetamol (87.5%). Conclusion: Present results indicate that prescribing trends for pediatric population seems to be rational. however, there is over use of antibiotics and there are some areas that warrant further attention by the prescribers for a more significantly rational prescribing.

Evaluation of the Antitumor and Radiosynthetizing Activity of a Novel Quinoline Sulfonamide Derivative (PIQSA) as a histone Deacetylase Inhibitor

Inhibition of histone deacetylases (hDACs) is emerging as a new strategy in cancer therapy. In the present work a novel pyrimido-quinoline benzene sulfonamide (PIQSA compound) was designed and synthesized postulating its ability to inhibit hDAC enzyme in cancer cells. This study was designed to examine the in vitro anti-tumor efficacy of PIQSA against Ehrlich Ascite carcinoma cells (EAC) and three of the human cancer cell lines (h460), brain (U251) and liver (hepG2). The results of Cytotoxic assays showed that PIQSA exhibited in vitro antitumor activity in a dose dependant manner. The tumor growth delay studies indicating that PIQSA resulted in significant regression in tumor growth, which was more pronounced when PIQSA treatment accompanied with radiation exposure. Also, the efficacy of PIQSA to influence radiation response in Ehrlich solid carcinoma (ESC) tumors was estimated. The results suggest that PIQSA exhibited antitumor activities and strong radioenhancing properties associated with inhibition of hDAC activity, DNA fragmentation followed by apoptotic cell death, preferential cell loss of cells particularly in G1/G0 phase through an apoptotic pathway.
