Multi-scale high-throughput phenotyping of apple architectural and functional traits in orchard reveals genotypic variability under contrasted watering regimes

Despite previous reports on the genotypic variation of architectural and functional traits in fruit trees,phenotyping large populations in the field remains *** this study,we used high-throughput phenotyping methods on an apple tree core-collection(1000 individuals)grown under contrasted watering ***,architectural phenotyping was achieved using T-LiDAR scans for estimating convex and alpha hull volumes and the silhouette to total leaf area ratio(STAR).Second,a semi-empirical index(IPL)was computed from chlorophyll fluorescence measurements,as a proxy for leaf ***,thermal infrared and multispectral airborne imaging was used for computing canopy temperature variations,water deficit,and vegetation *** traits estimated by these methods were compared to low-throughput in planta *** indices and alpha hull volumes were significantly correlated with tree leaf area and trunk cross sectional area,while IPL values showed strong correlations with photosynthesis measurements collected on an independent leaf *** contrast,correlations between stomatal conductance and canopy temperature estimated from airborne images were lower,emphasizing discrepancies across measurement *** heritability values were obtained for almost all the traits except leaf photosynthesis,likely due to large intra-tree *** means were used in a clustering procedure that defined six classes of architectural and functional *** between groups showed several combinations between architectural and functional traits,suggesting independent genetic *** study demonstrates the feasibility and relevance of combining multi-scale high-throughput methods and paves the way to explore the genetic bases of architectural and functional variations in woody crops in field conditions.

French Guiana is a territory located more than 7000 km from *** is also the largest French territory,with almost 84000 km2 and 90%of it is covered by *** municipalities are isolated due to the scarcity of transportation and the poor road *** population is extremely diverse ethnically and culturally,and includes more than thirty ethnic *** is high because it is one of the richest countries in the area bordering northern Brazil,Suriname,Guyana,and as a result of socio-economic crises in some other countries such as Haiti,and it has permeable natural *** and obesity,are emerging issues,with double the prevalence of Mainland France,whereas infectious diseases,such as HIV,take second *** and educational management are challenging because they require the adaptation of tools and treatments to the multiculturalism and precariousness often encountered in these *** French and European recommendations are unsuited to the needs of the territory and must take into account the epidemiological,sociological and cultural parameters of these populations in order to provide appropriate and graded management of diabetes in the French Amazon.

P2X7 purinoceptor promotes survival or cytotoxicity depending on extraceUular adenosine triphosphate （ATP） stimulus Intensity controlling its ion channel or P2X7-dependent large pore （LP） functions. Mechanisms governing this operational divergence and functional idiosyncrasy are ill-understood. We have discovered a feedback loop where sustained activation of P2X7 triggers release of active matrix metalloproteinase 2 （MMP-2）, which halts ion channel and LP responses via the MMP-2-dependent receptor cleavage. This mechanism operates in cells as diverse as macrophages, dystrophic myoblasts, P2X7-transfected HEK293, and human tumour cells. Given that serum-born MMP-2 activity also blocked receptor functions, P2X7 responses in vivo may decrease in organs with permeable capillaries. Therefore, this mechanism represents an Important fine-tuning of P2X7 functions, reliant on both cell-autonomous and extraneous factors. Indeed, it allowed evasion from the ATP-induced cvtotoxicity in macrophages and human cancer ceils with high P2X7 expression levels. Finally, we demonstrate that P2X7 ablation eliminated getatinase activity in inflamed dystrophic muscles in vivo. Thus, P2X7 antagonists could be used as an alternative to highly toxic MMP inhibitors in treatments of inflammatory diseases and cancers.

Sanitary Status of 44 Hog Manures in Brittany： Comparison of the Effectiveness of Manure Treatments Based on the Levels of Indicator Bacteria and Two Pathogenic Bacteria

The hygienic performance of simple storage and biological treatment of manure was evaluated using effluents collected from 44 hog farms across Brittany, France. Analyses were carried out on raw manure, on the sludge stored after biological treatment and on the liquid phase stored in a lagoon after sludge settling or sludge dewatering. The effect of the treatments was evaluated on E. coli, enterococci, Clostridium perfringens, Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes. Sequential feeding of manure maintained a high level of enteric bacteria in storage tanks regardless the duration of storage, and biological treatment only slightly reduced the concentration of enteric bacteria （average reduction in raw manure and sludge 〈 2.2 log10）. Salmonella and L. monocytogenes were identified in raw manure （50% and 18.2% of samples, respectively）, in sludge （14.8% and 11.1%）, and in lagoons （8.0% and 24%）, suggesting that there is still a sanitary risk after biological treatment of manure. Salmonella Derby and L. monocytogenes serotype 4b each accounted for 50% of the serotypes identified in the samples. There was no correlation between the presence of the two pathogenic bacteria and the size of the herd or the duration of manure storage. However, environmental conditions in the lagoons appeared to favor the presence ofL. monocytogenes and hence a risk of disseminating this pathogen in the environment.

CD4＋FoxP3＋ regulatory T cells （Tregs） are immunosuppressive cells that are critical for immune tolerance. Several studies have demonstrated that one of the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of action of intravenous immunoglobulin （Wig） involves the expansion of Tregs. Recently, we demonstrated that IVIgmediated Treg expansion involves the cyclooxygenase-2 （COX-2）-dependent induction of prostaglandin E2 （PGE2） in human dendritic cells （DCs）. However, the validity of these findings in autoimmune patients is lacking.

Introduction: Mechanical valve replacement in pediatric age is a dreaded but sometimes inevitable surgery. The purpose of this study was to determine the mortality of children with mechanical valve prostheses in the short, medium and long term. Patients and Methods: This was a retrospective and descriptive study conducted at the CUOMO cardio-pediatric center at Teaching National Hospital of Fann between January 1st, 2017 and December 31st, 2021. We included, children whose age is less than or equal to 16 years of age and who have benefited from a mechanical valve replacement and with a follow-up period of more than 6 months post-operative in the CUOMO cardio-pediatric center. Patients whose age at the time of surgery was over 16 years were excluded;patients who have benefited from bioprosthesis or valvular plastic surgery alone;as well as patients for whom a follow-up of more than 6 months was not found. Statistical analyses were carried out using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) software version 18 to calculate averages and percentages. Results: We included 85 patients. The average age was 12.84 ± 2.52 years. The male gender predominated with a sex ratio of 1.65. Dyspnea was found in 96.47% of children. Pure mitral regurgitation was the most common valve disease found in 67.06%. Rheumatic etiology was noted in 87.06% of cases. Mono valve replacement was performed in 84.71% of patients and double valve replacement in 15.3% of cases. Major mechanical complications were reported in 8 patients including 5 severe aortic mismatch cases. Hemorrhagic complications were observed in 4 patients requiring surgery. Hemodynamic complications were dominated by right ventricle dysfunction in 14 patients. Supraventricular rhythm disorders were present in 11 patients and one case of ventricular tachycardia. ＜正＞Agaricus（Basidiomycota） is a genus of saprobic fungi that includes edible cultivated species such as Agaricus bisporus,the button *** has been considerable ecological,nutritional and medicinal interest in the genus,yet its biodiversity remains poorly known,particularly in subtropical and tropical areas. Classification of the tropical taxa has for a large part followed the classification of temperate *** objective of our study was to examine to what extent this system of classification is appropriate for tropical Agaricus *** from temperate sections were therefore compared to the major clades of tropical taxa using a phylogenetic *** 1+2 sequence data from 128 taxa were used in the phylogenetic analysis. Specimens included four species of genera closely related to Agaricus,37 temperate species representing the eight classical sections of the genus,and 87 putative species of Agaricus from tropical areas of Africa,Asia and *** and maximum likelihood analyses produced relatively congruent trees and almost identical *** data showed that（i） only about one-third of tropical taxa belong to the classical sections;the systematics of the genus therefore needs to be reconsidered;（ii） basal clades and branches contain only African and Asian tropical taxa suggesting that the genus originated from these areas;（iii） among the remaining two-thirds of tropical taxa,those from America and those from Africa and/or Asia grouped in distinct clades,suggesting that secondary diversification occurred in these two areas and that direct migration between these areas has never or rarely occurred;（iv） in contrast,several clades of classical sections contain American and African+Asian species along with temperate *** two conclusions added to the fact that the distribution range of some temperate species extends to both Europe and North America,suggest that the genus would have migrated from tropical Africa +Asia to tropical
