Cu-based electrocatalysts can have excellent activity for the generation of C_(2+)products from a CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR).Cuδ+species is crucial in tuning the performance of the ***,we discovered that Si-doped Cu catalysts had excellent performance for electrochemical CO_(2)to C_(2+)products.A high Faradaic efficiency(FE)of 84.7%was achieved with a current density of 289ma cm^(−2)in the flow-cell *** situ experimental results showed that the significant reconstruction occurred during the electrolysis,resulting in the formation of the asymmetric Cu sites(Cu^(0)-Cu^(+)).The ratio of Cu^(0)and Cu^(+)could be tuned by changing Si *** experiments and theoretical calculations demonstrated that the asymmetric Cu sites caused by the appropriate Si doping promoted CO_(2)activation and strengthened the adsorption of^(*)CO *** was beneficial to the subsequent^(*)CO–^(*)CO dimerization step,and thus,accounted for the enhancement of C_(2+)selectivity.

Production of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.), a staple legume crop in Sub-Saharan Africa, faces challenges due to biotic and abiotic constraints. Induced mutagenesis was deployed to create genetic variation in two cowpea varieties (KVX396-4-5-2D and Moussa local). The radio-sensitivity tests led to determe the lethal dose 50 (LD50) corresponding to 230 Gy and 220 Gy for KVX396-4-5-2D and Moussa local varieties, respectively. Dried seeds (M0) of each variety were gamma-ray irradiated with LD50 − 50, LD50 and LD50 + 50. M1 seeds were advanced to generate M2, M3 and M4 mutants using the single-seed-descent method. M4 mutant lines were evaluated in rain-fed conditions using a randomized complete block design to assess phenotypic differences. Data on seven qualitative and eleven quantitative traits were collected. The results indicated that the mutation induced variability in three qualitative traits: in KVX 396-4-5-2D mutant lines, with flower and seed color frequencies at 2.61% and 0.56% respectively, and pod dehiscence at a frequency of 0.24%. While in Moussa local mutants, a pod color changed at a frequency of 17%. ANOVA results revealed significant differences between mutants of both varieties for all quantitative traits, including photosynthetic parameters. Positive correlations were observed between leaf diameter and 100-seed weight, and between branch number and 100-seed weight. Hierarchical clustering revealed three clusters among KVX 396-4-5-2D mutants and six clusters among Moussa local mutants. Early maturity and high foliage were induced traits in Cluster 3 of KVX 396-4-5-2D mutants while high hundred-seed weight was induced in Cluster 6 of Moussa local mutants.

A laser extinction based sensor for simultaneous droplet size and vapor measurement

Multiphase flows involving liquid droplets in association with gas flow occur in many industrial and sci- entific applications. Recent work has demonstrated the feasibility of using optical techniques based on laser extinction to simultaneously measure vapor concentration and temperature and droplet size and loading. This work introduces the theoretical background for the optimal design of such laser extinction techniques, termed WMLE （wavelength-multiplexed laser extinction）. This paper focuses on the devel- opment of WMLE and presents a systematic methodology to guide the selection of suitable wavelengths and optimize the performance of WMLE for specific applications. WMLE utilizing wavelengths from 0.5 to 10 ixm is illustrated for droplet size and vapor concentration measurements in an example of water spray, and is found to enable unique and sensitive Sauter mean diameter measurement in the range of ~1-15 ~m along with accurate vapor detection. A vapor detection strategy based on differential absorp- tion is developed to extend accurate measurement to a significantly wider range of droplet loading and vapor concentration as compared to strategies based on direct fixed-wavelength absorption. Expected performance of the sensor is modeled for an evaporating spray. This work is expected to lay the ground- work for implementing optical sensors based on WMLE in a variety of research and industrial applications involving multi-phase flows.

Excitons in confined molecular aggregates

Organic optoelectronic materials have attracted extensive attention in the past decades due to their wide applications in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic photovoltaics (OPVs), photocatalysis, etc. Significant advancements have been obtained in the material designs based on the insight into the fundamental physics of exciton related to molecular stacking patterns in solid/condensed states. The exciton characteristics and behaviors are not only a starting point for studying photophysical and photochemical processes on a microscopic level, but also a crucial point in determining the optoelectronic properties of macroscopic aggregates. This review summarizes the historic development of exciton models, accompanied by the discoveries of special molecular stacking patterns (H-/j./X-/M-aggregates), and the competitive de-excitation pathways of excitons including fluorescence, energy transfer, singlet fission, excimer formation and symmetry-breaking charge separation in the confined aggregate structures. Additionally, it highlights the capabilities of a correlation between molecular stacking modes and exciton behaviors, which provides new insights and perspectives for optimizing exciton character and behavior through the modulation of molecular arrangement in aggregate states, thereby enhancing the performance of optoelectronic materials.

Clinicopathological significance and immunotherapeutic outcome of claudin 18.2 expression in advanced gastric cancer:A retrospective study

Obj.ctive: Immunotherapeutic outcomes and clinical characteristics of claudin 18 isoform 2 positive(CLDN18.2-positive) gastric cancer(GC) vary in different clinical studies, making it difficult to optimize antiCLDN18.2 therapy. We conducted a retrospective analysis to explore the association of CLDN18.2 expression with clinicopathological characteristics and immunotherapeutic outcomes in ***: A total of 536 advanced GC patients from 2019 to 2021 in the CT041-CG4006 and CT041-ST-01clinical trials were included in the analysis. CLDN18.2 expression on ≥40% of tumor cells(2+, 40%) and CLDN18.2 expression on ≥70% of tumor cells(2+, 70%) were considered the two levels of positively expressed GC. The clinicopathological characteristics and immunotherapy outcomes of GC patients were analyzed according to CLDN18.2 expression ***: CLDN18.2 was expressed in 57.6%(cut-off: 2+, 40%) and 48.9%(cut-off: 2+, 70%) of *** death-ligand 1(PD-L1) and CLDN18.2 were co-expressed in 19.8% [combined positive score(CPS)≥1, CLDN18.2(cut-off: 2+, 40%)] and 17.2% [CPS≥5, CLDN18.2(cut-off: 2+, 70%)] of ***18.2 expression positively correlated with younger age, female sex, non-gastroesophageal j.nction(nonGEj., and diffuse phenotype(P<0.001). HER2 and PD-L1 expression were significantly lower in CLDN18.2-positive GC(both P<0.05). Uterine adnexa metastasis(P<0.001) was more frequent and liver metastasis(P<0.001)was less common in CLDN18.2-positive GC. Overall survival and immunotherapy-related progression-free survival(ir PFS) were inferior in the CLDN18.2-positive ***: CLDN18.2-positive GC is associated with poor prognosis and worse immunotherapeutic outcomes. The combination of anti-CLDN18.2 therapy, anti-PD-L1/PD-1 therapy, and chemotherapy for GC requires further investigation.

Tourmaline geochemistry as genetic evolution and metallogenic potential indicators of pegmatites: a case study from the Tugeman Be-Li deposit， Middle Altun

Tourmaline is a common borosilicate mineral in granite and pegmatite， and it is also an important carrier to record the physicochemical evolution information of magmas. However， the genetic relationship between pegmatite-type rare metal mineralization potential and tourmaline-bearing pegmatites is not clear， and the tourmaline geochemical indication of the mineralization type of rare metals needs to be supplemented. In the middle Altun region， extensive tourmaline-bearing pegmatite dykes are prevalent within and surrounding the Tugeman complex. In this paper， the petrology and geochemical characteristics of tourmaline within the pegmatite of the Tugeman Be-Li deposit have been comprehensively analyzed. The research delves into the genetic evolution and metallogenic potential of the pegmatite， emphasizing the indicative role of tourmaline geochemistry in discerning mineralization types in the Tugeman Be-Li deposit. maj.r and trace element analysis of tourmaline reveals varying contents of FeO （9.37 wt.%–17.10 wt.%）， Al2O3（28.64 wt.%–35.22% wt.%）， and MgO （0.13 wt.%–2.47 wt.%） in the Tugeman Be–Li pegmatite. Li， Zn， and Sn contents range from 204 ppm to 1 590 ppm， 1 143 ppm to 4 089 ppm， and 74 ppm to 396 ppm， respectively. The tourmaline analyzed in this study is magmatic origin and belongs to schorl series， exhibits substitution relationships， including (Na， Fe2+)(X□， Al)-1， (Fe2+， Fe3+)（Mg， Al）-1， (Al，X□)(R2+， Na)-1，（Na， Mg）(X□， Al)-1andX□NaR2+-1. The trace element data of tourmaline show that lithium has four enrichment stages in different mineral crystallization phases. Notably， the tendency of tourmaline in the Tugeman Be-Li pegmatite to evolve towards elbaite implies a magmatic evolution sequence from low to high， transitioning through microcline-albite pegmatite， muscovite-microcline-albite pegmatite， albite pegmatite， and microcline pegmatite.
