Model acupuncture point:Bone marrow-derived stromal stem cells are moved by a weak electromagnetic field

AIM To show the existence of a structural formative role of magnetic fields(MFs) with respect to biological objects by using our proposed model of an *** We introduced a magnetised 10-100 μT metal rod(needle) into culture dishes with a negatively charged working surface and observed during 24 h how cells were arranged by MFs and by electrical fields(EFs) when attached. Rat and human bone marrow-derived stromal stem cells(r BMSCs and h BMSCs), human nonadherent mononuclear blood cells, NCTCs and A172 cells, and Escherichia coli(E. coli) were evaluated. The dish containing BMSCs was defined as the model of an acupoint. r BMSCs proliferative activity affected by the needle was investigated. For investigating electromagnetic field structures, we used the gas discharge visualisation(GDv) *** During 24 h of incubation in 50-mm culture dishes, BMSCs or the nonadherent cells accumulated into a central heap in each dish. BMSCs formed a torus(central ring) with an inner diameter of approximately10 mm only upon the introduction of the needle in the centre of the dish. The cells did not show these effects in 35- or 90-mm culture dishes or hydrophobic dishes or rectangular cuvettes. NCTCs and A172 cells showed unstable the effects and only up to two weeks after thawing. Moreover, we observed that the appearance of these effects depended on the season. In winter, BMSCs showed no the effects. GDv experiments revealed that the resonant annular illumination gradually formed from 10 to 18-20 s in polar solutions with and without cell suspension of BMSCs, NCTCs and E. coli when using circular 50-mm dishes, stimulation at 115 v and switching of the electrode poles at 1 kH z. All these data demonstrate the resonant nature of the central ring. How much carbon can the Siberian boreal taiga store： a case study of partitioning among the above-ground and soil pools

In the context of global carbon cycle management, accurate knowledge of carbon content in forests is a relevant issue in contemporary forest ecology. We measured the above-ground and soil carbon pools in the darkconiferous boreal taiga. We compared measured carbon pools to those calculated from the forest inventory records containing volume stock and species composition data. The inventory data heavily underestimated the pools in the study area（Stolby State Nature Reserve, central Krasnoyarsk Territory, Russian Federation）. The carbon pool estimated from the forest inventory data varied from 25（t ha-1）（low-density stands） to 73（t ha-1）（highly stocked stands）. Our estimates ranged from 59（t ha-1）（lowdensity stands） to 147（t ha-1）（highly stocked stands）. Our values included living trees, standing deadwood, living cover, brushwood and litter. We found that the proportion of biomass carbon（living trees）： soil carbon varied from99：1 to 8：2 for fully stocked and low-density forest stands,respectively. This contradicts the common understanding that the biomass in the boreal forests represents only16–20 % of the total carbon pool, with the balance being the soil carbon pool.

Color Fastness of Dyed Raw Linen Cloth Modified with Enzymes

Green thinking looks to develop alternatives with higher environmental advantage that traditional materials or processes. The present experimental studies are directed to investigation of dyeing the linen fabric prepared with modification with enzymes. In the research, 1% and 2% solution of cellulase enzyme Beizym ENC-SB （garment auxiliary of enzymes mixture of CHT R. BEITLICH GmbH/BEZEma AG） and pectinase Beisol PRO （enzymes mixture for cleaning cellulose fibers of CHT R. BE1TLICH GmbH） enzyme solutions were used. The main objective of this work is focus on results studies of enzyme influence on dyeing of flax fabric with direct Solphenyl dye triade Blue FGLE （economical, fairly good light fast blue, main trichromatic component for medium shades with high wash fastness）, Scarlet BNLE （economical scarlet, main trichromatic component for medium to dark shades） 200%, and Yellow GLE （very bright neutral yellow, main trichromatic component for high wash fastness requirements）. The dye-bath exhaustion, color fastness to rubbing and washing were estimated. The color parameters before and after tests were calculated.

Biophotonics is an emerging multidisciplinary research area, embracing all light-based technologies applied to the life sciences and medicine [1-6]. The expression itself is the combination of the Greek syllables ＂bios＂ standing for life and ＂phos＂ standing for light. Photonics is the technical term for all methodologies and technologies utilizing photons over the whole spectrum from X-ray over the ultraviolet, visible and the infrared to the terahertz region, and its interaction with any matter. Beyond this definition, biophotonics is a scientific discipline of remarkable societal importance. As a part of photonics, it has proved to be an important enabling technology for accelerated progress in medicine and biotechnology. It can do so, because it originated at the interface of the most innovative academic disciplines of the last century, i.e., photonics, biotechnology and nanotechnologies. This field of research brings together scientists from different professions, such as physicists, biologists, pharmacists, medical doctors, etc. To work on common projects, they need to understand the ideas and the techniques of their counterparts.

Here,we discuss an important problem in medicine as development of efctive strategies for brain drug *** problem is related to the blood-brain barrier(BBB),which is a“customs”controlling the entrance of different molecules from blood into the brain protecting the normal function of central nervous system(CNS).We show three interfaces of anatomical side of BBB and two functional types of BBB一physical and transporter *** this protective mechanism is essential for health of CNS,it also creates a hindrance to the entry of drugs into the *** BBB was discovered over 100 years ago but till now,there is no efective methods for brain drug *** ane more than 70 approaches for overcoming BBB incuding physical,chenical and biological techniques but all of these tools have limitation to be widely used in clinical practice due to invasi venes,challenge in performing,very costly or lim-itation of drug *** therapy(PDT)is usual clinical method of surgical navigation for the resection of brain tumor and anti-cancer ***,the application of PDT is considered as a potential promising tool for brain drug delivery via opening of ***,we show the first sucoessful experimental results in this field discussing the adventures and disadv antages of PDT-related BBB disruption as well as altematives to overcome these limitations and possi ble mechanisms with new pathways for brain clearance via gly mphatic and lymphatic systems.

The Usefulness of Zhukovsky Double Balloon in Obstetric Hemorrhage

Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of the use of a modified Zhukovsky double(vaginal and uterine)balloon to improve the results of treatment in women with obstetric ***:We conducted an observational controlled study including 701 puerperas,which were divided into two groups:The main group consisted of 508 women,who underwent a combined management,that is,traditional(transfusion of fresh frozen plasma,erythrocyte mass,uterotonics,hemostatic agents),surgical hemostasis in cases of caesarean section,and insertion of a double Zhukovsky balloon;while the comparison group included 193 patients,who were managed *** main group and the comparison group were divided into subgroups according to the main etiology of obstetric hemorrhage:ⅠA andⅠB-postpartum;ⅡA andⅡB-placenta accreta;ⅢA andⅢB-postpartum ***:The most frequent causes of massive obstetric hemorrhage were atony of the uterus(39.2%),placenta previa(29.1%),and placental abruption(11.5%).Of the 508 balloon insertions,345(70.7%)were inserted for hemorrhage during cesarean section and 148(29.3%)for obstetric hemorrhage after spontaneous *** the obstetric hemorrhage at caesarean section,lower segment bleeding prevailed(78.1%),caused mainly by placenta previa,placenta accreta,placental abruption,polyhydramnios,and uterine scar *** management,including surgical hemostasis and insertion of vaginal and uterine balloon of Zhukovsky,reduced blood loss by 1.5 times and the number of hysterectomies by 6.72 times compared to ***:The use of a modified Zhukovsky double balloon in the management of obstetric hemorrhage may reduce the number of hysterectomies and the amount of blood loss.

Aim:We aimed to further investigate the role of hepcortespenlisimut-L(Hepko-v5 or v5),a new oral immunotherapy developed by us,for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)***:The interim data from ongoing PhaseⅢplacebo-controlled,randomized trial were evaluated on the initial group of patients in advanced stage of HCC with emphasis on liver function and tumor marker alpha-fetoprotein ***,an in vitro study was undertaken to elucidate the mechanism of action of v5 by measuring with flow cytometry the expression of cytokines such as IL-2,INF-γ,and TNF-αand cell activation markers CD69 and Ki67 on CD4-and CD8-positive lymphocytes isolated from peripheral blood of healthy ***:As early as one month after treatment initiation,there was a clear improvement in alanine transaminase,aspartate transaminase,alkaline phosphatase,and bilirubin levels among HCC patients who received daily dose of v5,but not in the placebo ***,alpha-fetoprotein(AFP)levels among v5 recipients decreased,while in the ;placebo group they *** results are in line with in vitro observations indicating immune activation,as evidenced by many-fold enhancement of CD69,Ki67,and INF-γexpression and at the same time marked anti-inflammatory effect resulting in 10-fold decrease in TNF-αoutput and lack of influence on IL-2 ***:Hepcortespenlisimut-L,a tableted oral formulation derived from heat-inactivated pooled blood of patients with HCC and viral hepatitis shows beneficial clinical effect,as demonstrated by improvement in liver function and reduction of tumor marker AFP *** correlate with in vitro observations showing potent activation of the immune response and pronounced oral tolerance effect.
