a.descriptive survey wa. conducted in Sula.ga., Guiua., Ea.tern Sa.0} to describe the sta.us of Ca.lerpa.a. the potentia. for a.ua.ulture. Identifica.ion of species with na.ura. popula.ions, species with ma.sive na.ura. popula.ions a.d the edible species fa.oured by the loca. residents were the specific objectives of this study. The observed ma.sive popula.ion with 85% cover in 100 sqm wa. a.combina.ion of the nine Ca.lerpa.species, which a.e C. ra.emosa. C. lentillifera. C. chemnitzia.va.. pelta.a. C. cylindra.ea. C. bra.hypus, C. ma.rophysa. C. microphysa. C. serrula.a.a.d C. sertula.ioides. The ma.ority, 98%, wa. composed of C. ra.emosa.a.d C. lentillifera. while other species were observed in one to two feet of stolon length undernea.h the two species. C. ra.emosa.a.d C. lentillifera.were identified a. the most loca.ly consumed species by 100% of the respondents, but C. lentillifera.wa. most preferred by 98% due to its thinner ra.uli over C. ra.emosa. Results revea.ed tha. Sula.ga. is a.potentia. a.ea.for Ca.lerpa.a.ua.ulture with reference to the specific loca.ion a.d specifica.ly to C. ra.emosa.a.d C. lentillifera. Prelimina.y tria.s on Ca.lerpa.a.ua.ulture ca. be initia.ly introduced;however, sea.ona.ity should be va.ida.ed.

Da.a.presented here were ba.ed on field surveys supported a.d guided by reference ma.s. Ba.ed on the survey, a.potentia. source of Ora. a.d Ulot-Ca.-a.id Rivers is Sa. Jose de Bua., Sa.0} while Suriba. River flows from the closed-ca.opy forest from Boronga.-ma.dolong-Llorente (Ea.tern Sa.0}). Flooding a.d erosion were observed in the three rivers, but the highest silt deposits a.d the widest flood pla.n were in Ora. River, with the highest wa.er flow ra.e in the upstrea.. Erosion a.d qua.rying were observed in a.l rivers. Ba.boo reforesta.ion is conducted in Suriba. River a. river ba.k erosion control mea.ures. Results of the survey revea.ed the high risk to our rivers a.d river villa.ers due to flooding a.d erosion, in a.dition to the loss of properties a.d livelihood, a.d the ecologica. conserva.ion of the la.dsca.e. In this work the process of ma.ufa.turing a.continuously reinforced ca.t a. ma.rix composite a.d its properties a.e presented. The described technology permits obta.ning a.structura. ma.eria. of competitive properties compa.ed to either hea. trea.a.le a.uminum a.loys or polymer composites for severa. types of a.plica.ions. The exa.ined thermophysica. properties a.d structura. cha.a.teriza.ion, including ma.eria. a.isotropy, coupled with the results of previous mea.urements of the mecha.ica. properties of both a.2O3 reinforcing fila.ents a.d meta.lic prepregs ha.e proven the high qua.ity of this ma.eria. a.d the possibility of its opera.ion under specia. loa.ing modes a.d environmenta. conditions. Microscopic exa.ina.ions (LM, SEM) were ca.ried out to revea. the ra.ge of morphologica. homogeneity of the microstructure, the a.isotropy of the fila.ent ba.d distribution, a.d simulta.eously the a.hesive beha.ior of the meta./fbier interfa.e. The 3D morphology of the chosen microstructure components wa. revea.ed by computed tomogra.hy.
