Growing a silicon(Si) layer on top of stacked Si-germanium(Ge) compressive layer can introduce a tensile strain on the former, resulting in superior device characteristics. Such a structure can be used for high performance complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS) circuits. Down scaling metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors(MOSFETs) into the deep submicron/nanometer regime forces the source(S) and drain(D) series resistance to become comparable with the channel resistance and thus it cannot be neglected. Owing to the persisting technological importance of strained Si devices, in this work, we propose a multi-iterative technique for evaluating the performance of strained-Si/strained-Si_(1-y)Ge_y/relaxed-Si_(1-x)Ge_x MOSFETs and its related circuits in the presence of S/D series resistance, leading to the development of a simulator that can faithfully plot the performance of the device and related digital circuits. The impact of strain on device/circuit performance is also investigated with emphasis on metal gate and high-k dielectric materials.

Objective 3-Bromobenzanthrone (3-BBA), an anthraquinone intermediate dye, is extensively used in textile industry. Since, our prior studies have shown that 3-BBA caused significant depletion of ascorbic acid (AsA) levels, the effect of exogenous supplementation of AsA on the urinary elimination of 3-BBA metabolites was investigated. Method Guinea pigs were treated with single oral dose of 3-BBA (50 mg/kg b. wt.) in groundnut oil while another group was treated with single oral dose of 3-BBA (50 mg/kg b. wt.) along with 3 day prior and post oral supplementation of AsA. Control groups were either treated with groundnut oil or AsA alone. Urine from individual animals was collected, extracted and analysed on HPTLC. Results The highest elimination of 3-BBA (75 mg) was found to be in 0-24 h urine fraction which decreased to 18 mg and 5 mg in the two subsequent 24 hourly fractions of urine. Exogenous supplementation of AsA increased the total urinary elimination of 3-BBA by almost 77%. A total of 10 fluorescent metabolites excluding the parent compound were eliminated in the urine of guinea pigs treated with 3-BBA. Densitometric scanning of chromatogram showed different peaks at Rf 0.18, 0.22, 0.27, 0.34, 0.40, 0.48, 0.56, 0.66, 0.72, 0.80, and 0.95 which were eliminated and marked as urinary metabolite 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 respectively. AsA not only significantly enhanced the elimination of 3-BBA metabolites but also modified the pattern of metabolites drastically in 0-6 h, 6-24 h and 24-48 h urine fractions. Conclusion These results indicate that AsA may be useful in protecting the toxicity of 3-BBA by fascilitating the urinary metabolite(s) excretion of 3-BBA.

All nucleons are concentrated in an infinitesimal region in the atom under the strong force forming the collective model. Mathematically, formation of this force has been explained by H. Yukawa in [1]. But, in this text, this force has been derived following an alternative and constructive method (or system) which also leads to explain the generalized nuclear model.

There are four fundamental forces;gravitational force, electromagnetic force, strong force and weak force, in the well known physics. The unified field theory considers the constructive relations among these forces or fields. In the present work the fundamental relations have been studied and trial has been made to derive more significant relations among the known fields. This gives out a generalized unification.

A complex motion and complex momentum due to relativistic phenomenon has been deduced in this paper. This procedure leads to explain the generation of a field which is the result of energy momentum complexity (tensor). In this work, a form of complex momentum of photon has been derived. This momentum reveals the construction of electromagnetic field. These procedures have been applied to explain the electromagnetic field of fundamental charged particle and leads to the assumption of fundamental charge. In this works trial would be made to derive a relation between gravitational field and electromagnetic field.

An attempt was made to explore the scope of the bio-antioxidants in the management of symptoms of epidemic dropsy caused by argemone alkaloids, sanguinarine and dihydrosanguinarine. The study was performed on 24 randomly selected epidemic dropsy cases who consumed argemone contaminated mustard oil. On examination the cases revealed characteristic pitting edema over limbs (95.8%) accompanied by tenderness (79.2%) and diffuse erythema (95.8%). Tachycardia was present in 1/3 of the examined cases while evelated jugular venous pressure was seen in over 40% of the cases. In two of the cases, reddish-purplish blotches over lower limbs, not raised and which blanched on pressure, was an unusual feature. Chest X-ray revealed pulmonary congestion in 5 cases. ECG performed in 3 cases with severe breathlessness, showed non-specific ST-T changes most marked in L2,L3, avF and V2-V6 which reversed on recovery. Treatment with a combination of antioxidants, riboflavin and tocopherol showed improvement in pain in lower limbs (75%), edema (83.3%) and erythema (66.6%).

The study was designed to investigate the role of hepatic metabolic activity on body burden of HCH *** albino rats were orally administerd 0,5,and 10mg/kg HCH for 90 days,followed by either sodium phenobarbital or carbon tetrachloride treatment for 0,15 and 30days after withdrawal of their respective HCH *** liver weight was significantly increased at 30 days after the administration of phenobarbital and carbon tetrachloride in both 5 mg and 10mg/kg HCH withdrawal groups when compared to *** residue was maximun in fat followed by adrenal>thymus >liver>kidney>spleen>testes>brain>*** tetrachloride caused an accumulation of HCH residues in the liver 15 and 30 days after administration of both doses of HCH Phenobarbital did not show significant variation in HCH residues in hepatic *** treatment caused significant induction of hepatic RED,APD,AHH,GSTand QR activities Significant decreases in activities were observed by carbon tetrachloride when compared to ainmals treated with HCH alone .The overall results clearly suggest the role of P450 protein on the body burden of HCH residues.

功能化种植体展示了骨科种植体的升级方法,旨在通过改进生物整合实现长期成功。多功能的生物陶瓷涂层由于其结合了生物植入物所必需的各种性能,如骨整合和抗菌特性,已成为传统涂层的有效替代品。本文利用脉冲激光沉积(PLD)和射频磁控溅射(RFMS)在Ti64基底上制备了薄磷锌矿涂层。使磷锌矿涂层在500°C的真空中退火,并分别通过扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、X射线衍射(XRD)、原子力显微镜(AFM)、张力计、荧光激活细胞排序(流式细胞仪)、模拟体液(SBF)浸泡试验和接触角测角仪研究表面形态、相组成、表面粗糙度、粘附强度、抗菌功效、磷灰石形成能力和表面润湿性能。结果表明,在Ti64基底上由PLD和RFMS两种新工艺路线合成的新一代多功能磷锌矿涂层是传统涂层的有效替代品。所沉积的磷锌矿涂层具有较强的骨整合能力和抗菌特性,保证了金属骨科种植体的整体稳定性。
