Oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) occurs at the cathode of fuel cells and metal-air batteries,but usually suffers from sluggish kinetics.To solve this issue,efficient electrocatalysts are highly desired.Palladium(Pd)-based nanomaterials,as the most promising substitute of platinum(Pt),exhibit superior activity and stability in ORR electrocatalysis.The delicate regulation of the structure and/or composition shows great potential in improving the electrocatalytic ORR performance of Pd-based nanomaterials.In this review,we retrospect the recent advance of Pdbased ORR electrocatalysts,and analyses the relationship between nanostructure and catalytic performance.We start with the ORR mechanism and indicators of ORR performance in both alkaline and acidic media,followed by the synthetic methods for Pd-based nanoparticles.Then,we emphasize the design strategies of efficient Pd-based ORR catalysts from the perspective of composition,crystal phase,morphology,and support effects.Last but not least,we conclude with possible opportunities and outlook on Pd-based nanomaterials toward ORR.

Background:Although osteopontin(OPN)is expressed in the liver and pigment gallstones of patients with hepatolithiasis,its role in pigment gallstone formation remains unclear.This study aimed to explore the function of OPN in pigment gallstone formation.Methods:Rats were fed a chow diet(CD)or lithogenic diet(LD)for 10 consecutive weeks;blocking tests were then performed using an OPN antibody(OPN-Ab).Incidence of gallstones and levels of several bile components,OPN,tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),and cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase(CYP7A1)were analyzed.To determine TNF-αexpression in hepatic macrophages and both CYP7A1 and bile acid(BA)expression in liver cells,recombinant rat OPN and recombinant rat TNF-αwere used to treat rat hepatic macrophages and rat liver cells,respectively.Chi-square or Fisher exact tests were used to analyze qualitative data,Student t-test or one-way analysis of variance were used to analyze qualitative data.Results:Incidence of gallstones was higher in LD-fed rats than in CD-fed rats(80%vs.10%,Pmarkedly down-regulated in the LD group.Following OPN-Ab pretreatment,gallstone formation decreased(85%vs.25%,χ^(2)=14.55,Pmacrophage(F=1041,P<0.01),which suppressed CYP7A1 expression(F=48.08,P<0.01)and reduced liver BA synthesis(F=119.4,P<0.01).Conclusions:We provide novel evidence of OPN involvement in pigmented gallstone pathogenesis in rats.

The application of all-solid-state Li-metal batteries with solid oxide electrolytes is hindered by interfacial issues,especially the solid electrolyte/Li-metal interface.This work introduced a uniform indium film layer on the surface of Na^(+)super ionic conductor(NASICON)solid electrolyte Li_(1.5)Al_(0.5)Ge_(1.5)P_(3)O_(12)(LAGP),which promotes the intimate contact between Li metal and solid electrolyte and hinders the side reactions at the interface.Electrochemical impedance spectra show that the battery with coated solid electrolyte presents a smaller interfacial resistance and maintains stability after a long cycling time.By contrast,the baseline battery with a pure LAGP pellet shows a contact loss after cycling with the vibration of interfacial impedance.The Li symmetric cells with indium-modified solid electrolyte present stable cycling behavior over 400 h at 0.1 and 0.2 ma·cm^(−2).The all-solid-state Li-metal batteries with a Li anode,indium coating LAGP and two kinds of cathodes,namely carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NCM811),are prepared and tested.The CNTs cathode for Li-O2 and Li-air batteries has a higher specific capacity than traditional Li-ion battery cathodes.The Li-NCM811 batteries deliver an initial Coulombic efficiency of about 75%,with 82%capacity retention after 20 cycles.

背景:胆囊癌手术中,肝外胆管是否应常规切除仍然存在争议。本研究旨在探讨联合肝外胆管应用于进展期胆管癌根治性手术的临床意义。方法:213例行根治性手术的T2-T4期胆囊癌患者纳入研究。比较术中联合与未联合胆外胆管切除患者的临床病理特征。同时,采用单因素和多因素Cox比例风险回归模型来明确影响总体生存(OS)的危险因素。结果:213例入组患者中,87例(40.8%)行联合肝外胆管切除。与未行肝外胆管切除者相比,联合肝外胆管切除者术后并发症发生率更高(33.3%vs 21.4%,P=0.046)。然而,联合肝外胆管切除者中位OS显著延长(25 vs 11个月,P=0.008)。按T分期和N分期进行的亚组分析显示,在T3、T4或有淋巴结转移病例中,联合肝外胆管切除者中位OS均优于未行肝外胆管切除者(T3:15 vs 7个月,P=0.002;T4:11 vs 6个月,P=0.021;N+:12 vs 7个月,P<0.001);而在T2或无淋巴结转移病例中,联合肝外胆管切除则未显示出生存获益。多因素预后危险因素分析显示,T分期、淋巴结转移、切缘状态、术前CA19-9水平及肝外胆管切除是进展期胆囊癌患者总体生存的独立预后因素(均P<0.05)。结论:联合肝外胆管切除可独立影响进展期胆囊癌患者的总体生存时间。对于T3、T4或有淋巴结转移的胆囊癌,联合肝外胆管切除是合理的,可改善患者总体生存。

Background： Recent advances in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation （ECMO） have led to increasing interest in its use during cardiopuhnonary resuscitation （CPR）. However, decisions regarding extracorporeal CPR （ECPR） in children are difficult as a result of limited studies, especially in Asia Pacific. The objective of this study was to investigate trends in survival and demographic details for children with ECPR in Asia Pacific recorded in the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization （ELSO） registry from 1999 to 2016 and identify the risk factors associated with in-hospital mortality. Methods： The data of children younger than 18 years of age who received ECPR over the past 18 years in Asia Pacific were retrospectively analyzed. The data were extracted from the ELSO registry and divided into two 9-year groups （Group 1 1999-2007 and Group 2： 2008-2016） to assess temporal changes using univariate analysis. Then, univariate and multiple logistic regression analyses were performed between survivors and nonsurvivors to identify factors independently associated with in-hospital mortality. Results： A total of 321 children were included in final analysis, with an overall survival rate of 50.8%. Although survival rates were similar between Group 1 and Group 2 （43.1% vs. 52.5%,χ^2= 1.67, P - 0.196）, the median age （1.7 [0.3, 19.2] months for Group 1 vs. 5.6 [0.8, 64.9] months for Group 2, t = 2.93, P = 0.003） and weight （3.7 [3.0, 11.5] kg for Group 1 vs. 6.0 [3.4, 20.3] kg for Group 2, t = -3.14, P 0.002） of children increased over time, while the proportion of congenital heart disease （75.9% for Group 1 vs. 57.8% for Group 2, χ^2=6.52, P 0.011 ） and cardiogenic shock （36.2% for Group 1 vs. 7.2% for Group 2, χ^2=36.59, P 〈 0.001 ） decreased. Patient conditions before ECMO were worse, while ECMO complications decreased across time periods, especially renal complications. Objective:To investigate the potential role of Tongxinluo (TXL) in attenuating myocardial fibrosis after myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI) in mice. Methods :A MIRI mouse model was established by left anterior descending coronary artery ligation for 45 min. According to a random number table, 66 mice were randomly divided into 6 groups (n=11 per group): the sham group, the model group, the LY-294002 group, the TXL group, the TXL+LY-294002 group and the benazepril (BNPL) group. The day after modeling, TXL and BNPL were administered by gavage. Intraperitoneal injection of LY-294002 was performed twice a week for 4 consecutive weeks. Echocardiography was used to measure cardiac function in mice. masson staining was used to evaluate the degree of myocardial fibrosis in mice. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of endothelial mesenchymal transition (EndMT) after MIRI was performed by immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence staining and flow cytometry, respectively. The protein expressions of platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (CD31), alpha-smoth muscle actin (alpha-Sma), phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K) and phospho protein kinase B (p-AKT) were assessed using Western blot. ResultsTXL improved cardiac function in MIRI mice, reduced the degree of myocardial fibrosis, increased the expression of CD31 and inhibited the expression of alpha-Sma, thus inhibited the occurrence of EndMT (P0.05). In addition, the use of the PI3K/AKT pathway-specific inhibitor LY-294002 to block this pathway and combination with TXL intervention, eliminated the protective effect of TXL, further supporting the protective effect of TXL. Conclusion :TXL activated the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway to inhibit EndMT and attenuated myocardial fibrosis after MIRI in mice.

Microarray gene expression analysis of chemosensitivity for docetaxel,cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil(TPF)combined chemotherapeutic regimen in hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma

Objective: To screen out a set of candidate genes which could help to determine whether patients with hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (HSCC) could benefit from docetaxel, cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil (TPF) induction chemotherapy. Methods: Gene-expression profiles in 12 TPF-sensitive patients were compared to 9 resistant controls by microarray analysis. Subsequently, expression levels of potential biomarkers in chemosensitive cell line FaDu after TPF treatment were observed by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Results: Through microarray analysis, 1,579 differentially expressed genes were identified, of which 815 were up-regulated in TPF chemotherapy-responsive tissues whereas 764 were down-regulated. Gene ontology (GO) analysis suggested these genes participating in physiological processes including transcription and its regulation, cellular signal transduction and metabolic process. Additionally, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) database revealed that maPK and Jat/STAT signaling pathways occupied important roles in TPF chemotherapeutic sensitivity. Moreover, in vitro cell culture experiments revealed the expression alternations of IL-6, maPK14, JUN, CDK5 and CAMK2A exposed to TPF treatment by qRT-PCR, whilst providing an insight into the mechanism underlying TPF chemotherapeutic response in HSCC. Conclusions: These results provided a battery of genes related to TPF chemotherapeutic sensitivity and might act as molecular targets in HSCC treatment. Moreover, these candidate biomarkers could contribute to HSCC individualized treatment.
