The Power Factor Correction(PFC)in Switched Reluctance(SR)motor is discussed in this *** SR motors are applicable for multiple applications like electric vehicles,wind mills,machineries *** doubly salient structure of SR motor causes the occurrence of torque ripples,which affects the power factor of the *** improve the power quality,the power factor has to be corrected and the ripples have to be *** order to achieve these objectives,a novel power factor correction(PFC)method is proposed in this ***,the conventional Diode Bridge Rectifier(DBR)is replaced by a Bridgeless Hybrid Resonant(HR)converter,which assists in improvising the output in a wider *** converter is chosen because of having variety of beneficial measures including high *** converter’s output is fed to the SR motor by means of an asymmetric Bridge Resonant(BR)*** proposed converter operates in continuous mode of conduction with the switching frequency of 10 KHz.A hysteresis current controller and Proportional Integral(PI)controller are utilized for reducing the harmonics in the source current along with the regulation of output *** addition,the speed control of SR motor is accomplished by means of the Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA)assisted PI *** proposed methodology is effective for the control of unity power factor,torque and current *** Total Harmonic Distortion(THD)of the source current is also minimized,which suits the standard of International Electrotechnical Comission IEC *** this methodology,the power factor of 0.99 is achieved with 97%efficiency and 3.92%*** proposed methodology is validated in simulation by mATLAB and in hardware by FPGA Spartan 6E.

AIm:To describe the gonioscopic profile and intraocular pressure(IOP)in primary angle-closure(PAC)disease in patients presenting to a tertiary eye care network in ***:A cross-sectional hospital-based study that included 31484 new patients presenting between 2011 and *** with a clinical diagnosis of PAC/suspect/glaucoma were *** data was collected from an electronic medical record ***:PAC glaucoma(PACG)(47.55%)was the most common diagnosis followed by PAC(39.49%)and PAC suspect(PACS;12.96%).Female preponderance(54.6%)was noted with higher mean age at presentation among males(Pmy(PI).Plateau iris syndrome(PIS)was noted in 252 eyes and all showed post dilated rise of IOP.A post dilated IOP rise was also noted with 8.86%,33.95%and 57.19%eyes with PACS,PAC and PACG respectively with IOP rise between 6-8 mm Hg across the disease ***:The superior quadrant is the narrowest angle and difficult to open with indentation and post *** probability of angle opening is less in PIS especially the complete variety along with post dilated IOP *** post dilated IOP rise in angle closure eyes warrants a careful dilatation,especially with PIS.

Enhancing awareness of personal cleanliness and antibacterial resistance has intensified the antibacterial substance request on consumable products. Antibacterial agents that have been commercialized nowadays are produced from inorganic and non-renewable substances. This provides several drawbacks, particularly against health and environmental issues. Therefore, many scientists work on substituting fossil-fuel-based antibacterial agents with natural ones such as from biomass. Biomass derivatives, natural abundances of biopolymers in the world, amount to major compounds including polysaccharides (cellulose, hemicellulose, and chitosan) and polyphenol (tannin and lignin) substances which are capable to combat the growth of Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria. To date, no report focuses on a deep understanding of antibacterial properties derived from biomass and the internal and external factors effects. This work provides that gap because comprehensive knowledge is necessary before applying biomass to the products. The potency of biomass derivatives as antibacterial additives is also summarized. Basic knowledge of antibacterial characteristics to the application in products is highlighted in this review. Besides, the discussion about challenges and future perspectives is also delivered.

The significant rise of ultra-violet（UV） radiation and pathogenic infectious bacteria poses a serious threat to global *** researchers' interests are attracted by novel materials with strong UVblocking ability,antibacterial activity and low toxicity to other *** this case,a simple wet chemical method with different annealing temperatures（400,500,and 600℃） was employed to create highly effective rare earth（Sm）-doped ZnO ***（101） plane of wurtzite ZnO shifts towards a lower angle with increasing annealing temperature,according to the X-ray diffraction（XRD） study findings,which additionally establishes the consequence of lattice *** of doublet peaks of Sm 3d(Sm 3d5/2and Sm 3d3/2) in the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS） spectrum clearly validates the substitution of Sm3+ions in the 500℃-annealed *** 500℃-annealed nanorods exhibit combined performances of the wide band gap,improved UV absorbance,and vivid green luminescent emission（563 nm）.Additio nally,the nanorods have favorable UV-blocking execution of 96% for UVA at 360 nm,92% for UVB at 320 nm,and 57% for UVC at 225 nm,which is greater than the majority of ZnO-related materials that have been reported up to this *** doping is also appropriate for improving bacterial inhibition against the two studied strains（Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus）,in addition to the intriguing features discussed ***,with maximum inhibition zone diameters of 20±0.72 and 18±0.57 mm,respectively,these nanorods exhibit high inhibitory action against *** and *** bacterial *** rare earth-doped material developed during the current experiment,which was annealed at 500℃,could potentially serve as an effective replacement for UV-blocking and antibacterial material,especially for biomedical applications.

Assessment of source water contamination by estrogenic disrupting compounds in China

Detection of estrogenic disrupting compounds（EDCs） in drinking waters around China has led to rising concerns about health risks associated with these *** is,however,a paucity of studies on the occurrence and identification of the main compounds responsible for this pollution in the source *** fill this void,we screened estrogenic activities of 23 source water samples from six main river systems in China,using a recombinant two-hybrid yeast *** sample extracts induced significant estrogenic activity,with E2 equivalents（EEQ） of raw water ranging from 0.08 to 2.40 ng/***,16 samples were selected for chemical analysis by gas chromatography-mass *** EDCs of most concern,including estrone（E1）,17β-estradiol（E2）,17α-ethinylestradiol（EE2）,estriol（E3）,diethylstilbestrol（DES）,estradiol valerate（EV）,4-t-octylphenol（4-t-OP）,4-nonylphenols（4-NP） and bisphenol A（BPA）,were determined at concentrations of up to 2.98,1.07,2.67,4.37,2.52,1.96,89.52,280.19 and 710.65 ng/L,*** analysis,involving comparison of EEQ values from yeast assay and chemical analysis identified E2,EE2 and 4-NP as the main responsible compounds,accounting for the whole estrogenic activities（39.74% to 96.68%）.The proposed approach using both chemical analysis and yeast assay could be used for the identification and evaluation of EDCs in source waters of China.
