We aim to evaluate the incidence of incontinence following laser endoscopic enucleation of the prostate(EEP)comparing en-bloc(Group 1)versus 2-lobe/3-lobe techniques(Group 2).We performed a retrospective review of patients undergoing EEP for benign prostaticenlargement in 12 centers between January 2020 and January *** were presented as median and interquartile range(IQR).Univariable and multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate factors associated with stress urinary incontinence(SUI)and mixed urinary incontinence(mUI).There were 1711 patients in Group 1 and 3357 patients in Group *** in Group 2were significantly younger(68[62–73]years vs 69[63–74]years,P=0.002).median(interquartile range)prostate volume(PV)wassimilar between the groups(70[52–92]ml in Group 1 vs 70[54–90]ml in Group 2,P=0.774).There was no difference in preoperativeInternational Prostate Symptom Score,quality of life,or maximum flow ***,morcellation,and total surgical time weresignificantly shorter in Group *** 1 month,overall incontinence rate was 6.3%in Group 1 versus 5.3%in Group 2(P=0.12),and urge incontinence was significantly higher in Group 1(55.1%vs 37.3%in Group 2,Pmonths,the overall rate ofincontinence was 1.7%in Group 1 versus 2.3%in Group 2(P=0.06),and SUI was significantly higher in Group 2(55.6%vs 24.1%in Group 1,P=0.002).At multivariable analysis,PV and IPSS were factors significantly associated with higher odds of transient SUI/***,surgical time,and no early apical release technique were factors associated with higher odds of persistent SUI/mUI.

High sedimentation-rate basins are characteristic of the continental margins, where sedimentation ratesup to 500m/ma and more are no exception. The sediments are rich in organic matter and undergo awell-established sequence of bacterial oxidation reactions, starting at the sediment/water interface with:（1）the oxidation zone （absent in euxinic basins）, which is followed downwards by （2） the nitrate reduction zone,（3） the sulfate reduction zone, （4） the carbonate reduction zone, （5） the fermentation zone and （6） thedecarboxylation zone, which marks the onset of thermocatalytic reactions characteristic of the intermediatestage （and deeper stages） of diagenesis. This sequence of bacterially mediated organic-matter decomposition reactions in rapidly depositedsediments on the continental margins is well reflected in the vertical trends of pore-water chemistry. Carbonisotopic fractionation permits to distinguish between zones （1） to （3） with negative δ;C values for the CO;generated, and between zones （4） and （5） with increasingly heavier carbon-isotopes in CO;(up to + 15 to+ 25‰δ;C). The formation of gas-hydrates causes characteristic chemical and isotopic signatures in porewaters retrieved from hydrate-beating sediments. After hydrate decomposition （in the sampling process orat the base of hydrate zones） marked chlorimity decreases accompanied by increases in heavy oxygenisotopes are observed. These are distinctly different from the effects of meteoric water influx, which are notaccompanied by positive δ;O values. The opposite trend of increasing salinity at shallow burial depths,rather than pore-waters freshening, is observed in the vicinity of evaporites.

Root Exudation of Organic Acids of Herbaceous Pioneer Plants and Their Growth in Sterile and Non-Sterile Nutrient-Poor,Sandy Soils from Post-mining Sites

Nutrient-poor, sandy soils form the prevailing substrate at post-mining sites of the Lusatian region(Brandenburg, Germany) and present a challenge for vegetation development. We studied the organic acid quantity and composition of three commonly occurring pioneer plant species, the legumes Lotus corniculatus L. and Trifolium arvense L. and the grass Calamagrostis epigeios(L.) Roth, to determine if plant growth and exudation differed with(non-sterilized soil) and without(sterilized soil) an indigenous soil microbial community. We investigated whether organic acids were found in the rhizosphere and surrounding soil and whether this influenced nutrient mobilization. This study consists of linked field investigations and a greenhouse experiment. Plants were grown in the greenhouse in either sterilized or non-sterilized sandy soil from a reclamation site in the Lusatian mining landscape(Welzow Su¨d, East Germany). After seven months, the plant biomass, root morphology, organic acids, and water-soluble nutrients and root colonization with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AmF) and dark septate endophytes(DSE) were analyzed. Roots of all three plants in the field and greenhouse experiments were highly colonized with AmF. Calamagrostis epigeios and T. arvense had a significantly higher colonization frequency with DSE than L. corniculatus. The quantity and composition of organic acids strongly differed among plant species, with the highest number of organic acids found for L. corniculatus and lowest for C. epigeios. The quantity of organic acids was greatly reduced in all plants under sterilized soil conditions. However, the composition of organic acids and plant growth in sterilized soil were reduced for both legumes, but not for C. epigeios, which had a higher biomass under sterilized conditions. Areliable sediment transport capacity function provides response against challenges of soil erosion prediction on the Loess Plateau of China. The popular sediment transport capacity functions are questionable on loess slopes because the experimental conditions from which they were derived, like bed materials, gentle slopes,and surface roughness, are different from soil erosion processes on the loess slopes. Due to the foregoing uncertainty, a suitable sediment transport capacity function was developed based on a flume experiment investigation. The erodible bed experiment was implemented for five unit width discharges(1.3 × 10-4-3.3 × 10-4m2/s) and ten slopes(5.2%-57.7%). The selected sediment transport capacity equations were tested in an applicability evaluation. The results of this evaluation found that the Govers(1990) function had the best performance(P.O.0.5-2.0= 76%, R2= 0.93, RmSE = 0.03 kg/(m·s)), followed by the Yalin(1963) function(P.O.0.5-2.0= 80%, R2= 0.81, RmSE = 0.05 kg/(m·s)), and finally by the Low(1989) function(P.O.0.5-2.0= 72%,R2= 0.79, RmSE = 0.04 kg/(m·s)), where P.O.0.5-2.0is the percentage of estimated values with logarithmic discrepancies with the measured value between 0.5 and 2.0; R2is the coefficient of determination and RmSE is the roof mean squares error. The cohesive sediment incipient motion velocity is introduced into the Govers(1990) function, and the sediment particle parameter is determined from measured experimental data. The developed sediment transport capacity equation has good performance with predicted values corresponding to measured values(P.O.0.5-2.0= 98%, R2= 0.98, RmSE = 0.006 kg/(m·s)). The research results provide an improved sediment transport capacity function on the basis of experiments for steep loessal slopes.
