Preparation of large rylenes often needs the use of solubilizing groups along the rylene backbone,which results in the distortion of the skeleton and thus broadening of the absorption *** this work,we successfully synthesized 2,5,8,16,19,22-hexakis[2,6-bis(tri-fluoromethyl)phenyl]hexarylene(H)by using an oxidative fusion reaction of perylene trimer in 5%*** product is soluble in common organic solvents and could be purified with column ***-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the hexarylene core is not disturbed by the substituents very much and is almost *** longest absorption of H exhibits a sharp peak at 831 nm and an on-set at 875 nm in toluene with a small full-width-at-half-maximum(FWHm)of 660 cm^(-1).The molar extinction coefficient is as large as 131,000 m^(-1)cm^(-1).The substituents could not perturb the electronic properties of the hexarylene because aryl groups are perpendicular to the hexarylene core and the carbon atoms at 2,5,16,19-positions have negligible coeffi-cients on its HOmO and LUmO,estimated by theoretical *** a result,the hexarylene having less absorption at the visible light region was stable enough in solution under the LED room light for more than 1 *** strategy gives a useful guideline to establish the near-infrared materials that exhibit stability under ambient conditions.

Implantation of esophageal cancer onto post-dissection ulcer after gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection

A case in which implantation of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma onto a post-dissection gastric ulcer was strongly suspected is presented. A 72-yearold man with alcoholic liver cirrhosis underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy(EGD). Esophageal cancer(EC)(mt, 20 mm, 0-Is) and gastric cancer(GC)(antrum, 15 mm, 0-Ⅱc) were identified. Biopsy specimens revealed moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) and differentiated adenocarcinoma, respectively. The GC was resected by endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD) [14 mm × 9 mm, type 0-Ⅱc, tub1, p T1a(m), ly0, v0, Hm(-), Vm(-)]. Two months after ESD, radiation therapy was started for the EC, and an almost complete response was obtained. Nine months after the ESD, a follow-up EGD showed a submucosal tumor-like lesion with ulceration, located immediately under the post-ESD scar, and biopsy specimens showed moderately differentiated SCC. There were no similar lesions suggesting hematogenous or lymphatic metastasis in the stomach.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a disease of public health concern in Nigeria,with chronic hepatitis B and C infections contributing most to the disease *** the increasing incidence of HCC,surveillance practices for early diagnosis and possible cure are not deeply rooted in the *** article aims to review the current status of HCC surveillance in Nigeria,stressing the encounters,breaches,and potential *** factors,such as limited tools for screening and diagnostics,insufficient infrastructure,and low cognizance among the doctors,and the general public affect the surveillance practices for HCC in ***,the lack of standardized guidelines and protocols for HCC surveillance further intensifies the suboptimal diagnosis and ***,there are opportunities for refining surveillance practices in the *** would be achieved through boosted public health sensitization campaigns,integrating HCC screening into routine clinical services,and leveraging technological developments for early detection and ***,collaboration between government agencies,healthcare providers,and international organizations can facilitate the development of comprehensive HCC surveillance programs person-alized to the Nigerian ***,HCC surveillance practice faces substantial *** addressing the drawbacks and leveraging prospects,Nigeria can improve HCC surveillance,with subsequent improved outcomes for individuals at risk of developing the disease.
