Diabetes among muslims during Ramadan:A narrative review

Fasting during the month of Ramadan is one of the five fundamental principles of Islam,and it is obligatory for healthy muslim adults and *** the fasting month,muslims usually have two meals a day,suhur(before dawn)and iftar(after dusk).However,diabetic patients may face difficulties when fasting,so it is important for medical staff to educate them on safe fasting *** strict fasting can increase the risk of hypoglycemia and diabetic ketoacidosis,but with proper knowledge,careful planning,and medication adjustment,diabetic muslim patients can fast during *** this review,a literature search was conducted using Pubmed and Google scholar until may *** other than the English language were *** strategies for managing blood sugar levels during Ramadan include a combination of patient education on nutrition,regular monitoring of blood glucose,medications,and insulin *** therapy can be continued during fasting if properly titrated to the patients’needs,and finger prick blood sugar levels should be assessed *** certain symptoms such as hypoglycemia,hyperglycemia,dehydration,or acute illness occur,or blood glucose levels become too high(>300 mg/dL)or too low(mg/dL),the fast should be *** insulin formulations such as pegylated insulin and medications like tirzepatide,a dual agonist of gastric-inhibitory peptideand glucagonlike-peptide 1 receptors,have shown promise in managing blood sugar levels during ***-insulin dependent medications like sodium-glucose-cotransporter-2 inhibitors,including the Food and Drug Administration-approved ertugliflozin,are also being used to provide additional cardiovascular benefits in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Electrical features of radio-frequency atmospheric pressure helium discharge with and without dielectric electrodes

A comparative study of radio-frequency atmospheric pressure glow discharge(rf APGD)generated in helium with and without dielectric electrodes to investigate the effect of electrodes insulation on electrical features of APGD is presented. In the α mode, both the rf APGDs remain volumetric, stable and uniform. In the γ mode, the APGD without dielectric electrodes shrinks into a constricted plasma column whereas APGD with dielectric electrodes remains stable and retains the same volume without plasma constriction even at higher densities of discharge current. A comparison of electrical features of both rf APGDs in normal and abnormal glow discharge regimes is presented. In both APGDs with and without dielectric electrodes,impedance measurements have been performed and compared with equivalent circuit *** measured impedance data is found to be in good agreement with simulated data.

study on Optimizing High-Gradient magnetic separation—Part 2: Experimental Evaluation of the Performance of a New Designed magnetic Filter

The introduction of functionalized magnetizable particles and high-gradient magnetic separation represents a time and money saving alternative to conventional purification and separation unit operations in the biotechnical sector. This technique has some advantages especially for the recycling of immobilized enzymes. A new magnetic filter with sight glasses was constructed and produced to study the performance of high-gradient magnetic separation at varied parameters. By optical analysis the buildup of a clogging was identified as the major parameter which affected the separation performance. For the cleaning procedure, a two-phase flow of water with highly dispersed air bubbles was tested which led to a nearly complete cleaning of the filter chamber.

For the long-term fortification of warehoused crops, the insecticidal impact of cold plasma treated wheat seeds against red flour beetles are *** this study, the gain weight loss,mortality and repellency tests of cold plasma treated seeds are investigated and statistical analysis is carried out by sPss *** plasma treatment is carried out at 800 V for 1 and 4 *** results show that the minimum grain weight loss is observed in plasma treated seeds as compared to controlled *** is also observed that the mortality rate is minimum in the controlled seed while maximum at 4 min plasma ***, the repellent effect has a very small variation as compared to the controlled seed for Tribolium ***, plasma treatment can be considered as a practical and effective method for seed protection against red floor beetles particularly during long-term storage by controlling the insecticidal effects.

Thermal-hydraulic performance analysis of a subchannel with square and triangle fuel rod arrangements using the entropy generation approach

The present paper discusses entropy generation in fully developed turbulent flows through a subchannel,arranged in square and triangle arrays. Entropy generation is due to contribution of both heat transfer and pressure drop. Our main objective is to study the effect of key parameters such as spacer grid, fuel rod power distribution,Reynolds number Re, dimensionless heat power ω, lengthto-fuel-diameter ratio λ, and pitch-to-diameter ratio ξ on subchannel entropy generation. The analysis explicitly shows the contribution of heat transfer and pressure drop to the total entropy generation. An analytical formulation is introduced to total entropy generation for situations with uniform and sinusoidal rod power distribution. It is concluded that power distribution affects entropy generation.A smoother power profile leads to less entropy *** entropy generation of square rod array bundles is more efficient than that of triangular rod arrays, and spacer grids generate more entropy.

The introduction of functionalized magnetizable particles for the purification of enzymes or for the multi-use of pre-immobilized biocatalysts offers a great potential for time and cost savings in biotechnological process design. The selective separation of the magnetizable particles is performed for example by a high-gradient magnetic separator. In this study FEm and CFD simulations of the magnetic field and the fluid flow field within a filter chamber of a magnetic separator were carried out, to find an optimal separator design. The motion of virtual magnetizable particles was calculated with a one-way coupled Lagrangian approach in order to test many geometric and parametric variations in reduced time. It was found that a flow homogenisator smoothed the fluid flow, so that the linear velocity became nearly equal over the cross section in the direction of flow. Furthermore the retention of magnetizable particles increases with a high total edge length within the filter matrix.

Approximate energies and thermal properties of a position-dependent mass charged particle under external magnetic fields

We solve the schrodinger equation with a position-dependent mass（PDm） charged particle interacted via the superposition of the morse-plus-Coulomb potentials and is under the influence of external magnetic and Aharonov–Bohm（AB） flux fields. The nonrelativistic bound state energies together with their wave functions are calculated for two spatially-dependent mass distribution functions. We also study the thermal quantities of such a system. Further, the canonical formalism is used to compute various thermodynamic variables for second choosing mass by using the Gibbs formalism. We give plots for energy states as a function of various physical parameters. The behavior of the internal energy, specific heat, and entropy as functions of temperature and mass density parameter in the inverse-square mass case for different values of magnetic field are shown.

This work deals with the numerical localization of small electromagnetic inhomogeneities. The underlying inverse problem considers, in a three-dimensional bounded domain, the time-harmonic maxwell equations formulated in electric field. Typically, the domain contains a finite number of unknown inhomogeneities of small volume and the inverse problem attempts to localize these inhomogeneities from a finite number of boundary measurements. Our localization approach is based on a recent framework that uses an asymptotic expansion for the perturbations in the tangential boundary trace of the curl of the electric field. We present three numerical localization procedures resulting from the combination of this asymptotic expansion with each of the following inversion algorithms： the Current Projection method, the mUltiple signal Classification （mUsIC） algorithm, and an Inverse Fourier method. We perform a numerical study of the asymptotic expansion and compare the numerical results obtained from the three localization procedures in different settings.

Relativistic effect of pseudospin symmetry and tensor coupling on the mie-type potential via Laplace transformation method

A relativistic mie-type potential for spin-1/2 particles is studied. The Dirac Hamiltonian contains a scalar s（r） and a vector V（r） mie-type potential in the radial coordinates, as well as a tensor potential U（r） in the form of Coulomb potential. In the pseudospin（p-spin） symmetry setting Σ = Cps and Δ = V（r）, an analytical solution for exact bound states of the corresponding Dirac equation is found. The eigenenergies and normalized wave functions are presented and particular cases are discussed with any arbitrary spin–orbit coupling number κ. special attention is devoted to the caseΣ = 0 for which p-spin symmetry is exact. The Laplace transform approach（LTA） is used in our calculations. some numerical results are obtained and compared with those of other methods.
