Effect of age on the standardized ileal amino acid digestibility of soybean meal and canola meal in broilers

Standardized ileal digestibility coefficients(SIDC)of nitrogen(N)and amino acids(AA)in two protein sources(soybean meal[SBm]and canola meal[Cm])were investigated at six broiler ages(d 7,14,21,28,35,and 42).Two assay diets were formulated to contain either SBm(413 g/kg)or Cm(553 g/kg)as the sole dietary AA *** dioxide(5 g/kg)was added as an indigestible marker.A total of 696 male broilers at 1 d old were allotted to 12 replicate cages per age *** assay diet was offered to birds for 4 d prior to the ileal digesta collection on d 7(14 birds/cage),14(12 birds/cage),21(10 birds/cage),28(8 birds/cage),35(8 birds/cage)and 42(6 birds/cage),*** apparent digestibility coefficients were standardized using age-specific basal endogenous AA *** the SBm group,though the SIDC of N tended to be influenced(quadratic;P=0.075)by age,no linear or quadratic response of age effect was observed on the average SIDC of indispensable(IAA)and total AA(TAA).An age effect(quadratic;Pm with the highest value recorded at d 7,followed by a decrease from d 14 to 28,which increased beyond d *** SIDC of some individual AA(Arg,Thr,Trp,Cys,Pro)were affected(Pmanner by *** the Cm,the SIDC of N,average SIDC of IAA,DAA and TAA were influenced(quadratic;Pm d 7 to 14,declined at d 21,and then increased beyond d *** average SIDC of IAA was low between d 7 and 28 and increased *** SIDC of individual AA were affected(linear or quadratic;Pmagnitudes by *** age influence on the SIDC AA was variable,depending on the protein source and *** results demonstrate that age-specific SIDC AA data might need consideration in broiler feed formulations.

Influence of barley inclusion method and protease supplementation on growth performance,nutrient utilisation,and gastrointestinal tract development in broiler starters

The influence of the method of barley inclusion(fine,coarse and whole barley)in a wheat-based diet and protease supplementation(0 and 0.20 g/kg)on growth performance,nutrient utilisation and gastrointestinal tract development of broilers(d 1 to 21)was evaluated in a 32 factorial *** barley(WB)grains were ground in a hammer mill to pass through the screen sizes of 2.5 and 8.0 mm to achieve fine(FB)and coarse(CB)barley particle sizes,respectively.A total of 288,one-day-old male broilers were allotted to 36 cages(6 cages/treatment;8 birds/cage).There was no significant(P>0.05)interaction between barley inclusion method and protease for any growth performance or nutrient utilisation *** fed diets containing CB and WB showed higher(Pmatter,nitrogen,calcium,gross energy,and ileal digestible energy compared to those fed FB *** to the birds fed FB diets,feed per gain was lower(Pmade of *** digestibility of the birds fed CB was higher(P0.05)on growth performance and nutrient utilisation,most likely due to the well balanced digestible amino acids and high inherent digestibility of protein in the basal diet,and/or the presence of exogenous carbohydrase and *** conclusion,the present results showed that the inclusion of coarsely ground and whole barley in a wheat-based diet can enhance nutrient and energy utilisation and is beneficial to the growth performance of young broilers.

Changes in soil organic carbon,nitrogen and sulphur along a slope gradient in apple orchard soils of Kashmir Himalaya

Accumulation and losses of soil organic carbon(SOC),total nitrogen(TN)and sulphur(S)influence food security and global ***,their spatial distribution and variability at regional scale,and their relation to topographical variables are of great *** this study,the variability of SOC,TN and S content was evaluated in apple orchard soils of Kashmir region,at three depths(D1:0-10,D2:10-20,and D3:20-30 cm)on slope gradient i.e.:flat,medium,and *** an increase in slope,a significant decrease of SOC and TN was observed,with concentration of SOC and TN recorded highest(14.3±2.06 g kg-1&0.97±0.35 g kg-1)in flat slope orchards and lowest(9.6±2.07 g kg-1&0.84±0.41 g kg-1)in high slope *** stock basis,the values recorded for flat,medium,and high slope orchards,for SOC and TN were 54.62±4.24 mg ha-1&0.38±0.06 mg ha-1,44.13±5.11 mg ha-1&0.32±0.09 mg ha-1,and 38.73±5.94 mg ha-1&0.28±0.10,*** differences for S concentration and stocks were modest,with flat(0.21±0.15 mg kg-1&0.09±0.0.003 mg ha-1)>high(0.16±0.07 mg kg-1&0.06±0.007 mg ha-1)>medium(0.12±0.04 mg kg-1&0.075±0.009 mg ha-1).Across slopes,SOC,TN and S decreased with increasing soil depth,suggesting clear downward ***,SOC and TN increased with the increase of altitude,precipitation and clay content while its relationship with soil acidity and soil bulk density was *** findings may provide scientific basis to structure agricultural development plans or prioritize regions for soil conservation efforts.

On Connected Tetravalent Cayley Graphs of a Non-abelian Group of Order 3p2

In this paper we determine all tetravalent Cayley graphs of a non-abelian group of order 3p2, where p is a prime number greater than 3, and with a cyclic Sylow p-subgroup. We show that all of these tetravalent Cayley graphs are normal. The full automorphism group of these Cayley graphs is given and the half-transitivity and the arc-transitivity of these graphs are investigated. We show that this group is a 5-CI-group.

Dynamic analysis of dam-reservoir-foundation interaction using finite difference technique

Time domain dynamic analysis of inclined dam-reservoir-foundation interaction was conducted using finite difference method （FDm）. The Timoshenko beam theory and the Euler-Bemoulli beam theory were implemented to draw out governing equation of beam. The interactions between the dam and the soil were modeled by using a translational spring and a rotational spring. A Sommerfeld＇s radiation condition at the infinity boundary of the fluid domain was adopted. The effects of the reservoir bottom absorption and surface waves on the dam-reservoir-foundation interaction due to the earthquake were studied. To avoid the instability of solution, a semi-implicit scheme was used for the discretization of the governing equation of dam and an explicit scheme was used for the discretization of the governing equation of fluid. The results show that as the slope of upstream dam increases, the hydrodynamic pressure on the dam is reduced. moreover, when the Timoshenko beam theory is used, the system response increases.

Wear behavior and dry sliding tribological properties of ultra-fine grained Al5083 alloy and boron carbide-reinforced Al5083-based composite at room and elevated temperatures

Tribological behavior and wear mechanisms of mechanically milled Al5083 alloy and Al5083−5wt.%B4C composite at room temperature and 200°C were *** revealed that due to the oxidative wear at room temperature,a mechanically mixed layer(mmL)was formed to protect the surface of the *** 80 N of load at room temperature,the milled Al5083 and the Al5083−5wt.%B4C samples showed evidence of abrasion with limited volume *** this case,the wear rates were 5.8×10−7 and 4.4×10−7 mm3/(m·N),*** 200°C and under 80 N of applied load,severe wear occurred in the milled Al5083 sample,and wear rate reached 10.8×10−7 mm3/(m·N)while the Al5083−5wt.%B4C sample showed mild wear with local 3-body abrasion and the wear rate reached 5.3×10−7 mm3/(m·N).Strengthening mechanisms such as dislocation pinning and the Hall−Petch theory,high hardness and the load transfer effect were crucial in determining the wear behavior of the Al5083−5wt.%B4C *** the other hand,the milled Al5083 sample represented a relatively high wear rate at 200°C,which seemed to be related to the local grain growth and a drop in its hardness.

microstructural characteristics and mechanical behavior of hot extruded Al5083/B4C nanocomposites were ***5083and Al5083/B4C powders were milled for50h under argon atmosphere in attrition mill with rotational speed of400r/*** increasing the elongation,milled powders were mixed with30%and50%unmilled aluminum powder(mass fraction)with meanparticle size of>100μm andm and then consolidated by hot pressing and hot extrusion with9:1extrusion *** extrudedsamples were studied by optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy(SEm),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),transmission electron microscopy(TEm),tensile and hardness *** results showed that mechanical milling process andpresence of B4C particles increase the yield strength of Al5083alloy from130to566mPa but strongly decrease elongation(from11.3%to0.49%).Addingm unmilled particles enhanced the ductility and reduced tensile strength and hardness,but usingthe>100μm unmilled particles reduced the tensile strength and ductility at the same *** increasing the content of unmilledparticles failure mechanism changed from brittle to ductile.

The application of the response surface methodology and the central composite design（CCD） technique for modeling and optimization of the influence of some operating variables on copper,molybdenum and rhenium recoveries in a bioleaching process was *** main bioleaching parameters,namely pH,solid concentration and inoculum percent,were changed during the bioleaching tests based on *** ranges of the bioleaching process variables used in the design were as follows：pH1.46-2.14,solid concentration 0.95%-11.05%,and inoculum percent 1.59%-18.41%.A total of 20 bioleaching tests were carried out by the CCD method according to software-based designed *** model equations were developed according to the copper,molybdenum and rhenium recoveries obtained with these three *** equations of responses at the base of parameters were achieved by using statistical *** model equations were then individually optimized by using quadratic programming to maximize copper,molybdenum and rhenium recoveries individually within the experimental *** optimum conditions for copper recovery were pH 1.68,solid concentration 0.95% and the inoculum 18.41%（v/v）,while molybdenum and rhenium recoveries were 2.18% and 24.41%,*** predicted values for copper,molybdenum and rhenium recoveries were found to be in good agreement with the experimental *** jarosite formation during bioleaching tests was also investigated.

页岩气评价方法及关键参数研究表明,仅靠技术指标来寻找地质甜点并不能实现页岩气的商业经济开发。通过将总有机碳含量、镜质体反射率等技术指标与内部收益率、投资回收期等经济指标相结合,提出一套经济指标和技术指标相结合的研究方法,用以筛选页岩气未开发区的最佳技术经济开发甜点。采用该方法通过总有机碳含量、镜质体反射率、有效储集层厚度和含气量等参数筛选21个地质甜点。再基于类比研究法,以压力梯度、黏土矿物含量、埋藏深度等参数为类比依据,选择Eagle Ford页岩为类比对象,提取采收率和生产曲线两项指标,估算研究区的技术可采储量。在此基础上,结合内部收益率、投资回收期等经济指标评价地质甜点的经济性。应用这套多参数综合评价方法,对伊朗卢雷斯坦地区白垩系页岩气储集层S_(1)层和S_(2)层进行评估,确定该区域的最佳技术经济开发甜点。结果表明,在净现值取其P_(10)值(累计概率10%时对应的参数值)的情况下,技术可采储量和经济可采储量总量分别为7875×10^(8)m^(3)和4306×10^(8)m^(3),有11个地质甜点具有商业开发价值,其中1号甜点价值最高,净现值为35×10^(8)美元。
