A chaotic dynamical system is characterized by a positive averaged exponential separation of two neighboring tra- jectories over a chaotic attractor. Knowledge of the Largest Lyapunov Exponent λ1 of a dynamical system over a bounded attractor is necessary and sufficient for determining whether it is chaotic (λ1>0) or not (λ1≤0). We intended in this work to elaborate the connection between Local Lyapunov Exponents and the Largest Lyapunov Exponent where an alternative method to calculate λ1 has emerged. Finally, we investigated some characteristics of the fixed points and periodic orbits embedded within a chaotic attractor which led to the conclusion of the existence of chaotic attractors that may not embed in any fixed point or periodic orbit within it.

This study aimed to evaluate the anti-hyperglycemic and antioxidant role of Actinidia deliciosa(kiwifruits)aqueous extract in streptozotocin-treated *** were distributed into;control,*** aqueous extract(ADAE;1 g/kg orally),streptozotocin(STZ;50 mg/kg,i.p,single dose),and STZ plus ADAE,*** showed that ADAE had high antioxidant and radical scavenging *** in blood sugar level,lipid peroxidation(LPO),kidney function biomarkers,and perturbations in hematological parameters were observed in diabetic ***,enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants,protein content,and alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity ***,histological,immunohistochemical alpha-smooth muscle actin immunoreactivity(α-SmA-ir)and histochemical(collagen,total protein,DNA,and RNA)alterations were observed in rat ***,STZ produced upregulation of inflammatory associated genes(tumor necrosis factor-alpha;TNF-αand transforming growth factorβ1;TGF-β1)and triggered apoptosis by upregulating apoptotic related gene[Bcl2-associated X protein(Bax)]and downregulating anti-apoptotic related gene B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2)based on real-time PCR ***,diabetic rats administered with ADAE showed significant restoration in LPO,antioxidant status,and biochemical indices besides tissue architecture,and genes improvement regarding STZ ***,*** has a valuable ameliorative infl uence and can restore glucose levels and improve kidney dysfunction in diabetic rats.

The effect of tensile uniaxial strain on the non-parabolic electronic band structure of armchair graphene nanoribbon（AGNR） is *** addition,the density of states and the carrier statistic based on the tight-binding Hamiltonian are modeled *** is found that the property of AGNR in the non-parabolic band region is varied by the *** tunable energy band gap in AGNR upon strain at the minimum energy is described for each of n-AGNR families in the non-parabolic *** behavior of AGNR in the presence of strain is attributed to the breakable AGNR electronic band structure,which varies the physical properties from its *** linear relation between the energy gap and the electrical properties is featured to further explain the characteristic of the deformed AGNR upon strain.

Faradic-based capacitive deionization（FDI） has been widely acknowledged as one of the most promising desalination techniques to solve the freshwater crisis, yet was largely limited by heavily trailed development of its anode materials, which subsequently hindered its desalination performance in terms of both desalination capacity and stability. Herein, we developed a new type of anode material for FDI by coupling chloride-insertion FeOOH with carbon nanotubes（CNTs@FeOOH）. The essence of this study lay in the composition of FeOOH with CNTs that could not only facilitate charge/electron transfer but also prevent structural aggregation. Consequently, the CNTs@FeOOH-based FDI system displays excellent desalination performance(desalination capacity: 50.36 mg g-1; desalination rate: 0.41 mg g-1s-1) with robust long-term stability（13.86 % reduction over 80 cycles）, which could motivate the future development of other highly-efficient desalination systems.

Infection with tapeworms is a major problem in many parts of the world. Patients may be asymptomatic or have a significant morbidity depending on the species. Infection with Taenia species is sometimes found by expulsion of eggs or proglottids in stool. Species specific diagnosis of Taenia is difficult,but possible. We present a case of Taenia saginata incidentally discovered,and risk factors for transmission,diagnosis,symptoms,and treatment.

In this paper, we consider the problem of delay-dependent stability for state estimation of neural networks with two additive time–varying delay components via sampleddata control. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional with triple and four integral terms and by using Jensen's inequality, a new delay-dependent stability criterion is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LmIs) to ensure the asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point of the considered neural networks. Instead of the continuous measurement,the sampled measurement is used to estimate the neuron states, and a sampled-data estimator is constructed. Due to the delay-dependent method, a significant source of conservativeness that could be further reduced lies in the calculation of the time-derivative of the Lyapunov functional. The relationship between the time-varying delay and its upper bound is taken into account when estimating the upper bound of the derivative of Lyapunov functional. As a result, some less conservative stability criteria are established for systems with two successive delay components. Finally, numerical example is given to show the superiority of proposed method.

Recently,significant efforts have been exerted to replace mineral oil with environmentally friendly oils due to safety and environmental ***,there is a need to clarify the physical mechanisms behind the ageing impact of these *** authors use advanced optical spectroscopy techniques in correlation with dielectric measurements to understand the ageing processes in environmentally friendly oils as well as mineral ***,different samples of environmentally friendly oils and mineral oil were utilised to investigate the ageing *** samples were subjected to different ageing periods using a thermal accelerated ageing ***,the severity of the produced byproducts due to the oil degradation is examined based on several measured properties representing macroscopic and microscopic *** macroscopic category was evaluated through dielectric properties,including breakdown voltage,dielectric permittivity,and dissipation *** microscopic category,on the other hand,was assessed using techniques such as ultraviolet-visible absorption spectroscopy and photoluminescence *** techniques enabled a deep understanding of the molecular-level changes occurring in the oil under ageing conditions,thereby getting new insights into oil ageing *** is worth mentioning that natural ester oil demonstrated the most favourable performance across various properties under ageing conditions.

Ag/Ga were incorporated into resorbable orthopaedic phosphate bioactive glasses(PBG,containing P,Ca,mg,Na,and Fe)thin films to demonstrate their potential to limit growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in post-operative prosthetic *** target consecutive co-sputtering was uniquely employed to produce a 46 nm Ag:PBG composite observed by high resolution TEm to consist of uniformly dispersed~5 nm metallic Ag nano-particles in a glass ***^(3+)was integrated into a phosphate glass preform target which was magnetron sputtered to film thicknesses of~400 or 1400 *** coatings exhibited high surface energy of 75.4-77.3 mN/m,attributed to the presence of hydrolytic P-O-P structural surface *** profiles obtained in deionized water,nutrient broth and cell culture medium showed varying ion release profiles,whereby Ga release was measured in 1400 nm coating by ICP-mS to be~6,27,and 4 ppm respectively,fully dissolving by 24 *** of Ag nanoparticles was only observed in nutrient broth(~9 ppm by 24 h).Quantification of colony forming units after 24 h showed encouraging antibacterial efficacy towards both ***(4-log reduction for Ag:PBG and 6-log reduction for Ga-PBG≈1400 nm)and ***(5-log reduction for all physical vapour deposited layers)*** Hs27 fibroblast and mesenchymal stem cell line in vitro tests indicated good cytocompatibility for all sputtered layers,with a marginal cell proliferation inertia in the case of the Ag:PBG composite thin *** study therefore highlights the(i)significant manufacturing development via the controlled inclusion of metallic nanoparticles into a PBG glass matrix by dual consecutive target co-sputtering and(ii)potential of PBG resorbable thin-film structures to incorporate and release cytocompatible/antibacterial *** architectures showed prospective bio-functional performance for a future generation of endo-osseous implant-type coatings.
