Impact of surgical management of upper tract urothelial cancer in octogenarians:A population-based study

This research systematically examined the degradation,antibacterial effects,and biocompatibility of micro-arc oxidation(mAO)coatings with nano CuO and ZnO on extruded mg *** copper(Cu)and Zinc(Zn)possess antibacterial *** findings demonstrated that adding ZnO will appreciably reduce the degradation rate of mAO-coating alloy due to the self-sealing micro ***+mAO coating exhibited excellent antibacterial performance,with an antibacterial rate of over 90%within 6 h co-cultured with Staphylococcus ***,the antibacterial rate of ZnO+mAO coating reached 90%after 12 h *** test using mG63 cell indicated that the incorporation of CuO and ZnO did not notably affect the cell viability rate of the ***,after 14 days of culture,the CuO+mAO and ZnO+mAO coated samples exhibited higher alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity than the mAO-coated and uncoated samples,suggesting favorable osteogenic properties.

Toxicological and Life-Cycle Perspectives on Waste-Derived Nanoparticles

many nanoparticles have been created over the last few decades using a variety of techniques and used to develop environmental technology, including water treatment, the detection of persistent contaminants, and soil and water remediation. The studies of alternative inputs for nanoparticle production as well as the use of green synthesis techniques are driven by the field of materials science and engineering’s growing interest in increasing the sustainability of the processes involved in their production. In this paper, we begin by providing an overview of the fundamental principles of producing nanoparticles from different sources, such as plastic, electronic, metal, and industrial waste. We elaborate on key facts of waste identification as a workable input for the treatment and recovery of metal and carbon-based nanoparticles. We next go over several controlling factors that play a role in creating nanoparticles, pointing out probable conclusions as we go. Then, we show some instances of waste-derived nanoparticles used in a proof-of-concept experiment of technology for applications in water quality and safety. Before scaling up production and implementing waste-derived nanoparticles, there are several present problems from the toxicological and life-cycle perspectives that must be taken into account.

Determining the component-based operative time learning curve for robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy

Objectives:To determine the learning curve(LC)of total operative time and the discrete components of the robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy(RARP)for a recent robotic fellowship-trained urologic *** and methods:We performed a retrospective analysis of RARP procedures performed by a single new attending surgeon from August 2015 to April ***'demographics and operative details were *** operative time was divided and prospectively recorded in 7 parts:(a)docking robot,(b)dissecting seminal vesicles(SVs)(c)dissecting endopelvic fascia(EPF),(d)incising bladder neck(BN),(e)completing the dissection,(f)lymph node dissection,and(g)urethrovesical anastomosis(UVA)and robot *** sum analysis was used to ascertain the LC for total operative time and the 7 parts of the ***:One hundred twenty consecutive RARPs were *** LC was overcome at 25 cases for total operative time,13 cases for docking the robot,33 cases for dissecting SVs,31 cases for dissecting EPF,46 cases for incising BN,38 cases for prostate dissection,25 cases for lymph node dissection,and 52 cases for *** operative time was decreased 22.8%(pme for robot docking,dissecting SVs,dissecting EPF,incising BN,completing prostate dissection,lymph node dissection,and UVA were decreased 16.7%,30.5%,29.5%,36.2%,37.3%,32.2%,and 26.9%,respectively(all pmance of RARP *** components demonstrated variable LCs including the UVA that required upward of 52 cases.

TiO_2-water nanofluid in a porous channel under the effects of an inclined magnetic field and variable thermal conductivity

The TiO2-water based nanofluid flow in a channel bounded by two porous plates under an oblique magnetic field and variable thermal conductivity is formulated as a boundary-value problem(BVP). The BVP is analytically solved with the homotopy analysis method(HAm). The result shows that the concentration of the nanoparticles is independent of the volume fraction of TiO2nanoparticles, the magnetic field intensity, and the angle. It is inversely proportional to the mass diffusivity. The fluid speed decreases whereas the temperature increases when the volume fraction of the TiO2nanoparticles increases. This confirms the fact that the occurrence of the TiO2nanoparticles results in the increase in the thermal transfer rate. The fluid speed decreases and the temperature increases for both the pure water and the nanofluid when the magnetic field intensity and angle increase. The maximum velocity does not exist at the middle of the symmetric channel, which is in contrast to the plane-Poiseuille flow, but it deviates a little bit towards the lower plate, which absorbs the fluid with a very low suction velocity. If this suction velocity is increased, the temperature in the vicinity of the lower plate will be *** explicit expression for the friction factor-Reynolds number is then developed. It is shown that the Hartmann number of the nanofluid is smaller than that of pure water,while the Nusselt number of the nanofluid is larger than that of pure water. However,both the parameters increase if the magnetic field intensity increases.

Fallopian tube assessment of the peristaltic-ciliary flow of a linearly viscous fluid in a finite narrow tube

The present theoretical assessment deals with the peristaltic-ciliary trans- port of a developing embryo within a fallopian tubal fluid in the human fallopian tube. A mathematical model of peristalsis-cilia induced flow of a linearly viscous fluid within a fallopian tubal fluid in a finite two-dimensional narrow tube is developed. The lubrica- tion approximation theory is used to solve the resulting partial differential equation. The expressions for axial and radial velocities, pressure gradient, stream function, volume flow rate, and time mean volume flow rate are derived. Numerical integration is performed for the appropriate residue time over the wavelength and the pressure difference over the wavelength. moreover, the plots of axial velocity, the appropriate residue time over wavelength, the vector, the pressure difference over wavelength, and the streamlines are displayed and discussed for emerging parameters and constants. Salient features of the pumping characteristics and the trapping phenomenon are discussed in detail. Yhrther- more, a comparison between the peristaltic flow and the peristaltic-ciliary flow is made as the special case. Relevance of the current results to the transport of a developing embryo within a fallopian tubal fluid from ampulla to the intramural in the fallopian tube is also explored. It reveals the fact that cilia along with peristalsis helps to complete the required mitotic divisions while transporting the developing embryo within a fallopian tubal fluid in the human fallopian tube.

Hydrodynamics of viscous fluid through porous slit with linear absorption

The exact solutions for the viscous fluid through a porous slit with linear ab- sorption are obtained. The Stokes equation with non-homogeneous boundary conditions is solved to get the expressions for the velocity components, pressure distribution, wall shear stress, fractional absorption, and leakage flux. The volume flow rate and mean flow rate are found to be useful in obtaining a convenient form of the longitudinal velocity component and pressure difference. The points of the maximum velocity components for a fixed axial distance are identified. The value of the linear absorption parameter is ran- domly chosen, and the rest available data of the rat kidney to the tabulate pressure drop and fractional absorption are incorporated. The effects of the linear absorption, uniform absorption, and flow rate parameters on the flow properties are discussed by graphs. It is found that forward flow occurs only if the volume flux per unit width is greater than the absorption velocity throughout the length of the slit, otherwise back flow may occur. The leakage flux increases with the increase in the linear absorption parameter. Streamlines are drawn to help the analysis of the flow behaviors during the absorption of the fluid flow through the renal tubule and purification of blood through an artificial kidney.
