In this paper, we establish a quite general mean value result of arithmetic functions over short intervals with the Selberg-Delange method and give some applications. In particular, we generalize Selberg's result on the distribution of integers with a given number of prime factors and Deshouillers-Dress-Tenenbaum's arcsin law on divisors to the short interval case.

Flowering plant （angiosperm） genomes are exceptional in their variability with respect to genome size, ploidy, chromosome number, gene content, and gene arrangement. Gene movement, although observed in some of the earliest plant genome comparisons, has been relatively underinvestigated. We present here- in a description of several interesting properties of plant gene and genome structure that are pertinent to the successful movement of a gene to a new location. These considerations lead us to propose a model that can explain the frequent success of plant gene mobility, namely that Small Insulated Genes move Around （SlGmAR）. The SIGmAR model is then compared with known processes for gene mobilization, and predic- tions of the SIGmAR model are formulated to encourage future experimentation. The overall results indicate that the frequent gene movement in angiosperm genomes is partly an outcome of the unusual properties of angiosperm genes, especially their small size and insulation from epigenetic silencing.

Titanocene alanine complex, Cp2Ti(O2CCH(CH3)NH3+Cl-)(2), has been found to have in vitro antitumor activity against Ehrlich ascites tumor cells. Study of the interaction between Cp2Ti(O2CCH(CH3)NH3+Cl-)(2) and DNA by UV-VIS spectra, fluorescence spectra, agarose gel electrophoresis reveals that Cp2Ti(O2CCH(CH3)NH3+Cl-)(2) forms a stable compound with DNA in molar ratio 1:1 and reduces the migration rate of ccc-DNA band and oc-DNA band. However, unlike cisplatin, the complex does not induce nicking of DNA even after a long incubation at a high ratio of the complex to DNA. The results suggest that titanocene-based antitumor agents have different mechanism of action from cisplatin-like antitumor agents.

In total, 177 of 245 terrestrial carnivores are described as solitary, and much of carnivore ecology is built on the assumptions that interactions between adult solitary carnivores are rare. We employed Global Positioning System （GPS） technology and motion-triggered cameras to test predictions of land-tenure territoriality and the resource dispersion hypothesis in a territorial carnivore, the puma Puma concolor. We documented 89 independent GPS interactions, 60% of which occurred at puma kills （n=53）, 59 camera interactions, 11 （17%） of which captured courtship behaviors, and 5 other interactions （1 F-F, 3 m-F, and 1 m-m）. mean minimum weekly contact rates were 5.5 times higher in winter, the season when elk Cervus elaphus were aggregated at lower elevations and during which puma courtship primarily occurred. In winter, contacts rates were 0.6_＋ 0.3 （standard devi- ation （SD）） interactions/week vs. 0.1 _＋ 0.1 （SD） interactions/week during summer. The preponder- ance of interactions at food sources supported the resource dispersion hypothesis, which predicts that resource fluxes can explain temporary social behaviors that do not result in any apparent benefits for the individuals involved. Conspecific tolerance is logical when a prey is so large that the predator that killed it cannot consume it entirely, and thus, the costs of tolerating a conspecific sharing the kill are less than the potential costs associated with defending it and being injured. Puma aggregations at kills numbered as high as 9, emphasizing the need for future research on what explains tolerance among solitary carnivores.

Recently the lHCb Collaboration [1] published the results of a search for the doubly charmed baryon ■. No significant signal is seen in the mass range from 3.4 to3.8 Ge V. To put this result in context, the ■baryon was seen by lHCb in decay modes ΛcK-π^+π^+[2](2017) and ■^+cπ^+[3](2018). The weighted average of the ■^++cc mass is 3621.24±0.65 (stat.)±0.31 (syst.) meV [3].

Selection of better optimized unified power flow controller （UPFC） control inputs along with simultaneous coordinated design of power system stabilizer （PSS） is a challenge in the present scenario of power systems. Hence, in this paper, four sets of experiments performed are presented. First set of experiments are without disturbance scenario where switching is done using linear quadratic regulators （lQR＇s）. Second set is for power systems with disturbances using linear quadratic gaussian （lQG）. Switching control algorithms presented here are tested on the single machine infinite bus （SmIB） linearised Phillips Heffron model of power system using mATlAB/SImUlINK~ platform.

This paper presents a novel composite wide area control of a DFIG wind energy system which combines the Robust Exact Differentiator(RED)and Discontinuous Integral(DI)control to damp out inter-area *** generates the real-time differentiation of a relative speed signal in a noisy environment while DI control,an extension to a twisting algorithm and PID control,develops a continuous control signal and hence reduces *** proposed control is robust to disturbances and can enhance the overall stability of the *** proposed composite sliding mode control is evaluated using a modified benchmark two-area power system model with wind energy *** results under various operating scenarios show the efficacy of the proposed approach.
