Objective:To evaluate the effect of resveratrol against CCl4-induced ***:Forty-two male Wistar rats were divided into seven groups *** six weeks,kidney weight,body weight,blood urea,serum creatinine,oxidative stress markers,and gene expression of renal transforming growth factor-beta1(TGF-β1),TGF-βreceptor type 1(TGF-βR1)and Smad3 were *** addition,the protein level of TGF-β1 in the tissue lysate was ***:Resveratrol had a protective role in renal tissue by the improvement of antioxidant balance and reduction of renal parameters such as creatinine and urea(Pm RNA level of TGF-β1,TGF-βR1,Smad3,as well as the protein level of TGF-β1 were decreased in rats treated with resveratrol(Pmpared to the CCl4 ***:Overall,resveratrol shows a protective effect against nephrotoxicity in CCl4 treated rats by reducing oxidative stress status and modulating the TGF-βsignaling.

Pure titanium samples were aluminized at 950,1025 and 1100 ℃ for 0-6 h in a pack containing 10%Al＋5%NaF＋85%Al2O3 in mass *** aluminized layers formed on the samples were *** kinetic studies indicated that the diffusion of Al-bearing gases through the pack is the rate-controlling step in this *** activation energy of 161.8 kJ/mol was calculated for this *** addition,the mass gains of the aluminized samples were predicted using the partial pressures of gases in the pack and those adjacent to the samples *** predicted values are in good agreement wim the experimental measurements at 950 ℃ but are higher than those measured at 1025 and 1100 ℃.

In this work the statistical mechanical equation of state was developed for volumetric properties of crystalline and amorphous polymer *** Ihm-Song-mason equations of state(ISmEOS) based on temperature and density at melting point(T_m and ρ_m) as scaling constants were developed for crystalline polymers such as poly(propylene glycol) + poly(ethylene glycol)-200(PPG + PEG-200),poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether-300(PEGmE-350) + PEG-200 and PEGmE-350 + ***,for amorphous polymer blends containing poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide)(PPO) + polystyrene(PS) and PS + poly(vinylmethylether)(PVmE),the density and surface tension at glass transition(ρ_g and γ_g) were used for estimation of second Virial *** calculation of second Virial coefficients(B_2),effective van der Waals co-volume(b) and correction factor(α) was required for judgment about applicability of this *** obtained results by ISmEOS for crystalline and amorphous polymer blends were in good agreement with the experimental data with absolute average deviations of 0.84%and 1.04%,respectively.

分别在敞开和密闭系统中进行纯钛和纯镍的气相渗铝实验。渗铝实验在1100℃下进行3h,包埋粉末含10%Al、5%NH4Cl和85%Al2O3。在敞开条件下,渗铝后纯钛的表面会生成α(Al)固溶体,样品的质量损失达到32.37%。然而,在密闭条件下,纯钛样品的表面生成TiAl3层和α(Al)固溶体,没有质量损失。热力学分析表明,在敞开条件下对纯钛渗铝时,会生成钛的氯化物,导致其质量减少。而在密闭条件下,由于生成的氯化物会达到平衡状态而使生成反应停止。相反,无论是在敞开或密闭条件下,纯镍样品都可以进行表面渗铝,不会导致质量损失。在两种状态下,镍的表面都生成了AlNi和Ni3Al相。

The effect of resonant cavity structure on the performance operation of In As/Ga As quantum ring intersubband photodetector is studied for detection of terahertz radiations *** order to confinement of optical field w ithin active region and consequently enhancement in responsivity of device,tw o periods of Al2O3/Ga As distributed bragg reflectors are used as bottom dielectric mirror and a thin layer of Au material as top mirror of *** further improvement in detectivity,Al0.3Ga0.7As/In0.3Ga0.7As resonant tunneling barriers are included in absorption layers to reduce dark current of *** photodetector show s a peak responsivity of about 0.4(A/W)and quantum efficiency of 1.2%at the w avelength of 80μm(3.75 THz).Furthermore,specific detectivity(D*)of device is calculated and results are compared to conventional quantum ring inter-subband *** predict a D*of^1011(***1/2/W)for device at T=80 K and V=0.4 V w hich is tw o orders of magnitude higher than that of conventional QRIPs.

Safety threshold of intravitreal clonidine in rabbit's eyes

AIm： To determine the safe dose of intravitreal clonidine（IVC）, a potential drug for neuroprotection and angiogenesis inhibition in rabbits. mETHODS： A total of 28 rabbits were divided into four groups. Three groups received IVC with concentrations of 15（Group A）, 25（Group B）, and 50（Group C） g/0.1 m L and the control group（Group D） received 0.1 m L balanced salt solution（BSS）. To investigate IVC safety, electroretinography（ERG） was performed at baseline, then at 1, 4 and 8 wk after injection. After last ERG, all rabbits were euthanized, their eyes were enucleated and subjected to routine histopathological evaluation, immunohistochemistry for glial fibrillary acidic protein（GFAP） and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase d UTP nick end labeling（TUNEL） ***： Based on ERG, histopathology, GFAP and TUNEL assay findings, 15 g IVC was determined as the safe dose in rabbit eyes. While, the results of routine histopathology and TUNEL assay were unremarkable in all groups, toxic effects attributed to 25 and 50 g IVC were demonstrated by ERG and GFAP tests. CONCLUSION： Totally 15 g clonidine is determined as the safe dose for intravitreal injection in rabbits. Contribution of IVC in neuroprotection and inhibition of angiogenesis deserve more studies.

Physical modeling has played an important role in studies related to complex tunnel *** method is still used despite the high investment costs for experimental facilities and the contrasting declining numerical modeling *** of limitations in numerical models for correct implementation of soil and rock behavior(*** linear response,strength anisotropy,accumulation of damage within cemented materials etc.) physical models still can be used to calibrate numerical models.A variety of modeling techniques have been developed by researchers to study ground response due to in-situ stress field. These techniques range from two-dimensional models to miniature tunnel boring machines that simulate the process of tunnel excavation and lining installation in a centrifuge. Physical modeling utilizes similarity theory and dimensional *** rules of these theories dictate material and model properties,the manner of applying forces and field stresses,method of model construction,boundary conditions,monitoring and so on. In this paper,methods of making various physical models and their conditions together with the parameters that need to be determined accurately are ***,a model is tested in the laboratory for studying rules that is reviewed in this paper. Results of the paper show that physical models can provide valuable data that can be used to validate and calibrate numerical models.A visual control that provides a deep insight for the researcher about different modes of instability that gradually builds up is also a valuable output of physical modeling. Different methods have been developed to simulate the process of tunnel construction.A pulling pipe method is used in this study the results of which are shown in the paper.

Complement receptor 2 （CR2/CD21） is predominantly expressed on the surface of mature B cells where it forms part of a coreceptor complex that functions, in part, to modulate B-cell receptor signal strength. CR2/CD21 expression is tightly regulated throughout B-cell development such that CR2/CD21 cannot be detected on pre-B or terminally differentiated plasma cells. CR2/CD21 expression is upregulated at B-cell maturation and can be induced by IL-4 and CD40 signaling pathways. We have previously characterized elements in the proximal promoter and first intron of CR2/CD21 that are involved in regulating basal and tissue-specific expression. We now extend these analyses to the CR2/CD21 core promoter. We show that in mature B cells, CR2/~D21 transcription proceeds from a focused TSS regulated by a non-consensus TATA box, an initiator element and a downstream promoter element. Furthermore, occupancy of the general transcriptional machinery in pre-B versus mature B-cell lines correlate with CR2/CD21 expression level and indicate that promoter accessibility must switch from inactive to active during the transitional B-cell window.
