＜正＞An adaptive data structure for efficient coding of the encoded video signals is *** new video coding algorithm restructures the fixed data structure of conventional hybrid predictive/transform image coding algorithm such that more efficient data representation of the information is achieved.A novel Conditional Quadtree Data Structure is proposed which renders an significant gain in compression ratio that is on average 25%better than a fixed block size algorithm and the PSNR is only a fraction of a decibel lower than a fixed block size *** new algorithm has been tested on two distinctively different sequence of images.

mitigating osteonecrosis of the jaw(ONj) through preventive dental care and understanding of risk factors

It is well established that alterations in phosphate metabolism have a profound effect on hard and soft tissues of the oral cavity. The present-day clinical form of osteonecrosis of the jaw(ONj) was preceded by phosphorus necrosis of the jaw, ca. 1860. The subsequent removal of yellow phosphorus from matches in the early 20 th century saw a parallel decline in "phossy jaw" until the early 2000 s, when similar reports of unusual jaw bone necrosis began to appear in the literature describing jaw necrosis in patients undergoing chemotherapy and concomitant steroid and bisphosphonate treatment. Today, the potential side effect of ONj associated with medications that block osteoclast activity(antiresorptive) is well known, though the mechanism remains unclear and the management and outcomes are often unsatisfactory. much of the existing literature has focused on the continuing concerns of appropriate use of bisphosphonates and other antiresorptive medications, the incomplete or underdeveloped research on ONj, and the use of drugs with anabolic potential for treatment of osteoporosis. While recognizing that ONj is a rare occurrence and ONj-associated medications play an important role in fracture risk reduction in osteoporotic patients, evidence to date suggests that health care providers can lower the risk further by dental evaluations and care prior to initiating antiresorptive therapies and by monitoring dental health during and after treatment. This review describes the current clinical management guidelines for ONj, the critical role of dental-medical management in mitigating risks, and the current understanding of the effects of predominantly osteoclast-modulating drugs on bone homeostasis.

＜正＞The aim of this paper is to use the thermoelastic stress analysis （TSA） technique to determine the load transfer mechanisms in sandwich construction tee joints, which have been environmentally aged, and to assess how their performance has changed with respect to the unaged case. An extensive literature review has shown that although a wealth of information exists on the long-term performance of FRP materials exposed to hygrothermal environments, the behaviour of aged composite sandwich structures has not been addressed. The purpose of this work is to begin to fill this void.

沟鞭藻是反映现代海洋和湖泊生态条件的单细胞生物,其最早的无可争议的化石纪录是从中三叠世(约240ma前)开始。最近,moldowan等(1996)在对不同地质时代海相岩石的调查中,发现在前寒武纪至泥盆纪富有机质的沉积岩石中具有丰富的三芳甲藻甾烷。Summons等(1992)也注意到甲藻甾烷出现在前寒武纪岩石抽提有机质中。而作为甲藻甾类烃(甲藻甾烷和三芳甲藻甾烷)的生物化学先质的甲藻甾醇是唯一由沟鞭藻衍生的(Volkman等,1990;1998)。这种甲藻甾烷与沟鞭藻之间的亲缘关系几乎可将其作为证明沟鞭藻存在的生物分子化石。moldowan和Talyzina(1998)在一些已知形态特征的经过富集了的早寒武世(约520ma以前)微化石中鉴定出了一系列沟鞭藻生源的生物标志物(甲藻甾烷和4α-甲基-24-乙基胆甾烷),并认为这些微化石是古老的沟鞭藻祖先。

Atrazine Sorption by Biochar, Tire Chips, and Steel Slag as media for Blind Inlets: A Kinetic and Isotherm Sorption Approach

Surface inlets are installed in subsurface drainage systems to reduce ponding duration and surface runoff, but can contribute to water quality concerns by allowing water to directly enter buried drains. Blind inlets consist of perforated pipes covered with gravel and are separated from an overlying sand layer by a geotextile membrane and have been shown to be more effective in reducing losses of sediment, nutrients, and pesticides than typical tile line risers. In this study, we investigated whether the effectiveness of blind inlets to sorb pollutants, with emphasis on the herbicide atrazine, could be further improved by amended them with materials other than limestone. The media, shredded tires (tire chips), electric arc steel furnace slag (steel slag), and oak-derived biochar were chosen because they are readily available, inexpensive, and do not present environmental concerns. Kinetic sorption and isotherms were determined to ascertain atrazine sorption by these materials, in addition to testing for potential metal leaching using the Synthetic Precipitation Leaching Procedure (SPLP) and the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP). The kinetic data were fitted using pseudo first- and second-order reaction equations and indicated that atrazine sorption rate was 38 times faster and equilibrium was reached 5 times earlier for biochar than tire chips. The 24-h sorption isotherm data were fitted to the Freundlich sorption equation. The sorption coefficient for biochar was higher than for tire chips, steel slag, and limestone. Per the SPLC and TLCP tests, there was no leaching of heavy metals at levels of environmental concern. Our results suggested that the effectiveness of blind inlets as well as other conservation practices that include filter media such as rain gardens and filter socks could be improved by incorporating more reactive materials than sand and gravel with biochar being a particularly effective alternative.

A meta-analysis of global crop water productivity of three leading world crops(wheat,corn,and rice)in the irrigated areas over three decades

The overarching goal of this study was to perform a comprehensive metaanalysis of irrigated agricultural Crop Water Productivity(CWP)of the world’s three leading crops:wheat,corn,and rice based on three decades of remote sensing and non-remote sensing-based ***,CWP data from 148 crop growing study sites(60 wheat,43 corn,and 45 rice)spread across the world were gathered from published articles spanning 31 different *** was overwhelming evidence of a significant increase in CWP with an increase in latitude for predominately northern hemisphere *** example,corn grown in latitude 40–50°had much higher mean CWP(2.45 kg/m^(3))compared to mean CWP of corn grown in other latitudes such as 30–40°(1.67 kg/m^(3))or 20–30°(0.94 kg/m^(3)).The same trend existed for wheat and rice as *** soils,none of the CWP values,for any of the three crops,were statistically ***,mean CWP in higher latitudes for the same soil was significantly higher than the mean CWP for the same soil in lower *** applied for all three crops *** wheat,the global CWP categories were low(≤0.75 kg/m^(3)),medium(>0.75 tom^(3)),and high CWP(≥1.10 kg/m^(3)).For corn the global CWP categories were low(≤1.25 kg/m^(3)),medium(>1.25 to≤1.75 kg/m^(3)),and high(>1.75 kg/m^(3)).For rice the global CWP categories were low(≤0.70 kg/m^(3)),medium(>0.70 to≤1.25 kg/m^(3)),and high(>1.25 kg/m^(3)).USA and China are the only two countries that have consistently high CWP for wheat,corn,and *** and India have medium CWP for wheat and ***’s corn,however,has low ***,Turkey,Netherlands,mexico,and Israel have high CWP for ***,Argentina,and Hungary have high CWP for corn,and Philippines has high CWP for *** other countries have either low or medium CWP for all three *** on data in this study,the highest consumers of water for crop production also have the most potential for water *** countries are USA

水-油界面不平衡是实现油水乳液破乳的关键。传统膜通常是依赖较高的跨膜压力破坏界面平衡而实现破乳。本文提出了可自然、快速地破坏水-油界面平衡的“接触破乳”的概念,开发了一种对有机组分具有高通量的新型破乳分离膜。具体制备过程分为两步,首先通过真空辅助抽滤法在聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)基底上组装ZIF-8@rGO微球(ZGS)层,再采用聚二甲基硅氧烷(PDmS)交联溶液中进行固定化处理。由于ZGS表面为微纳米阶层结构,所制备的ZIF-8@rGO@PDmS/PTFE(ZGPP)膜表面展现出超疏水性特性,当表面活性剂稳定的油包水乳液接触到膜表面时,微纳结构的超疏水膜表面会引起水-油界面不平衡。ZGPP膜对油包水乳液具有良好的分离破乳性能,在0.15 bar(15 kPa)的低跨膜压力下,分离效率可以达到99.57%,通量可达到2254 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1),且对于表面活性剂稳定的纳米级甲苯-水乳剂(平均液滴尺寸为57 nm)的体系也可以实现破乳分离。“接触破乳”概念的提出有望为开发新一代油包水乳液分离的破乳膜提供新的思路。
