BACKGROUND Autoimmunity has emerged as a probable disease modifier in patients with clinically diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2Dm),that is,patients who have insulin resistance,obesity,and other cardiovascular risk factors,suggesting that the presence of glutamic acid decarboxylase(anti-GAD65),islet antigen 2(anti-ia2),and zinc transporter 8(anti-Zn8T)antibodies could have deleterious effects on beta cell function,causing failure and earlier requirement for insulin *** To evaluate anti-GAD65,anti-ia2 and anti-Zn8T as predictors of early insulin requirement in adolescents with a clinical diagnosis of *** This was a case–control study in patients with clinically diagnosed with T2Dm(68 cases and 64 controls with and without early insulin dependence respectively),male and female,aged 12–18 ***,blood pressure,glucose,insulin,C-peptide,glycated hemoglobin A1c,and lipid profiles were *** was used to measure anti-GAD65,anti-ia2,and anti-Zn8T *** statistics,Pearson'sχ2 test,Student's t test,and logistic regression was performed.Phere were 132 patients(53.8%female),with a mean age was 15.9±1.3 years,and there was a disease evolution time of 4.49±0.88 *** presence of anti-GAD65,anti-ia2,and anti-Zn8T positivity was found in 29.5%,18.2%,and 15.9%,*** the groups by early or no insulin dependence showed that the group with insulin had a higher frequency of antibody positivity:anti-GAD65 odds ratio(OR):2.42(1.112–5.303,P=0.026);anti-ia2:OR:1.55(0.859–2.818,P=0.105);and anti-Zn8T:OR:7.32(2.039–26.279,P=0.002).CONCLUSION Anti-GAD65 positivity was high in our ***-GAD65 and anti-Zn8T positivity showed a significantly depleted beta cell reserve phenotype,leading to an increased risk of early insulin dependence.

We propose using the concept of decisive moment in order to deconstruct the obvious ideological effects found in discourse. The subject is constituted in enunciation, and its polysemic discourse clashes with the transparency of meaning. According to Pêcheux （1988）, the contradictions in discourse simultaneously establish regularity and instability of meanings, leading it to misunderstanding, to the event. Photography destabilizes that which is already formulated and brings out that which is new, the unexpected meaning, the decisive moment. This study investigated the water use efficiency and yield for the production of green ears of corn subjected to irrigation with drip system and with potassium fertilizer levels in Sumé, Paraiba State, Brazil. The experimental design was a randomized design with four replications in a split plot design with six water slides (0.25 ETcp, 0.50 ETcp, 0.75 ETcp, 1.00 ETcp, 1.25 ETcp and 1.50 ETcp) and six doses of potassium (0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 kg·ha-1). The maize hybrid AG 1051 was mechanically sown on 13/01/2012 and the spikes in the green stage (doughy grains) were harvested 67 days after planting. Water consumption for producing one ton of maize cobs in the slides 132, 264, 396, 528, 660, and 792 mm of water within all treatments of potassium fertilization increased, indicating that the WUE decreases with the increasing amount of water applied via irrigation. Therefore, it was observed that the water use efficiency average was 61.76 mm·t-1 (2.02 kg·m3), i.e. for each m3 of water used 2.02 kg of ears of corn were produced with default. The application of 680.64 mm of water and 72.14 kg·ha-1 potassium maximized the yield of ears, resulting in the maximum yield of ears of 10.82 t·ha-1.

Grain Yield Differences of Soybean Cultivars Due to Solar Radiation Interception

Soybean [Glycine max (L.) merr.] growth rate and grain yield are modified by the interception and solar radiation use efficiency. Thus, it is desirable that the most of plant photosynthetic structures intercepting solar radiation in order to have increment in carbon fixation and reflection on growth and yield. The goal of this study was to assess if soybean cultivars differ in grain yield in relation to solar radiation interception. Four soybean cultivars were evaluated at stages V6, V9, R2, R4, R6 and R8. To determine the photosynthetically active radiation interception by the canopy, the plants were divided into two parts (upper and lower strata). For grain yield components, the plants were divided into three parts (upper, middle and lower thirds). Of the photosynthetically active radiation intercepted by the vegetative canopy at the reproductive stages, the maximum observed intercept was 5.2% in the lower stratum of the plants. The number of infertile nodes increased in the lower third of plants due to low interception of solar radiation in this plant region. Thus, the soybean cultivars more efficient in intercepting photosynthetically active radiation inside the vegetative canopy showed higher grain yields.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to develop a cheap, locally made and friendly applicable phantom for gamma camera quality control and to test its validity relative to standard results (intrinsic and extrinsic spatial linearity and intrinsic and extrinsic uniformity) of gamma camera SPECT. And the significance of this experimental study was to introduce a multi-purpose phantom for gamma camera which could overcome the risk accompanied by quality control test procedure such as detector crystal damage and the appearance of moiré patterns. The results of the developed phantom showed an average count difference of 0.7% relative to the standard phantom and about 4% in X- to Y-axis directions relative to the standard phantom. Also, the measured absolute linearity was 0.63 mm in X direction and 0.64 mm in Y direction for the UFOV compare with 0.70 mm value of acceptance test. And the I.U. and D.U. of the developed phantom were 3.18% and 2.27% respectively for the UFOV relative to the standard phantom I.U. and D.U. (2.0% and 1.5%) for the UFOV respectively.

Effect of Raw material for Distillers Grains Production on Protein Quality for Ruminants

The present experiment was focused on quality of dry distillers＇ grains with solubles （DDGS） produced from corn （DDGSc）, wheat （DDGSw）, triticale （DDGSt）, and wet distillers grains from corn （WDGc） for ruminants. The products were tested for dry matter （Dm）, crude protein （CP）, neutral detergent fibre （NDF）, acid detergent fibre （ADF） acid detergent insoluble nitrogen （NiaD）, amino acid （AA） profile, CP degradability and intestinal digestibility （ID） of rumen undegraded protein （RUP）. The average content of CP （g/kg Dm） ranged from 289.9 （DDGSc） to 356.9 （DDGSw）. The highest content of essential AA was in WDGc （440.1 g/160g N） followed with DDGSc. The most variable was the content of Lys in DDGSw （from 13.69 to 22.79 g/160 g N）. The NiaD was found the highest for DDGSw （from 16.8% to 36.2%）, effective CP degradability was only 50.2% and ID of RUP 82.2%, total essential AA 81.2%, Lys 77.69% and met 81.4%. Lys was generally the least digestible AA. The ruminally degradable CP fraction was in the range from 52.6% to 70.2% for DDGSc. ID of total and essential by-pass AA was very high 96.2% and 96.1%, Lysine 90.9% and methionine 96.7%. From these data it can be concluded that DDGS from grains are a good source of protein for ruminants.

The influence of different cooling rates on the morphology and oxygen permeabilityr of polypropylene containing ferrocene has been investigated. The spherulitic crystalline size and structure, which can affect the oxygen permeability are dependent upon the heating temperature, annealing time and cooling rate. The modulus of the composite was measured b}' dynamic mechanical analysis.
