A reciprocating extrusion （RE） process was used to improve the mechanical properties of Al-based composite manufactured using cast and powder metallurgy （Pm）. AA 6063 cast and AA 6061 powders were used as the matrix materials, and the matrix was reinforced by 5% SiC （volume fraction） particles. The hardness and grain size of extruded samples decrease with increasing the number of extrusion pass, while the toughness and ductility increase. As the tensile strength of the samples decreases, the elongation of the extruded samples increases. Consequently, reciprocating extrusion is an effective method for improving the mechanical properties of metal matrix composites （mmC）.

A New Neogregarine Entomopathogen from Crioceris asparagi （Linne, 1758） in Turkey

In present study, a neogregarine from Crioceris asparagi is reported for the first time in Turkey. C. asparagi （common asparagus beetle） is an important pest of Asparagus officinalis L. crops in Turkey and the world. Therefore, determining of the protist pathogens of C. asparagi is aimed. During the study, a total of 1,099 C. asparagi adults were examined thoroughly using a light microscope. Insects were collected from the provinces of manisa, Eskisehir and Bahkesir in Turkey, with 117 of them collected from manisa, 204 of them from Bahkesir and 778 of them from Eskisehir. A neogregarine pathogen was found in Bahkesir and manisa. Total infection rate was 18% for Bahkesir between the years 2014-2015 and 15.3% for manisa in 2011. Oocysts of the neogregarine pathogen were observed only in malpighian tubes of C. asparagi adults. Fresh mature oocysts of the neogregarine was measured as 9.34 ± 0.74 lam （n = 50） in length and 5.27 ± 0.36 μm （n = 50） in width. Identification of entomopathogens is prerequisite for their use in biological control.

This paper presents a linearized approach for the controller design of the shape of output probability density functions for general stochastic systems. A square root approximation to an output probability density function is realized by a set of B-spline functions. This generally produces a nonlinear state space model for the weights of the B-spline approximation. A linearized model is therefore obtained and embedded into a performance function that measures the tracking error of the output probability density function with respect to a given distribution. By using this performance function as a Lyapunov function for the closed loop system, a feedback control input has been obtained which guarantees closed loop stability and realizes perfect tracking. The algorithm described in this paper has been tested on a simulated example and desired results have been achieved.

AIm To comparatively evaluate Seldinger and Trocar techniques in the percutaneous treatment of hydatid disease. mETHODS Trocar and Seldinger techniques were used for 49 and 56 cysts, respectively, among 106 hydatid cysts in 88 patients. The number of males and females were 22 and 66, respectively with a mean age of 44.9 years(range, 15-87). Follow-up studies included cyst diameter, cyst contents, and morphological changes inthe cyst wall, local recurrence, and secondary invasion, using ultrasound, computerized tomography and chest X-rays. RESULTS The positive criteria of healing were a decrease in cyst diameter, progressive solidification of the cyst contents, and disappearance of the cyst. Local recurrence was defined as an increase in the cyst diameter and contents, and appearance of daughter cysts in the primary cavity, while secondary dissemination was defined as the appearance of new cysts outside the treated cyst. mean duration of follow-up was 19.23 mo(range, 18-26 mo). Follow-up results demonstrated that no significant differences were present between the Trocar and Seldinger techniques in the percentage of decrease in the cyst volume, rate of early complications, local recurrence and secondary dissemination(P = 0.384, 0.069, 0.215 and 0.533, respectively). CONCLUSION There are no differences between the Seldinger and Trocar techniques that gain entry to the cyst cavity in terms of the efficacy of the treatment and the rates of early and late complications.

Element Composition of the Atmospheric Depositions in Bangladesh

Compositions of dry and wet atmospheric depositions vary depending on geographic locations and industrialization. Fog waters were collected from different regions of Bangladesh along with rain, sub-surface irrigation water and dust particles from Gazipur and compositions were analyzed. The compositions of fog water varied greatly among locations. The ammonium nitrogen (NH+4-N) content was the highest (36 - 37 ppm) in Gazipur district and the lowest in Sylhet district (3.2 - 3.6 ppm). Phosphorus (5.2 - 5.5 mg/L), K (29.5 - 30 mg/L), S (11.0 - 11.5 mg/L), Zn (2.9 - 3.3 mg/L), Na (11.7 - 12.5 mg/L), Ca (22.0 - 23.3 mg/L) and Cd (0.14 - 0.17 mg/L) contents were also higher in Gazipur district. Dust particles, rain and sub-surface irrigation water of Gazipur district contained considerable amounts of macro and micro elements. We conclude that dry and wet atmospheric depositions varied depending on locations and industrial development. Such study needs to be correlated with ecological consequences and soil fertility management.

Stomatal movements are critical in regulating gas exchange for photosynthesis and water balance between plant tissues and the atmosphere. The plant hormone abscisic acid （ABA） plays key roles in regulating stomatal closure under various abiotic stresses. In this study, we revealed a novel role of baki in guard cell ABA signaling. We found that the brassinosteroid （BR） signaling mutant bakl lost more water than wild- type plants and showed ABA insensitivity in stomatal closure. ABA-induced OST1 expression and reactive oxygen species （ROS） production were also impaired in bakl. Unlike direct treatment with H202, overex-pression of OST1 did not completely rescue the insensitivity of bakl to ABA. We demonstrated that BAK1 forms a complex with OST1 near the plasma membrane and that the baki/OST1 complex is increased in response to ABA in planta. Brassinolide, the most active BR, exerted a negative effect on ABA-induced formation of the BAK1/OST1 complex and OST1 expression. moreover, we found that BAK1 and ABI1 oppositely regulate OST1 phosphorylation in vitro, and that ABI1 interacts with BAK1 and inhibits the interaction of BAK1 and OST1. Taken together, our results suggest that BAK1 regulates ABA-induced stomatal closure in guard cells.

4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenantroline from heterocyclic diamines and alizarine yellow R from chromogenic reagents have been used for spectrophotometric determination of manganese in the form of heteroligand manganese complex. The complex formation and extraction condition, physical-chemical and analytical characteristics of this complex have been established. 5.5 - 11.0 pH range is observed as complex formation pH range. Extraction and stability constants were accordingly found as Kext = 8.32 × 1014 and lgβK = 7.2 ± 0.1. molar absorptivity is ε = (2.27± 0.08) × 104 l·g-1·cm-1. In the range of 0.5 - 23.0 μkg manganese (II) Beer’s law is obeyed. The extraction-photometric methods of manganese determination have been worked out. The strangers ions influence on determination of manganese (II) has been studied. To determine amount of manganese in eggplant the proposed method was applied successfully.
