BACKGROUND Prim.ry thum. carpom.tacarpal(Cm.)osteoarthritis is one of the m.st com.on conditions encountered by hand *** the vast num.er of operations that have been proposed,none have dem.nstrated results significantly superior to trapeziectom. *** The purpose of our study was to determ.ne why surgeons opt for their technique in treating Cm. *** A cross-sectional survey of active m.m.ers of the Am.rican Society for Surgery of the Hand was conducted to evaluate the reasons behind their preferred technique in the treatm.nt of isolated thum. Cm. *** were contacted by em.il once and provided with a link to a de-identified survey consisting of 5 treatm.nt questions and 5 dem.graphic *** Of 950 responses were received.40.5%of surgeons preferred trapeziectom.+ligam.nt reconstruction tendon interposition(LRTI),followed by trapeziectom.+suspensionplasty(28.2%),suture button suspension(5.9%),trapeziectom. alone(4.6%),prosthetic arthroplasty(3.2%),arthrodesis(1.1%),and other(6.6%).Proponents of trapeziectom.+LRTI cited fam.liarity(73.2%),exposure during fellowship(48.8%)and less proxim.l m.gration(60%)to be the m.in reasons affecting their *** who preferred trapeziectom.+suspensionplasty m.st reported sim.licity(74.9%),fewer com.lications(45.3%),less proxim.l m.gration(43.8%),and avoidance of autogenous tissue harvest(42.7%).Advocates of suture button suspension cited avoidance of autogenous tissue harvest(80.4%),shorter im.obilization(76.8%),and quicker recovery(73.2%)with their *** of trapeziectom. alone cited sim.licity(97.7%),fewer com.lications(86.4%),and avoidance of autogenous tissue harvest(59.1%).In their com.ents,45%of surgeons choosing trapeziectom. alone cited evidence as an additional *** of prosthetic arthroplasty cited im.roved pinch strength(83.3%)and im.roved range of m.tion(63.3%),while those preferring arthrodesis cited better pinch strength(90%)and freque

The hydrotherm.l synthesis of In_(2)O_(3)and CeO_(2)–In_(2)O_(3)is investigated as well as the properties of sensor layers based on these *** the synthesis of In_(2)O_(3),interm.diate products In(OH)_(3)and InOOH are form.d,which are the precursors of stable cubic(c-In_(2)O_(3))and m.tastable rhom.ohedral(rh-In_(2)O_(3))phases,respectively.A transition from.c-In_(2)O_(3)to rh-In_(2)O_(3)is observed with the addition of CeO_(2).The introduction of cerium.into rh-In_(2)O_(3)results in a decrease in the sensor response to hydrogen,while it increases in com.osites based on c-In_(2)O_(3).The data on the sensor activity of the com.osites correlate with XPS results in which CeO_(2)causes a decrease in the concentrations of chem.sorbed oxygen and oxygen vacancies in rh-In_(2)O_(3).The reverse situation is observed in com.osites based on c-In_(2)O_(3).Com.ared to In_(2)O_(3)and CeO_(2)–In_(2)O_(3)obtained by other m.thods,the synthesized com.osites dem.nstrate m.xim.m.response to H_(2)at low tem.eratures by 70–100℃,and have short response tim.(0.2–0.5 s),short recovery tim.(6–7 s),and long-term.stability.A m.del is proposed for the dependence of sensitivity on the direction of electron transfer between In_(2)O_(3)and CeO_(2).

Com.ressive property and energy absorption characteristic of interconnected porous m.-Zn-Y alloys with adj.sting Y addition

In this study,interconnected porous m.-2Zn-xY alloys with different phase com.ositions were prepared by various Y additions(x=0.4,3,and 6 wt.%)to adj.st the com.ressive properties and energy absorption *** characterization m.thods were then applied to identify the m.crostructure of the porous m.-Zn-Y and describe the details of the second *** tests were perform.d at room.tem.erature(RT),200℃,and 300℃to study the im.act of the Y addition and testing tem.erature on the com.ressive properties of the porous *** experim.ntal results showed that a high Y content prom.tes a m.crostructure refinem.nt and increases the volum. fraction of the second *** the Y content increases,different m.-Zn-Y ternary phases appear:I-phase(m._(3)Zn_(6)Y),W-phase(m._(3)Zn_(3)Y_(2)),and LPSO phase(m._(12)ZnY).When the Y content ranges between 0.4%and 6%,the com.ressive strength increases from.6.30m.a to 9.23 m.a,and the energy absorption capacity increases from.7.33 m./m.(3)to 10.97 m./m.(3)at RT,which is m.inly attributed to the phase com.osition and volum. fraction of the second ***,the average energy absorption efficiency is independent of the Y *** addition,the com.ressive deform.tion behaviors of the porous m.-Zn-Y are altered by the testing *** com.ressive strength and energy absorption capacity of the porous m.-Zn-Y decrease due to the softening effect of the high tem.erature on the *** deform.tion behaviors at different tem.eratures are finally observed to reflect the failure m.chanism. of the struts.

A novel rheum.toid arthritis(RA)synovial fluid protein,Syntenin-1,and its receptor,Syndecan-1(SDC-1),are colocalized on RA synovial tissue endothelial cells and fibroblast-like synoviocytes(FLS).Syntenin-1 exacerbates the inflam.atory landscape of endothelial cells and RA FLS by upregulating transcription of IRF1/5/7/9,IL-1β,IL-6,and CCL2 through SDC-1 ligation and HIF1α,or m.OR ***,Syntenin-1 orchestrates RA FLS and endothelial cell invasion via SDC-1 and/or m.OR *** Syntenin-1 reprogram.ed endothelial cells,the dynam.c expression of m.tabolic interm.diates coincides with escalated glycolysis along with unchanged oxidative factors,Am.K,PGC-1α,citrate,and inactive oxidative ***,RA FLS rewired by Syntenin-1 displayed a m.dest glycolytic-ATP accom.anied by a robust m.tochondrial-ATP *** enriched m.tochondrial-ATP detected in Syntenin-1 reprogram.ed RA FLS was coupled with m.tochondrial fusion and fission recapitulated by escalated m.tofusin-2 and DRP1 *** found that VEGFR1/2 and Notch1 networks are responsible for the crosstalk between Syntenin-1 rewired endothelial cells and RA FLS,which are also represented in RA *** to RA explants,m.rphological and transcriptom. studies authenticated the im.ortance of VEGFR1/2,Notch1,RAPTOR,and HIF1αpathways in Syntenin-1 arthritic m.ce and their obstruction in SDC-1 deficient ***,dysregulation of SDC-1,m.OR,and HIF1αnegated Syntenin-1 inflam.atory phenotype in RA explants,while inhibition of HIF1αim.aired synovial angiogenic im.rint am.lified by *** conclusion,since the current therapies are ineffective on Syntenin-1 and SDC-1 expression in RA synovial tissue and blood,targeting this pathway and its interconnected m.tabolic interm.diates m.y provide a novel therapeutic strategy.

The Soft X-ray Im.ger(SXI)is part of the scientific payload of the Solar wind m.gnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(Sm.le)*** is a j.int science m.ssion between the European Space Agency(ESA)and the Chinese Academ. of Sciences(CAS)and is due for launch in *** is a com.act X-ray telescope with a wide field-of-view(FOV)capable of encom.assing large portions of Earth’s m.gnetosphere from.the vantage point of the Sm.le *** is sensitive to the soft X-rays produced by the Solar Wind Charge eXchange(SWCX)process produced when heavy ions of solar wind origin interact with neutral particles in Earth’s *** provides a m.chanism.for boundary detection within the m.gnetosphere,such as the position of Earth’s m.gnetopause,because the solar wind heavy ions have a very low density in regions of closed m.gnetic field *** sensitivity of the SXI is such that it can potentially track m.vem.nts of the m.gnetopause on tim.scales of a few m.nutes and the orbit of Sm.le will enable such m.vem.nts to be tracked for segm.nts lasting m.ny *** is led by the University of leicester in the United Kingdom.UK)with collaborating organisations on hardware,software and science support within the UK,Europe,China and the United States.

An externally generated resonant m.gnetic perturbation can induce com.lex non-ideal m.D responses in their resonant *** have studied the plasm. responses using Fitzpatrick's im.roved two-fluid m.del and program.*** calculated the error field penetration threshold for *** addition,we find that the island width increases slightly as the error field am.litude increases when the error field am.litude is below the critical penetration ***,the island width suddenly j.m.s to a large value because the shielding effect of the plasm. against the error field disappears after the *** scanning the natural m.de frequency,we find that the shielding effect of the plasm. decreases as the natural m.de frequency ***,we obtain the m.n=2/1 penetration threshold scaling on density and tem.erature.

The identification of j.ts originating from.quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an im.ortant role in various analyses perform.d at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard m.del m.asurem.nts and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the m.asurem.nt of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated lum.nosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high perform.nces in rej.cting j.ts from.gluon over j.ts from.quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirem.nts on the num.er of inner-detector tracks associated with the j.t,and the other com.ines several j.t substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A m.thod is established to determ.ne the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsam.les defined by the j.t *** in tagging efficiency between data and sim.lation are provided for j.ts with transverse m.m.ntum.between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for m.ltiple tagger working points.

QCD sum.rule study of j.(P)=1^(±)exotic states with two heavy quarks in the m.lecular picture

In this study,the spectroscopic param.ters of exotic m.lecular states com.osed of m.sons containing two heavy quarks(scalar-axial and pseudoscalar-axial m.son com.inations)are investigated within the QCD sum.*** findings reveal that m.lecular states containing charm.quarks do not form.bound states,whereas states with b-quarks can form.exotic m.lecular *** observation has significant im.lications for understanding the structure of these exotic states.
