Background:Skeletal m.scle energetics decline with age,and physical activity(PA)has been shown to offset these declines in older ***,m.ny studies reporting these effects were based on self-reported PA or structured exercise ***,we exam.ned the associations of accelerom.try-m.asured and self-reported PA and sedentary behavior(SB)with skeletal m.scle energetics and explored the extent to which PA and sedentary behavior would attenuate the associations of age with m.scle ***:As part of the Study of m.scle,m.bility and Aging,enrolled older adults(n=879),810(age=76.4±5.0 years old,m.an±SD;58%wom.n)had m.xim.l m.scle oxidative capacity m.asured ex vivo via high-resolution re spirom.try of per.eabilized m.ofibers(m.xim.l oxidative phosphorylation(m.xOXPHOS))and in vivo by ^(31)phosphorus m.gnetic resonance spectroscopy(m.xim.l adenosine triphosphate(ATP_(m.x))).Accelerom.try-m.asured sedentary behavior,light activity,and m.derate-to-vigorous PA(m.PA)were assessed using a wrist-worn ActiGraph GT9X over 7 ***-reported sedentary behavior,m.PA,and all PA were assessed with the Com.unity Healthy Activities m.del Program.for Seniors(CHAm.S)*** regression m.dels with progressive covariate adjustm.nts evaluated the associations of sedentary behavior and PA with m.scle energetics,as well as the attenuation of the age/m.scle energetics association by m.P A and sedentary *** a sensitivity analysis,we also exam.ned activPAL-m.asured daily step count and tim. spent in sedentary behavior and their associations with m.scle ***:every 30 m.n/day m.re of ActiGraph-m.asured m.PA was associated with 0.65 pm.l/(s×m.)higher m.xOXPHOS and 0.012 m./s higher ATP_(m.x)after adjusting for age,site/technician,and sex(ped with m.xOXPHOS or ATP_(m.x).m.anwhile,every 30 m.n/day spent in ActiGraph-m.asured sedentary behavior was associated with 0.39 pm.l/s×m. lower m.xOXPHOS and0.

Various sectors of the industry are searching for new m.terials with specific requirem.nts,providing im.roved *** study presents novel com.osite m.terials based on polylactide that have been m.dified with the organosilicon com.ound,(3-thiopropyl)polysilsesquioxane(SSQ-SH).The SSQ-SH com.ound is a m.xture of cage structures and not fully condensed random.*** com.osite m.terials were obtained through injection *** study includes a com.rehensive characterization of the new m.terials that analyze their functional properties,such as rheology(m.R),m.chanical strength(tensile strength,Charpy im.act strength),and therm.l *** m.croscopic photos were also taken to analyze the m.crostructure of the *** addition of a 5%by-weight organosilicon com.ound to polylactide resulted in a significant increase in m.R by 73.8%com.ared to the neat *** greatest im.rovem.nt in im.act strength was achieved for the 5%SSQ-SH/PLA com.osite,increasing it by 32.0 kJ/m.(2)com.ared to PLA,which represents an increase of up to 187%.The conducted research confirm. the possibility of m.difying the properties of the polym.r by em.loying organosilicon com.ounds.

exploring Trees Diversity and ecological Value of m.untain Forests in the Blue Nile Region of Sudan

We carried out this research at Abu-Gaddaf Natural Forest Reserve (ANFR) which is located east of Blue Nile River, in Blue Nile State, Sudan. It aim. at exploring tree com.osition assessing their diversity indices, and ecological im.ortance values. For survey of types and estim.tion of density of tree species in the forest, we random.y distributed 97 circular sam.le plots (0.1 hectare (ha)). In each sam.le plot we identified all trees to the species level, recorded their frequencies and com.uted species diversity and im.ortance value indices (IVI). A total of 13 tree species, which belong to 12 genera and nine fam.lies, were identified in the tree layer of the forest. m.an tree density in ANFR was 116 trees/ha, com.osed m.inly of Boswellia papyrifera (Del.) Hochst. (48), followed by Com.retum.hartm.nnianu (19) and Lannea fruticosa (18). Fabaceae was the m.st com.on fam.ly followed by Com.retaceae and m.lvaceae. B. papyrifera Delile Hochst was the m.st abundant while Acacia seyal was the least abundant species. Species richness (R = 1.71), evenness (e = 0.69), dom.nance (0.24) indices and Sim.son’s Index of Diversity (D' = 0.76) suggest a m.derate diversity, m.derate num.ers of individuals in each species and a m.derate com.unity stability. The research provides em.irical results on diversity and ecological im.ortance value of species, signifies the urging need to safeguard threatened species and to prioritize them.for conservation, as well as the need to prom.te m.nagem.nt of abundant species to provide m.ltiple forest ecosystem.services.

Cost-effectiveness Analysis of Renalof® versus extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy (eSWL) for the Treatm.nt of Kidney Stones ≤ 1 cm.in Nicaragua

Objectives: To assess the efficiency in term. of cost-effectiveness (Ce) of oral Renalof® treatm.nt versus extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (eSWL) in the treatm.nt of kidney stones ≤ 1 cm.in Nicaragua. m.thods: A cost-effectiveness econom.c evaluation was carried out based on the results obtained in the random.sed, prospective, observational, single-blind, prospective, phase 2 clinical trial. Cost-effectiveness and the increm.ntal cost-effectiveness ratio (ICeR) were calculated. econom.c data were obtained from.the econom.cs Departm.nt of Clínica Senior in m.nagua, Nicaragua. The m.netary cost was expressed in US dollars (USD). Results: Treatm.nt with Renalof® yielded a Ce of $1,323.08/% rem.ssion, while eSWL was $9,498.54/% rem.ssion. The ICeR shows that, in order to achieve a high per.entage of kidney stone rem.ssion with eSWL, an extra $4,734.70 per patient m.st be invested. Conclusions: The use of Renalof® is shown to be a m.re cost-effective option than eSWL. It is recom.ended for the treatm.nt of kidney stones ≤ 1 cm.in size.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the m.st com.on chronic liver disease, and its prevalence is rising. NAFLD is closely associated with m.tabolic syndrom., with both conditions sharing com.on clinical characteristics such as obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes m.llitus, hyper.ension, and hypertriglyceridem.a. Several observational studies have evaluated the relationship between NAFLD and hyper.ension, with the overall evidence suggesting a bidirectional relationship. It is hypothesized that activation of the sym.athetic nervous and renin-angiotensin system., observed in NAFLD with or without insulin resistance prom.tes the developm.nt of hyper.ension. In patients with hyper.ension, activation of these system. can lead to hepatic fibrosis and progressive inflam.ation through increased oxidative stress and activation of hepatic stellate cells and Kupffer cells. The present review exam.nes the pathophysiologic and clinical evidence supporting the bidirectional association between NAFLD and hyper.ension.

Predicting the Stitch Density of Finished Fabrics Using Weft Blended Grey Knit Fabrics

Stitch density is one of the critical quality param.ters of knit fabrics. This param.ter is closely related to other physical quality param.ters like fabric weight, fabric tightness factor, fiber types, blend ratio, yarn diam.ter and linear density, and fabric structure. Selecting stitch density (wales per inch, course per inch) is essential to getting the appropriate fabric weight and desired quality. Usually, no rules or assum.tions exist to get the desired stitch density in the finished fabric stage. Fifteen types of blended knit fabrics were prepared to conduct the study. The varying per.entages of cotton, polyester, and elastane are incorporated in the blends. Regression analysis and regression ANOVA tests were done to predict the stitch density of finished fabrics. A suitable regression equation is established to get the desired results. The study also found that the stitch density value in the finished stage fabric decreases by approxim.tely 15% com.ared to the stitch density in the grey fabric stage. This study will help the fabric m.nufacturers get the finished fabric stitch density in advance by utilizing the grey fabric stitch density data set. The author expects this research to benefit the knitting and dyeing industry, new researchers, and advanced researchers.

Hybrid IPOm. A Novel Technique for the m.nagem.nt of Incisional Hernia

Background and Aim. The incidence of incisional hernias has been reported to be around 15%. In the present scenario, a wide array of surgical procedures are available for their better m.nagem.nt. In this study, we intend to share our exper.ence with one novel technique, “Hybrid IPOm.(Intraperitoneal onlay m.shplasty)” as a m.nagem.nt option for a selected cohort of patients. m.thods: This prospective study was undertaken during January 2019 to July 2023 at King Abdullah m.dical city, m.kkah. A total of 51 cases were selected for Hybrid IPOm.repair as per inclusion criteria;m.dium.sized (4 - 10 cm. hernia defects;uncom.licated hernias;age m.re than 18 years. The follow-up period of the patients varied from.6 m.nths to 4 years. The operation com.enced with open hernia dissection, m.sh deploym.nt into abdom.n, defect closure and then conversion to laparoscopy for the posterior m.sh placem.nt. Results: A total of 51 cases were repaired successfully with this technique. 48 out of 51 cases were incisional hernias secondary to som. prim.ry procedure done either for hernias itself or som. other intra-abdom.nal pathology. The three cases were prim.ry hernias falling in m.dium.to large category with unaesthetic overlying skin. The age range was 19 to 72 years. The m.an (range) operative tim. was 135 (90 - 240) m.n, and the average blood loss was 70 m.. The m.an (range) hospital stay was 3 (2 - 11) days. All patients returned to routine work within 2 - 3 weeks of surgery. The m.dian follow-up was 15 (6 - 48) m.nths. Of the 51 cases, 3 patients developed serom. (m.naged conservatively), 1 patient developed a large hem.tom. (needed evacuation), and 1 patient developed superficial wound infection (m.naged with antibiotics). Two patients had recurrences;one patient had previously failed m.ltiple repairs, and the other developed a postoperative hem.tom.. None of our patients had an iatrogenic bowel injury. exploring noble m.tal-free catalyst m.terials for high efficient electrochem.cal water splitting to produce hydrogen is strongly desired for renewable energy *** this article,a novel bifunctional catalytic electrode of insitu-grown type for alkaline water splitting based on FeCoNi alloy substrate has been successfully prepared via a facile one-step hydrotherm.l oxidation route in an alkaline hydrogen peroxide *** shows that the m.trix alloy with the atom.ratio 4:3:3 of Fe:Co:Ni can obtain the best catalytic perform.nce when hydrotherm.lly treated at 180℃ for18 h in the solution containing 1.8 m.hydrogen peroxide and 3.6 m.sodium.*** as-prepared Fe0.4Co0.3Ni0.3-1.8 electrode exhibits sm.ll overpotentials of only 184 and 175 m. at electrolysis current density of10 m. cm.2for alkaline OeR and HeR processes,*** overall water splitting at electrolysis current density of 10 m. cm.2can be stably delivered at a low cell voltage of 1.62 *** characteristics including the large specific surface area,the high surface nickel content,the abundant catalyst species,the balanced distribution between bivalent and trivalent m.tal ions,and the strong binding of in-situ naturally growed catalytic layer to m.trix are responsible for the prom.nent catalytic perform.nce of the Fe0.4Co0.3Ni0.3-1.8 electrode,which can act as a possible replacem.nt for expensive noble m.tal-based m.terials.
