The increase in the frequency and intensity of drought events exp.cted in the com.ng decades in Western Europ. m.y disturb forest biogeochem.cal cycles and create nutrient deficiencies in *** p.ssible origin of nutrient deficiency is the disturbance of the p.rtitioning of the green leaf p.ol during the leaf senescence p.riod between resorp.ion,foliar leaching and senesced ***,the effects of drought events on this p.rtitioning and the consequences for the m.intenance of tree nutrition are p.orly *** exp.rim.nt in a beech forest in m.use(France)was conducted to assess the effect of drought events on nutrient canop. exchanges and on the p.rtitioning of the green leaf p.ol during the leaf senescence *** aim.was to identify p.tential nutritional consequences of droughts for *** nutrient dynam.cs,including resorp.ion,chem.stry of green and senesced leaves,foliar absorp.ion and leaching in m.ture beech stands from.2012 to 2019 allowed us to com.are the nutrient exchanges for three nondry and three dry years(i.e.,with an intense drought event during the growing season).During dry years,we observed a decrease by alm.st a third of the p.tassium.K)p.rtitioning to resorp.ion(*** efficiency),thus reducing the K reserve in trees for the next growing *** result suggests that with the increased drought frequency and intensity exp.cted for the com.ng decades,there will be a risk of p.tassium.deficiency in trees,as already observed in a rainfall exclusion exp.rim.nt on the sam. study *** foliar leaching and higher p.rititioning to the senesced leaves for K and p.osp.orus(p.were also *** addition,a slight increase in nitrogen(N)resorp.ion efficiency occurred during dry years which is m.re likely to im.rove tree *** calcium.ca)negative resorp.ion decreased,with no ap.arent consequence in our study *** results show that nutrient exchanges in the canop. and the p.rtitioning of the green leaf

Nd^(3+)-dop.d tellurite glasses are p.om.sing m.terials for therm.m.ters based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy transfer(ET)p.ocesses such as op.ical reabsorp.ion and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)em.ssion,which has been little exp.ored in the ***,the p.esent work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-dop.d tellurite glass(sam.les dop.d with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 m.l%,0.5 m.l%,2.0 m.l%,and 4.0 m.l%)in fluorescence therm.m.ters,in the tem.erature range from.299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dep.ndence of the FIR p.ram.ters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the em.ssion band p.ofiles caused by op.ical reabsorp.ion of the Nd^(3+)em.ssions and cross-relaxation p.ocesses.A decrease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for sam.les dop.d with higher am.unts of Nd^(3+).The m.xim.m.relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value am.ng the rep.rted Nd^(3+)ions.

Radiative decays D((s))*→D((s))γare revisited in light of new exp.rim.ntal data from.the BaBar and BESⅢ*** radiative coup.ings gD*Dγencoding nonp.rturbative QcD effects are calculated in the fram.work of the covariant confined quark m.del develop.d by *** com.are our results with other theoretical studies and exp.rim.ntal *** coup.ings(in GeV-1)|g(D*+D+γ)|=0.45(9)and|g(D*0D0γ)|=1.72(34)calculated in our m.del agree with the corresp.nding exp.rim.ntal data|g(D*+D+γ)|=0.47(7)and|g(D*0D0γ)|=1.77(16).The m.st interesting case is the decay Ds*→Dsγ,for which a recent p.ediction based on light-cone sum.rules at next-to-leading order|gDs*Dsγ|=0.60(19)deviates from.the first(and only to date)lattice QcD result|gDs*Dsγ|=0.11(2)at nearly3σ.Our calculation yields|gDs*Dsγ|=0.29(6),which falls som.how between the two m.ntioned results,although it is larger than those p.edicted in other studies using quark m.dels or QcD sum.rules.

Single atom.cu-N-c catalysts for the electro-reduction of cO_(2) to cO assessed by rotating ring-disc electrode

The electrochem.cal cO_(2) reduction reaction(cO_(2)RR) to controllable chem.cals is considered as a p.om.sing p.thway to store interm.ttent renewable energy. Herein, a set of catalysts based on cop.er-nitrogendop.d carbon xerogel(cu-N-c) are successfully develop.d varying the cop.er am.unt and the nature of the cop.er p.ecursor, for the efficient cO_(2)RR. The electrocatalytic p.rform.nce of cu-N-c m.terials is assessed by a rotating ring-disc electrode(RRDE), technique still rarely exp.ored for cO_(2)RR. For com.arison, p.oducts are also characterized by online gas chrom.tograp.y in a H-cell. The as-synthesized cu-Nc catalysts are found to be active and highly cO selective at low overp.tentials(from.-0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 m.KHcO_(3), while H_(2) from.the com.etitive water reduction ap.ears at larger overp.tentials(-0.9 V vs. RHE). The op.im.m.cop.er acetate-derived catalyst containing cu-N_(4) m.ieties exhibits a cO_(2)-to-cO turnover frequency of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. RHE with a H_(2)/cO ratio of 1.8. These results dem.nstrate that RRDE configuration can be used as a feasible ap.roach for identifying electrolysis p.oducts from.cO_(2)RR.

In this work,several ceria-zirconia based catalysts with very lo w（and equim.lar） m.tal contents were p.ep.red,characterised and tested for the cO oxidatio n reaction（under lean and stoichiom.tric conditions）,trying to em.late those conditions found in a diesel oxidation catalyst（DOc） system.from.a diesel engine and those encountered under gasoline exhaust（λ=1）.The m.tals chosen are cu,co,Ag and p.（as a reliable benchm.rk）.The results reveal enorm.us differences am.ng reducibility and catalytic activity desp.te quite sim.lar structural and textural p.op.rties of the catalysts,showing differences am.ng disp.rsion（Ag-catalyst seem. to p.esent a low level of disp.rsion）.This catalyst seem. to be characterised,as well,by a strong electronic interaction between ce and Ag centres which is suggested to yield an im.roved reducibility under H2-Tp. ***,the order in catalytic activity（cu>Ag>co≈p.>>sup.ort） seem. not to follow the order found in reducibility and the cu-catalyst seem. to be the m.st active indep.ndently on the reaction conditions,yielding nearly overlap.ed cO oxidation catalytic *** restingly,a stro ng correlation between the catalytic activity under the two conditions tested and the OSc values of the ce0.8Zr0.2O2-sup.orted m.tal catalysts is ***,OSc p.ram.ter m.asured at 150℃ can be used as a relevant descrip.or to evaluate the cO oxidation activity at low and m.dium.conversions for the investigated catalysts,m.ch better than the H2-Tp. m.asurem.nts.

A large fire of 233 ha in Huascarán National p.rk in p.ru p.ovided an op.ortunity to com.are p.ant and bird resp.nses in burned and nearby unburned zones of the p.na. Heights and live diam.ters of flagship.p.ya raim.ndii rosettes(assigned to four broad develop.0}ntal p.ases), p.ant com.unities(66 sp.cies in 24 fam.lies and nine growth form.) and bird com.unities(77 sp.cies in six trop.ic guilds) were m.nitored after the fire. Although no m.rtality was observed, p.ya raim.ndii p.ants were affected by the fire, losing ap.roxim.tely 60% of their p.otosynthetic area across all develop.0}ntal p.ases, but recovered quickly during the first two years after fire. The com.arison of p.ya rosette recovery after fire was com.licated by the changes in live rosette diam.ter for unburned p.ants, which showed p.asticity of p.otosynthetic area linked to seasonal and annual fluctuations in p.ecip.tation in this relatively dry environm.nt(decreased by 26% for m.ture adult p.ants over the study p.riod). Fire caused an im.ediate change in the density, biom.ss and com.osition of vegetation. Although the sp.cies p.esent rem.ined sim.lar, their abundances changed significantly im.ediately after the fire, with notable reductions in dom.nant tussock grasses. This p.ovided op.ortunities for other p.ants, resulting in higher p.stfire diversity of p.ant sp.cies, genera, fam.lies and growth form.. In turn, the changes in vegetation after fire affected the com.osition of birds according to their trop.ic guild. Granivores largely disap.eared,generalists were m.stly unaffected, and other guilds showed a m.re com.lex resp.nse. As the vegetation recovered, m.st disp.aced birds returned within ap.roxim.tely one year.

We have recently p.op.sed a new technique of p.asm. tailoring by laser-driven hydrodynam.c shockwaves generated on both sides of a gas jet[m.rquès et al.,*** 28,023103(2021)].In a continuation of this num.rical work,we study exp.rim.ntally the influence of the tailoring on p.oton acceleration driven by a high-intensity p.cosecond laser in three cases:without tailoring,by tailoring only the entrance side of the p.cosecond laser,and by tailoring both sides of the gas *** tailoring,the acceleration is transverse to the laser axis,with a low-energy exp.nential sp.ctrum.p.oduced by coulom. *** the front side of the gas jet is tailored,a forward acceleration ap.ears,which is significantly enhanced when both the front and back sides of the p.asm. are *** forward acceleration p.oduces higher-energy p.otons,with a p.aked sp.ctrum.and is in good agreem.nt with the m.chanism.of collisionless shock acceleration(cSA).The sp.tiotem.oral evolution of the p.asm. p.ofile is characterized by op.ical shadowgrap.y of a p.obe *** refraction and absorp.ion of this beam.are sim.lated by p.st-p.ocessing 3D hydrodynam.c sim.lations of the p.asm. *** with the exp.rim.ntal results allows estim.tion of the thickness and near-critical density of the p.asm. slab p.oduced by tailoring both sides of the gas *** p.ram.ters are in good agreem.nt with those required for cSA.
