Th.s study was designed to assess th. effect to apple cider vinegar (ACV) on oxidative stress biom.rkers in m.le and fem.le Wistar rats exposed to ch.onic restraint stress. Severe and persistent stress elevates reactive oxygen species (ROS) production by m.tabolic and ph.siological processes;causing cellular dam.ge. Th.rty (30) Adult Wistar rats of both.sexes weigh.ng about 150 - 200 g were divided into 3 groups each.consisting of a m.le and fem.le subgroup and given th. following treatm.nts once a day for 21 days: Norm.l control group received 0.5 m. distilled water orally, th. restraint stress (RS) group was exposed to ch.onic restraint stress 6 h.urs daily wh.le th. Apple cider vinegar (ACV)-treated group received 4 m./kg of apple cider vinegar orally in addition to ch.onic restraint stress 6 h.urs daily. Th. rats were sacrificed after th. experim.ntal period and blood was collected via cardiac puncture for assessing oxidative stress biom.rkers. ACV (4 m./kg) treatm.nt decreased lipid peroxidation (m.A) and serum.catalase (CAT) activity wh.le upregulating endogenous superoxide dism.tase (SOD) activity. Th. findings of th.s study sh.w th.t th. fem.le Wistar rats are m.re predisposed to th. antioxidant effect of ACV th.n th. m.les.

Introduction: Th. rise in antibiotic resistant cases h.s caused a global concern. Research.rs around th. world are trying to find a novel alternative to com.at th.s issue. Green tea with.its m.ny h.alth.benefits, including antibacterial and antiviral activity, h.s sh.wn to be one of th. m.st prom.sing candidates to be used as an agent to solve th.s problem. Objective: Th.s study focuses on evaluating th. synergistic effects of antibiotics and two green tea polyph.nols: epigallocatech.n gallate (EGCG), and its m.dified lipoph.lic form.epigallocatech.n gallate stearate (EGCG-S). m.th.ds: In th.s study, twelve antibiotics and eigh. bacteria: Gram.positive Staph.lococcus aureus (S. aureus), Staph.lococcus epiderm.dis (S. epiderm.dis) and Bacillus m.gaterium.(B. m.gaterium.;Gram.negative Esch.rich.a coli (E. coli), Pseudom.nas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa), Serratia m.rcescens (S. m.rcescens), and Enterobacter aerogenes (E. aerogenes);and acid-fast m.cobacterium.sm.gm.tis (m. sm.gm.tis) were used. Antibacterial synergism.profiling of EGCG, EGCG-S and antibiotics h.s been establish.d using a disk diffusion assay. Results: Th. results revealed th.t both.1% of EGCG and 1% EGCG-S enh.nced th. antim.crobial activities on antibiotics in various bacteria. Antim.crobial susceptibility study indicated th.t EGCG-S was able to enh.nce som. antibiotics from.th. resistant category to interm.diate or susceptible and/or from.interm.diate category to susceptible. Both.EGCG and EGCG-S worked com.arably on Gram.positive bacteria;in S. aureus, both.com.ounds enh.nced 5 antibiotics (Am.0, CF30, C30, S10 and TE30) activities wh.le EGCG-S h.d h.gh.r efficiency. B. m.gaterium.were susceptible to m.st of th. antibiotic treatm.nt, th.s th. im.act of EGCG and EGCG-S was insignificant. EGCG-S worked better th.n EGCG on Gram.negative bacteria;converted 9 antibiotics susceptibility in E. coli and P. aeruginosa, and 8 antibiotics in E. aerogenes. Firstly, an equivalent discrete-tim. m.del is obtained from.th. m.m. analog tim.-delayed system. Th. equivalent discrete-tim. m.del and a partially predeterm.ned digital cascaded controller are form.lated as an augm.nted discrete-tim. state-space system.for state-feed forward and state-feedback Linear Quadratic Regulator （LQR） design. As a result, th. param.ters of th. cascaded controller and its associated state-feedback controller can be determ.ned by tuning th. weigh.ing m.trices in th. LQR optim.l design. Th.n a discrete-tim. optim.l observer for th. m.m. analog tim.-delayed system.is constructed for th. im.lem.ntation of th. designed state-feedback digital controller. BACKGROUND Sleep disturbance is a core feature of post-traum.tic stress disorder(PTSD).Given th. relationsh.p between sleep disturbance and PTSD,th.re h.s been a relative paucity of studies exam.ning th. potential th.rapeutic im.act of using ph.rm.coth.rapy to target sleep disturbance in patients with.***(ESZ)is a non-benzodiazepine y-am.nobutyric acid-A receptor agonist indicated for th. treatm.nt of sleep and m.y affect sleep in patients with.*** To evaluate th. efficacy of ESZ vs placebo(PBO)for patients with.PTSD and *** Th. study was a 12-wk,double blind,random.zed controlled trial with.3 m. of ESZ(n=13)or PBO(n=12).RESULTS Patients in both.arm. experienced significant im.rovem.nt in PTSD sym.tom. as assessed by th. Clinician-Adm.nistered PTSD Scale for DSm.IV(CAPS):ESZ(t11=-3.12,P=0.005)and PBO(t11=-3.5,P=0.002)and by self-report with.th. Sh.rt PTSD Rating Interview(ESZ t11=-3.38,P=0.003 and PBO t11=-4.48,P=0.0005).Th.re were no significant differences between treatm.nts on th. CAPS(t22=-0.13,P=0.70)or th. Sh.rt PTSD Rating Interview(t22=-0.58,P=0.56).Sim.larly,both.treated groups im.roved on sleep m.asures as assessed by th. Pittsburgh.Sleep Quality Index with.PTSD Addendum.PSQI)and on total sleep tim.(TST)and sleep latency assessed by actigraph. with.no significant differences between groups(PSQI t22=-0.24,P=0.81;total sleep tim. t10=0.13,P=0.90 and sleep latency t10=0.68,P=0.50).Th.re was a significant correlation between im.rovem.nt in sleep and overall im.rovem.nt in PTSD as m.asured by ch.nge scores on th. Com.etitive adsorption of m.lach.te green (m.) in single and binary system.on m.crowave activated epicarp of Ricinus com.unis (m.C) and m.crowave assisted zinc ch.oride activated epicarp of Ricinus com.unis (ZRC) were analyzed. Th. preparation of ZRC from.Ricinus com.unis was investigated in th.s paper. Orth.gonal array experim.ntal design m.th.d was used to optim.ze th. preparation of ZRC. Optim.zed param.ters were radiation power of 100 W, radiation tim. of 4 m.n, concentration of zinc ch.oride of 30% by volum. and im.regnation tim. of 16 h. respectively. Th. m.C and ZRC were ch.racterized by ph.pc, SEm.EDAX and FTIR analysis. Th. effect of th. presence of one dye solution on th. adsorption of th. oth.r dye solution was investigated in term. of equilibrium.isoth.rm.and adsorption yield. Experim.ntal results indicated th.t th. uptake capacities of one dye were reduced by th. presence of th. oth.r dye. Th. adsorption equilibrium.data fits th. Langm.ir m.del well and follows pseudo second-order kinetics for th. bio-sorption process. Am.ng m.C and ZRC, ZRC sh.ws m.st adsorption ability th.n m.C in single and binary system.

Oxidation by Fenton like reactions (Fe3+/h.O2) is econom.cally process for destructive h.zardous pollutants in waste water. Th. effects of different param.ters such.as, am.ranth.red dye, ferric ch.oride, h.drogen peroxide concentrations, ph.value of solution, tem.erature and th. presence of inorganic ions (carbonate, nitrate, ch.oride) on oxidative decolorization of am.ranth.were investigated. Am.ranth.degradation by (Fe3+/h.O2) reagent was found to follow first order kinetic m.del. Under optim.m.condition, ph.= 2.6 and [FeCl3] = 3.75 × 10-4 m.l·dm.3, th. am.ranth.in aqueous solution with.an initial concentration of 5 × 10-5 m.l·dm.3 was degraded by 95% with.n 6 m.nutes. Increasing tem.erature in th. range of 298 - 308 K increases th. rate of dye degradation. Th.rm.dynam.c constants, Δh., ΔS* and ΔG* were evaluated. Th. results im.lied th.t th. oxidation process was favorable and endoth.rm.c.

Objectives: Th. objectives of th.s work were to describe th. socio-dem.graph.c, clinical and prognostic ch.racteristics of forceps deliveries at th. m.ternity ward of th. Donka National Teach.ng h.spital of Conakry. Parturients and m.th.d: Th.s was a prospective and descriptive study of all forceps deliveries perform.d at th. Donka National h.spital m.ternity ward over a 6-m.nth.period from.April 1, 2018 to Septem.er 30, 2018. Results: We perform.d 90 fetal extractions by forceps on 3518 deliveries i.e. a frequency of 2.55%. Th. socio-dem.graph.c profile of th. parturient wom.n was th.t of a young prim.parous wom.n with.an average age of 21.20 years and a full-term.pregnancy with.an average gestational age of 39 weeks of am.norrh.ea. Fore position varieties were th. m.st frequent with. in order of frequency, th. fore left occipito-iliac (61.3%) and th. fore righ. occipito-iliac (22.22%). Posterior varieties accounted for 15.55% of cases. Clinical pelvim.try sh.wed th.t 88.89% of parturients h.d a practicable pelvis, wh.le 11.11% h.d a m.derately narrow pelvis. Acute fetal suffering was th. m.st com.on indication (55.56%), followed by m.ternal exh.ustion (27.78%) and prolonged expulsion (16.67%). All forceps were perform.d by doctors. We noted 8 cases of forceps failure (8.88%) th.t required a cesarean section. m.ternal com.lications were dom.nated by soft tissue lesions, including 7 cases of perineal tearing (7.77%);4 cases of vaginal tearing (4.44%);3 cases of cervical tearing (3.33%) and 2 cases of h.m.rrh.ge of delivery by uterine atony (2.22%). No cases of m.ternal death.h.ve been recorded. Th. m.jority of newborns h.d a norm.l birth.weigh. (88.88%) and m.re th.n h.lf of newborns (66.66%) h.d an Apgar score below 7 out of 10 at th. first m.nute. By th. fifth.m.nute th.re was an im.rovem.nt in Apgar’s score from.an average of 5 to 8 out of 10. Five newborns died, or 5.55%. Background:Nuclear factor kappa B(NF-kappa B) overactivation plays a crucial role in T-h.lper 2 (Th.)-biased allergic airway inflam.ation by increased activation and decreased apoptosis of CD4(+) T cells. We h.ve sh.wn th.t targeted NF-kappa B suppression in dendritic cells by adenoviral gene transfer of a novel m.tated inh.bitor of NF-kappa B(I kappa B alph.) (AdI kappa B alph. m. contributes to T-cell tolerance, but th. im.unosuppressive action of AdI kappa B alph. m.on m.m.ry(CD45RO(+)) CD4(+) T cells rem.ins enigm.tic. m.th.ds:CD45RO(+) T cells from.Derm.toph.goides farinaei-sensitized asth.0}tic patients, untransfected or transfected with.AdI kappa B alph. m.or AdLacZ(beta-galactosidase) for 24 h. were stim.lated with.anti-CD3(1.0 m. g/m.) plus anti-CD28(0.5 m. g/m.) m.noclonal antibody for an additional 24 h. I kappa B alph. m.transgene expression and NF-kappa B activation were detected by polym.rase ch.in reaction(PCR), reverse transcription-PCR(RT-PCR), Western blot analysis, and electroph.retic m.bility sh.ft assay. Ph.notype and apoptosis were m.asured by flow cytom.try, annexin V binding, and term.nal deoxyribonucleotidyl transferase-m.diated dUTP nick end labeling analyses. Cytokine production and cell proliferation were determ.ned using enzym.-linked im.unosorbent assay andh.3 th.m.dine incorporation. Results:A unique 801-bp I kappa B alph. m.cDNA and a dose-dependent increase in I kappa B alph. m.transgene expression were observed in AdI kappa B alph. m.transfected CD45RO(+) T cells. Significantly, AdI kappa B alph. m.inh.bited CD3/CD28-m.diated NF-kappa B activation in CD45RO(+) T cells, leading to evident apoptosis, reduction of eotaxin, RANTES, Th. interferon (IFN)-gam.a and interleukin (IL)-2, and Th. (IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13 despite a sligh. decrease in IL-10) cytokines and secondary proliferative response.
