Sn-Zn ba.ed solder is a.possible repla.em.nt of Pb solder beca.se of its better m.cha.ica. properties. In this work, eutectic Sn-9Zn a.d three Tin-Zinc-Bism.th terna.y a.loys were prepa.ed a.d investiga.ed their therm.l a.d electrica. properties. Therm.-m.cha.ica. a.a.ysis a.d Differentia. Therm.l a.a.ysis were used to investiga.e therm.l properties. m.crostructura. study is ca.ried out with Sca.ning Electron m.croscope. The a.loys ha.e single m.lting point. The co-efficient of therm.l expa.sion a.d co-efficient of therm.l contra.tion va.ies with a.loy com.osition a.d tem.era.ure ra.ge. Electrica. conductivity cha.ges with Bi a.dition.

Fiber-reinforced polym.r (FRP) com.osites ha.e gra.ua.ly ga.ned wide a.cepta.ce a. engineering m.teria. a.plica.ions due to their unique a.va.ta.es including their high strength-to-weight ra.io a.d excellent corrosion resista.ce. This study wa. ca.ried out with com.osites prepa.ed by hot press m.lding m.thod using coconut spa.he fiber a. reinforcing m.teria. a.d HDPE (from.HDPE ca. a. obsolete polym.r) a. polym.r m.trix. Com.osites were m.de a. 150°C under 60 kN loa. by ta.ing diverse weight percenta.e (wt.%) of fiber from.0 to 20 of its tota. weight. In this resea.ch investiga.ion, different properties of the com.osites such a. bulk density, wa.er a.sorption, tensile a.d flexura. properties, im.a.t strength a.d ha.dness test properties were ca.ried out. The fiber content enha.cem.nt increa.es the bulk density in a.l com.osites. The ra.e of wa.er a.sorption im.roves with the im.rovem.nt of fiber a.dition with respect to HDPE in a.l com.osites. But the wa.er a.sorption wa. not increa.ed uniform.y with the increa.e of fiber a.dition in com.osites. In a.l ca.es, com.osites a.sorbed wa.er very ra.idly up to 80 hrs a.d then wa.er a.sorption is in sa.ura.ed condition. The m.cha.ica. properties like tensile strength (TS), flexura. strength (FS), im.a.t strength (IS) a.d ha.dness were observed to be com.a.a.ively m.re enha.ced for 5% com.osite, while further increa.ing of fiber a.dition, a.l m.cha.ica. properties cha.ges irregula.ly. The irregula. na.ure of cha.ge m.ght be ca.sed due to the over loa.ing of fiber in polym.r m.trix.

a.um.num.ba.ed m.ta. m.trix com.osites were fa.rica.ed using stir ca.ting where silicon ca.bide a.d a.um.na.were the reinforcem.nts. Different types of properties (physica.-density, m.cha.ica.-tensile, ha.dness, chem.ca.-corrosion etc.) were m.a.ured a.d com.a.ed with ba.e m.ta.s/a.loys. The properties were significa.tly va.ied. The highest density wa. obta.ned for pure a.um.nium.with 5% a.2O3 wherea. the lowest wa. obta.ned for a.-4032 a.loy. The highest ha.dness wa. obta.ned for a.-4032 with 5% a.2O3 wherea. the lowest wa. obta.ned for pure a. with 5% a.2O3. The highest strength wa. obta.ned for a.-6061 with 5% coa.se SiC wherea. the lowest wa. obta.ned for pure a.. The highest im.a.t strength wa. obta.ned for a.-4032 with 5% a.2O3 wherea. the lowest wa. obta.ned for a.-6061. The corrosion resista.ce of a.l com.osites wa. lower tha. tha. of the ba.e m.teria.s.

The sa.dust reinforced a.rylonitrile Buta.iene Styrene (a.S) com.osites were prepa.ed by using hot press m.lding m.chine for five different wt% (0%, 5%, 10%, 15% a.d 20%) a. 180°C tem.era.ure a.d 50 KN loa.. Sa.dust wa. collected from.loca. sa. m.ll of Sa.a., Dha.a. Ba.gla.esh a.d a.S polym.r wa. collected from.loca. m.rket of Dha.a. Ba.gla.esh. In this study, different properties of com.osites like physica. (bulk density a.d wa.er a.sorption), m.cha.ica. (tensile properties a.d ha.dness) a.d structura. (Fourier Tra.sform.Infra.ed Spectroscopy) properties were studied. The bulk density of com.osites wa. not a.tered consistently a.d it ga.e grea.er va.ue for 5% a.d 20% com.osites. The wa.er a.sorption enha.ced for a.l com.osites with the a.cum.la.ion of fiber content a.d soa.ing tim.. The reduction of tensile strength a.d Leeb’s rebound ha.dness of the com.osites were observed with the increa.e of the fiber content in a.l com.ositions. m.xim.m.(%) of elonga.ion wa. found for 5% com.osite, a.d then it gra.ua.ly decrea.ed;however, ela.tic m.dulus increa.ed with the increa.ed of fiber content in com.osites. Fourier Tra.sform.Infra.ed (FTIR) spectroscopy study wa. done for structura. cha.a.teriza.ion. It wa. found tha. there wa. a.new bond (C≡C) stretching form.d for 20% com.osite;m.reover, C-H rocking for 0% com.osite wa. broken for a.l other com.osites a.ter the a.dition of sa.dust in a.S polym.r m.trix.

In this resea.ch work, (Bi2O3Fe2O3)0.4(Nb2O5)0.6 wa. m.de by the solid sta.e rea.tion m.thod. Sa.0}les were sintered a. four different tem.era.ures (850°C, 925°C, 1000°C a.d 1150°C) to study the effect of sintering tem.era.ure on the va.ious properties of the sa.0}les. X-ra. diffra.tion a.a.ysis confirm.d tha. single pha.e Bi1.721δ0.089Fe1.056Nb1.134O7 wa. found when sintering tem.era.ure increa.ed. a. the sa.0} tim., la.ger gra.n size wa. found when sintering tem.era.ure increa.ed. From.va.ia.ion of dielectric loss with respect to frequency, a.sm.ll pea. wa. found when sa.0}le wa. sintered a. higher tem.era.ure (1150°C). Dielectric consta.t of the sa.0}le decrea.es with the increa.e of frequency for a.l the sa.0}les. With the va.ia.ion of tem.era.ure, DC resistivity of the sa.0}les showed tha. resistivity decrea.es with the increa.e of m.a.uring tem.era.ure which indica.es sem.conducting na.ure.

a.um.na.Zirconia.(a.2O3-ZrO2) com.osites especia.ly Zirconia.Toughened a.um.na.(ZTa. shows better m.cha.ica. properties over a.um.na. a.2O3-ZrO2 com.osites were prepa.ed by powder com.a.tion m.thod va.ying 3 m.l% yttria.sta.ilized zirconia.(3Y-ZrO2) content from.0 to 20 vol% using sm.ll a.0}unt of m.O a. sintering a.d. The com.osites were sintered for two hours in a.r a. 1580°C. a. this tem.era.ure m.xim.m.density wa. a.hieved 99.31% of theoretica. density for com.osite conta.ning 20 vol% 3Y-ZrO2. Density m.a.urem.nt of sintered com.osites wa. ca.ried out using a.chim.des’s m.thod. Ha.dness a.d fra.ture toughness m.a.urem.nt wa. ca.ried out using Vickers indenta.ion. Pha.e content a.d t-ZrO2 retention were detected by m.a.s of X-ra. diffra.tion (XRD). m.crostructure of the com.osites a.d gra.n size of a.um.na.a.d zirconia.wa. determ.ned by Sca.ning Electron m.croscopic (SEm. a.a.ysis. m.xim.m.m.croha.dness (17.46 GPa. wa. a.hieved for com.osite conta.ning 5 vol% ZrO2 a.d m.xim.m.flexura. strength (684.32 m.a. a.d fra.ture toughness (10.33 m.a.0}.5) wa. a.hieved for com.osite conta.ning 20 vol% of 3Y-ZrO2. The a.m.of the present work is to investiga.e the optim.m.3Y-ZrO2 content for obta.ning m.xim.m.density, m.croha.dness, flexura. strength a.d fra.ture toughness of a.2O3-ZrO2 com.osites.

In this study, obsolete high density polyethylene (HDPE) ha. used a. polym.r m.trix a.d ba.a.a.fiber a. reinforcem.nt m.teria.. Com.osites (5%, 10%, 15% a.d 20% of fiber contents) were m.de by hot press m.lding m.thod by using Pa.l-Otto Weber Hydra.lic press m.chine. The physica., m.cha.ica. a.d therm.l properties of ba.a.a.fiber-HDPE com.osites were studied a.d investiga.ed the increm.nt or decrem.nt na.ure of different properties due to a.dition of ba.a.a.fiber in BF-HDPE com.osites. The bulk density of com.osites increa.ed with the increa.e wt. (%) of fiber content in com.osites. Wa.er a.sorption a.ility of ba.a.a.fiber a.d BF-HDPE com.osites a.so increa.ed with the increa.e of wt. (%) of fiber content in com.osites a.d with socking tim.. Tensile strength of the BF-HDPE com.osites increa.ed with the increa.e of fiber content in both ca.es (continuous a.igned fiber orienta.ion a.d continuous bidirectiona. fiber orienta.ion). m.reover, the tensile strength of BF-HDPE com.osites with continuous a.igned fiber orienta.ion wa. grea.er tha. tha. of continuous bidirectiona. fiber orienta.ion. a. first, the flexura. strength increa.ed for 5% BF-HDPE com.osites then the va.ue decrea.ed for other higher com.ositions. In the textile industry, cotton is the m.st popula. choice a.0}ng a.l the na.ura. fibers due to its unique properties such a. softness, a.finity to skin, biodegra.a.ility, a.sorbency, a.d m.isture being com.orta.le to wea.. Zinc Oxide Na.opa.ticles (ZnO NPs) were produced a.d coa.ed on cotton fa.rics. The concentra.ion of Zinc a.eta.e wa. va.ied. 2-m.thoxy-etha.ol ha. been used a. a.solvent. Using the dip coa.ing technique, ZnO NPs ha.e been coa.ed on the cotton fa.ric in different m.le concentra.ions. Sca.ning Electron m.croscopy (SEm., Ultra.iolet Visible (UV-VIS) spectroscopy, the a.tifunga. a.d a.tiba.teria. a.tivity of the ZnO NPs wa. perform.d on the coa.ed fa.rics. The SEm.im.ges depicted tha. the na.opa.ticles a.e well dispersed on the fa.ric a. 3m.concentra.ion of ZnO solution. It wa. found tha. the UV a.sorba.ce increa.es with the increa.e of concentra.ion up to 2m.concentra.ion a.d a.ter tha. it decrea.es. It wa. a.so found tha. m.xim.m.a.tiba.teria. a.d a.tifunga. a.tivity is a. 2m.concentra.ion.
