Introduction:Numerous dermatoses associated with monoclonal gammopathy have been reported in the *** autoimmune bullous diseases(SABD)are one of them which were not *** presentation:A 68-year-old male patient was admitted to our clinic with erosions on the oral mucosa,tense blisters,erosions,and ulcers on the trunk and *** vesicle formation was detected in the skin *** examination revealed positivity for the Nikolsky *** disease was unresponsive to conventional treatments and dysphagia and hoarseness *** patient was screened for malignancy due to his unresponsiveness to the treatments and his severe oral mucosal ***-G mGUS was detected in the ***:The Nikolsky sign is an indicator of acantholysis and is known as a specific finding for ***,when we look at gammopathy-associated autoimmune bullous dermatoses,skin fragility has been reported in ***,the meaning of fragility is not *** diagnosis of all these patients was Ig-m *** patient was presented because of non-Igm mGUS,direct Nikolsky positivity,and severe mucosal ***:Nikolsky positivity may be a clue for gammopathy-related subepidermal autoimmune bullous diseases.

Incidence and clinical presentation of portal vein thrombosis in cirrhotic patients

BACKGROUND: Portal vein thrombosis (PVT) is due to many risk factors, but its pathogenesis is still not clearly understood. To identify the risk factors for PVT, we analyzed the clinical characteristics and complications associated with PVT in cir-rhotic patients. mETHODS: We studied patients with liver cirrhosis who were admitted to our unit from April 2009 to December 2014. The patients were divided into the PVT and non-PVT groups, and were compared by variables including gender, age, the etiology of cirrhosis, stage of cirrhosis, complications, imaging, and treatment. RESULTS: PVT was found in 45 (9.8%) of 461 cirrhotic pa-tients admitted to our hospital. most patients (45.9%) had hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related cirrhosis, with a similar dis-tribution of etiologies between the groups. However, there was no positive relationship between PVT and etiologies of cirrhosis. most patients (71.5%) were in the stage of hepatic decompensation. No statistically signiifcant differences were found in complications including esophageal varices, ascites, and hepatic encephalopathy between the groups. However, there was a signiifcant positive correlation between hepatocel-lular carcinoma (HCC) and PVT (Pmbosis occurred in the portal vein and/or portal branches, 37.8% were diagnosed on ultrasound. CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of PVT was 9.8%, mainly in patients with HBV-related cirrhosis. The development of PVT was associated with the severity of liver disease and HCC.

Effects of particle size,bimodality and heat treatment on mechanical properties of pumice reinforced aluminum syntactic foams produced by cold chamber die casting

In recent years,metal matrix syntactic foams(mmSFs)have become highly attractive owing to their unique physical,microstructural and mechanical *** to their promising potential for different industrial areas like automotive,aviation,and defense,these advanced engineering materials can also be evaluated as serious alternatives to particle reinforced metallic composites and conventional metallic *** from previously reported laboratory scaled techniques in the literature,this experimental effort focuses on the feasibility of mmSF manufacturing via a fully automated and industrial-based cold chamber die casting ***,1-2 mm,2-4 mm,and bimodal(50vol.%)natural-based pumice filled aluminum syntactic foams were manufactured utilizing a purpose-made casting ***,macroscopic,and microscopic examinations show that all of the fabricated samples display perfect matrix/filler *** density levels of fabricated syntactic foams range between 1.50 and 1.80 g·cm^(-3) depending upon the pumice particles size *** assess mechanical responses,quasi-static compression tests were ***,half of the foam samples were subjected to heat treatment to explore possible influences of aging on the compressive features and damage *** indicate that although the heat treatment enhances the compressive strength,plateau stress,and energy absorption properties of the fabricated foams,it changes damage mode of the samples by causing brittle dominant deformation.
