Numerical and Experimental Investigation on the Performance of Battery Thermal Management System Based on Micro Heat Pipe Array

Battery thermal management is very crucial for the safe and long-term operation of electric vehicles or hybrid electric *** this study,numerical simulation method is adopted to simulate the temperature field of Li-ion battery cell and *** is proved that the maximum temperature and maximum temperature difference of battery cell and module increase with the increase of charge/discharge rate(C-rate)of the *** battery module,it can reach a maximum temperature of 61.1℃at a C-rate of 2 under natural convection condition with the ambient temperature of 20.0℃.A battery thermal management system based on micro heat pipe array(BTMS-MHPA)is deeply *** are conducted to compare the cooling effect on the battery module with different cooling methods,which include natural cooling,only MHPA,MHPA with *** maximum temperature of battery module which is cooled by MHPA with a fan is 43.4℃at a C-rate of 2,which is lower than that in the condition of natural ***,the maximum temperature difference was also greatly reduced by the application of MHPA *** experimental results confirm that the feasibility and superiority of the BTMS-MHPA for guaranteeing the working temperature range and temperature uniformity of the battery.

Hydrogen evolution by electrocatalysis clean energy. However, it is challenging is an attractive method of supplying to find cheap and efficient alternatives to rare and expensive platinum based catalysts. Pt provides the best hydrogen evolution performance, because it optimally balances the free energies of adsorption and desorption. Appropriate control of these quantities is essential for producing an efficient electrocatalyst. We demonstrate, based on first principles calculations, a stepwise designed Rh-Au-Si ternary catalyst, in which adsorption （the Volmer reaction） and desorption （the Heyrovsky reaction） take place on Rh and Si surfaces, respectively. The intermediate Au surface plays a vital role by promoting hydrogen diffusion from the Rh to the Si surface. Theoretical predictions have been explored extensively and verified by experimental observations. The optimized catalyst （Rh-Au-SiNW-2） has a com- position of 2.2：28.5：69.3 （Rh：Au：Si mass ratio） and exhibits a Tafel slope of 24.0 ***-L Its electrocatalytic activity surpasses that of a commercial 40 wt.% Pt/C catalyst at overpotentials above 0.19 V by exhibiting a current density of greater than 108 mA-cm-2. At 0.3 V overpotential, the turnover frequency of Rh-Au-SiNW-2 is 10.8 times greater than that of 40 wt.% Pt/C. These properties may open new directions in the stepwise design of highly efficient catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction （HER）.

A metal-dissolved oxygen seawater battery(SWB)uses metal and dissolved oxygen as the reactants,and it is ideal for use as a long-time low-power distributed power supply in deep sea,due to its advantages of open structure in service without ***,several simulating deep-sea environmental factors,such as flow rate,dissolved oxygen concentration,and temperature of seawater may af fect the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)rate and the stability of electrochemically modified polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fiber brush(MPAN-CFB)cathode,which was studied by steady-state polarization and galvanostatic discharge *** addition,the scales formed on MPAN-CFB surface were characterized by SEM and *** show that the ORR rate increased quickly with the increase of the seawater flow rate up to 3 cm/s,and then gradually ***,the ORR rate was largely af fected by dissolved oxygen concentration,and the concentration of>3 mg/L was *** with surface layer temperature of 15℃,the low temperature of deep sea(4℃)has a negligible ef fect on ORR *** the working current is too high,it will lead to the formation of CaCO_3 scales(aragonite)of at the cathodic surface,resulting in the decrease of ORR rate,and consequently the damage to the long-time stability of MPAN-CFB.

Background Individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)are more vulnerable to social disconnection compared with the general population;however,there are few relevant studies investigating this *** To investigate whether social isolation or loneliness may be associated with subsequent risk of developing major adverse cardiovascular events,whether these associations vary according to fatal and non-fatal outcomes and how behavioural,psychological and physiological factors mediate these *** This longitudinal analysis included data from 19360 individuals with T2DM at baseline(2006-2010)from the UK *** isolation and loneliness were measured using self-report *** study outcomes included the first events of myocardial infarction(MI)or stroke(n=2273)and all-cause(n=2820)or cardiovascular disease-related mortality through linked hospital data ordeath *** Over a median follow-up of 12.4 years(interquartile range(IQR):11.6-13.3 years),participants who were more socially isolated(most social isolation vs least social isolation)experienced increased risks for all-cause(hazard ratio(HR):1.33,95%confidence interval(Cl):1.19 to 1.47)and cardiovascular disease(HR:1.36,95%Cl:1.17 to 1.59)mortality but not first Ml or ***(yes vs no)was associated with a greater risk for a composite of incident MI or stroke(HR:1.37,95%Cl:1.19 to 1.57)but not *** isolation was associated with fatal Ml and stroke,whereas loneliness was associated with non-fatal Ml and *** significant associations of social isolation and loneliness with outcomes were mainly mediated by behavioural factors(mediating proportion:17.8%-28.2%and 17.6%-17.8%,respectively).Conclusions Among individuals with T2DM,social isolation and loneliness are associated with a greater risk of developing major adverse cardiovascular events,with differences in both risks stratified according to fatal and non-fatal events and underlying mediat
