Bioactive thermal spray coatings produced via high-velocity oxygen fuel spray(HVoF)from hydroxyapatite(HAp)and bioactive glasses(BG)have the potential to be employed on temporary implants due to the ability of both HAp and BG to dissolve and promote osseointegration,considering that both phases have different reaction and dissolution rates under in-vitro *** the present work,75%***-25%wt.s53P4 bioactive glass powders were HVoF-sprayed to obtain HAp/s53P4 BG composite coatings on a bioresorbable AZ31 *** study is focused on exploring the effect of the stand-off distance and fuel/oxygen ratio variation as HVoF parameters to obtain stable structural coatings and to establish their effect on the phases and microstructure produced in those *** characterization techniques,such as scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,were employed to characterize relevant structural and microstructural properties of the composite *** results showed that thermal gradients during coating deposition must be managed to avoid delamination due to the high temperature achieved(max 550℃)and the differences in coefficients of thermal *** was also found that both spraying distance and oxygen/fuel ratio allowed to keep the hydroxyapatite as the main phase in the *** addition,in-vitro electrochemical studies were performed on the obtained HAp/s53P4 BG composite coatings and compared against the uncoated AZ31 *** results showed a significant decrease in hydrogen evolution(at least 98%)when the bioactive coating was applied on the Mg alloy during evaluation in simulated body fluid(sBF).

Phytobezoars is a rare disease and less common in Western *** stomach is the primary site for these formations,and endoscopic treatment involving fragmentation and extraction has traditionally been the most effective ***,medical treatments using enzymatic and chemical agents,such as cellulase and Coca-Cola,aimed at dissolving the bezoars,have also been utilized,showing varying degrees of resolution ***,the oral dissolution treatment with Coca-Cola has emerged as a promising,simpler,and more costeffective *** study by Liu et al represents an important step in clinical research on this topic,despite some limitations that need addressing for a more comprehensive understanding of its *** considerations for future research include sample size calculation,endoscopic procedure details,outpatient *** treatment,and detailed cost *** study's exclusions,such as patients with upper gastric surgery,phytobezoars older than 14 d,and cases of gastroparesis,limit its applicability to broader populations,especially in Western *** the promising outcomes of the Coca-Cola treatment,it's advocated as a first-line therapy for ***,further research is essential to overcome these *** special situations such as perforation or small bowel obstruction will require surgical treatment.

Background: Intussusception is defined as a telescoping of a proximal gastrointestinal segment with its mesentery to a distal one, only 5% occur in adults and in colon the probability that it is caused by a malignant disease is up to 65%. only 1% occurs in a retrograde manner, the rest occur in an anterograde manner. Aim: Describe the clinical presentation of an intussusception in the adult patient as well as its most frequent causes and possible complications that influence decision making for a definitive treatment. Case Presentation: A 66-year-old woman diagnosed with colon adenocarcinoma who underwent elective transverse colectomy and colonic anastomosis with an incidental finding of a transverse colon tumor in a retrograde intussusception was studied. Conclusion: In any adult patient with an intussusception especially in colon a neoplasia should be suspected and the affected segment should be resected without being reduced due to the risk of perforation and tumor dissemination.

In this study,we identiﬁed the moisture sources for the precipitation associated with tropical cyclones(TCs)during the rapid intensiﬁcation(RI)process from 1980 to 2018 by applying a Lagrangian moisture source diagnostic *** detected sixteen regions on a global scale for RI events distributed as follows:four in the North Atlantic(NATL),two in the Central and East Paciﬁc ocean(NEPAC),the North Indian ocean(NIo)and south Indian ocean(sIo),and three in the south Paciﬁc ocean(sPo)and the Western North Paciﬁc ocean(WNP).The moisture uptake(MU)mostly was from the regions where TCs underwent *** Western NATL,tropical NATL,Caribbean sea,the Gulf of Mexico and the Central America and Mexico landmass supported~85.4%of the precipitating moisture in the NATL,while the latter source and the eastern North Paciﬁc ocean provided the higher amount of moisture in NEPAC(~84.3%).The Arabian sea,the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Peninsula were the major moisture sources in NIo,contributing approximately 81.3%.The eastern and western parts of the Indian ocean supplied most of the atmospheric humidity in sIo(~83.8%).The combined contributions(~87.9%)from the western and central sPo and the Coral sea were notably higher in ***,TCs in the WNP basin mostly received moisture from the western North Paciﬁc ocean,the Philippine sea and the China sea,accounting for 80.1%.The remaining moisture support in each basin came from the summed contributions of the remote ***,RI TCs gained more moisture up to 2500 km from the cyclone centre than those slow intensiﬁcation(sI)and the total MU was approximately three times higher during RI than ***,the patterns of the MU differences respond to the typical pathways of moisture transport in each basin.

Background Tree regeneration is a key component of resilience because it promotes post-disturbance recovery of forests. Northwestern Patagonia from Argentina is occupied by Nothofagus alpina（Na）, N. obliqua（No）, and N. dombeyi（Nd） forests that grow along an intense precipitation gradient, managed throughout shelterwood silvicultural system by technicians of the Lanin Natural Reserve. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of seeding cuttings over the dynamics of Nothofagus mixed forests across landscape（precipitation gradient） based mainly on the composition and abundance of tree regeneration, permanent sampling plots and generalized linear mixed models. In particular, we analysed:（i） the structure of sexual and asexual regeneration during 20 years after harvest（the dynamics of managed forests）, and（ii） the structure of sexual regeneration in primary and managed forests after > 20 years of harvest（the effect of silviculture）.Results Nd was the most abundant species in the regeneration of managed forests during all periods in both sites despite its lower contribution to the adult cohort. During the 10–20 years period after harvest, the humid site exhibited higher regeneration density than the mesic site(120,000 and 6000 ind ha-1, respectively), and it decreased afterwards. The number of established regeneration（> 2 m height） was lower for Na in the mesic site and for No in the humid site(0 and 57 ind ha-1, respectively). However, in comparison to No, Na showed a higher number of sprouted stumps and sprouts per stump, and a higher sprout height in the mesic site. No exhibited higher sprout mortality in the humid site.
