Hepatocrinology explores the intricate relationship between liver function and the endocrine *** liver diseases such as liver cirrhosis can cause endocrine disorders due to toxin accumulation and protein synthesis *** its importance,assessing endocrine issues in cirrhotic patients is frequently *** article provides a comprehensive review of the epidemiology,pathophysiology,diagnosis,and treatment of endocrine disturbances in liver *** review was conducted using the PubMed/Medline,EMBAsE,and scielo databases,encompassing 172 *** cirrhosis is associated with endocrine disturbances,including diabetes,hypoglycemia,sarcopenia,thyroid dysfunction,hypogonadotropic hypogonadism,bone disease,adrenal insufficiency,growth hormone dysfunction,and secondary *** optimal tools for diagnosing diabetes and detecting hypoglycemia are the oral glucose tolerance test and continuous glucose monitoring system,*** can be assessed through imaging and functional tests,while other endocrine disorders are evaluated using hormonal assays and imaging *** options include metformin,glucagon-like peptide-1 analogs,sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 inhibitors,and insulin,which are effective and safe for diabetes *** standards are followed for managing hypoglycemia,and hormone replacement therapy is often necessary for other endocrine *** transplantation can address some of these problems.

The Iberian hare(lepus granatensis)is an endemic species distributed in spain and *** outbreaks affecting this species were detected in 2018 in Central and southern spain,spreading *** to evaluate factors affecting the status of hare population after the arrival of myxomatosis,we conducted 108 nocturnal hare counts in Central spain during two study periods(winter/spring and summer/autumn)in 54 different hunting grounds,covering 1071 km and observing 884 *** mean density in winter/spring was 7.66 hares/100 ha,(range 6.14-9.54/100 ha),while in summer/autumn,it was 3.4 hares/100 ha(range 2.6-4.4/100 ha).Densities of hares were not affected by the dominant habitat and the presence/absence of myxomatosis *** were more abundant at hunting grounds at a higher altitude and in those conducting targeted management,while detection of myxomatosis was related to lower altitude and higher levels of game management.A MaxEnt model used to generate a risk map for myxomatosis occurrence showed that the temperature annual range was the most important predictor,which suggests that environmental factors affecting myxomatosis vectors(mosquitoes,fleas,and ticks)could play a key role in disease *** myxomatosis in hares is becoming endemic,hare densities may be improved by game management and the monitoring and surveillance of this emerging *** surveillance programs could be the basis of effective collaborations between hunters,researchers,and environmental managers.

The use of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV)for forest monitoring has grown significantly in recent years,providing information with high spatial resolution and temporal *** with multispectral sensors allow the use of indexes such as the normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI),which determines the vigor,physiological stress and photo synthetic activity of *** study aimed to analyze the spectral responses and variations of NDVI in tree crowns,as well as their correlation with climatic factors over the course of one *** study area encompassed a 1.6-ha site in Durango,Mexico,where Pinus cembroides,Pinus engelmannii,and Quercus grisea *** images were acquired with UAV and information on meteorological variables was obtained from NAsA/POWER *** ANOVA explored possible differences in NDVI among the three *** correlation was performed to identify the linear relationship between NDVI and meteorological *** differences in NDVI values were found at the genus level(Pinus and Quercus),possibly related to the physiological features of the species and their *** grisea had the lowest NDVI values throughout the year which may be attributed to its sensitivity to relative humidity and *** the use of UAV with a multispectral sensor for NDVI monitoring allowed genera differentiation,in more complex forest analyses hyperspectral and liDAR sensors should be integrated,as well other vegetation indexes be considered.

Objectives: To assess the efficiency in terms of cost-effectiveness (CE) of oral Renalof® treatment versus extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (EsWl) in the treatment of kidney stones ≤ 1 cm in Nicaragua. Methods: A cost-effectiveness economic evaluation was carried out based on the results obtained in the randomised, prospective, observational, single-blind, prospective, phase 2 clinical trial. Cost-effectiveness and the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) were calculated. Economic data were obtained from the Economics Department of Clínica senior in Managua, Nicaragua. The monetary cost was expressed in Us dollars (UsD). Results: Treatment with Renalof® yielded a CE of $1,323.08/% remission, while EsWl was $9,498.54/% remission. The ICER shows that, in order to achieve a high percentage of kidney stone remission with EsWl, an extra $4,734.70 per patient must be invested. Conclusions: The use of Renalof® is shown to be a more cost-effective option than EsWl. It is recommended for the treatment of kidney stones ≤ 1 cm in size.

Objective:Nonspecific complaints of hearing loss,vertigo,imbalance,and instability,without a defined etiology,are very prevalent in the elderly population,with a great impact on morbidity and mortality in this age *** objectives of this study were to verify whether there is age-related vestibular dysfunction and to test the association of vestibular dysfunction with presbycusis in the elderly ***:Original retrospective analytical cross-sectional study,carried out with 80 patients who underwent a videonystagmography and complete audiometric evaluation due to nonspecific vestibular complaints,without a specific vestibular disorder *** were selected and divided into two distinct age groups(group A:>60 years;group B:18-50 years)and,in both groups,we analyzed the caloric tests and the pure-tone ***:In the vestibular evaluation,we found that there was a statistically significant difference(Ps in the prevalence of bilateral vestibular weakness(group A:22.5%;group B:5%),and that the increase in age,above 60 years,is negatively correlated with the mean total caloric ***,we obtained a reasonable negative and statistically significant correlation(r=-0.320,Psholds at high frequencies and total caloric responses in group ***:In patients with hearing loss,it is essential to perform a complete vestibular study to diagnose vestibular disorders and,consequently,prevent adverse outcomes that may result from these alterations.

BACKGROUND An isthmocele is a scar defect in the uterine wall due to a cesarean section. Its prevalence is unknown,but it has been associated with secondary ***,we present a case where the patient suffered from an isthmocele that was associated with persistent hydrometra,which developed during in vitro *** sUMMARY The patient underwent hysteroscopic surgery,which successfully resolved the isthmocele as well as the hydrometra. Afterward,two high-quality,euploid embryos,determined by morphological assessment and pre-implantation genetic diagnostic testing,were transferred. This resulted in uterine pregnancy,as determined byserum β-human chorionic gonadotropin levels on day 14(180 m U/ml) and ultrasound-confirmed presence of a gestational sac with a positive embryocardia at week 6. The pregnancy reached 36 wk without any complications,and the product was born in good health. We report a successful isthmocele treatment in a patient with secondary infertility,in which the isthmocele was the cause of persistent *** Hydrometra caused by secondary cesarean is an infertility factor,which can be corrected by hysteroscopy plus ablation of the isthmocele.

The aim of the work was to analyze and expose the donor and recipient riskfactors in pancreas transplantation. In the following paper, we exposed the 2018spanish Consensus Document on Donor and Recipient selection Criteria forPancreas Transplantation. An assessment of the previous selection Criteria forDonors and Recipients of Pancreas Transplantation, published in 2005 by thespanish Pancreas Transplant Group (GETP) and the National TransplantOrganization (ONT) was performed. A literature review was performed usingCochrane library, PubMed and Google scholar databases. some of the followingterms were used for the literature search: “Diabetes Mellitus,” “PancreasTransplantation,” “Insulin-secreting Cells,” “Pancreas Allograft Thrombosis,”“Allograft Pancreatitis,” “Donors’ Risk Factors,” “Recipients’ Risk Factors,”“Pancreas Allograft Rejection” and “Pancreas Allograft survival.” After anextended search, different inclusion criteria were established. Articles anddocuments with abstracts of full text and in English or spanish language wereselected. subsequently, different scientific meetings took place during 2015 and2016 by the GETP. Finally, the updated criteria were published by the GETP andONT in 2018. several risk factors have been described in pancreas transplantationthat can be divided into donor risk factors: Advanced age (> 50 years);high bodymass index (BMI) (> 30 kg/m2);cause of death (e.g., stroke);previoushyperglycemia;hyperamylasemia;cold ischemia time (greater than 8 or 12 h,depending on the type of donation);the use of vasopressors in the intensive careunit or cardiac arrest;and the macroscopic aspect of the pancreas allograft. Thefollowing are recipient risk factors: Advanced age (> 50 years);active smoking;high BMI (> 30 kg/m2);and peripheral artery disease or sensorimotorpolyneuropathy.
