Effect of the Application of Produced Water on the Growth, the Concentration of Minerals and Toxic Compounds in Tomato under Greenhouse

During the production of petroleum and gas a by-product, known as congenital water, is obtained, which varies in composition depending on the geological formation from which it is extracted. In the industrial process its composition is modified and then it is known as “produced water”. These waters can contain high concentrations of mineral salts that can potentially be used for crop fertilization. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of the application of produced water on the mineral contents of the plants and levels of BTEX and TPH in the fruits of greenhouse tomato cultivation. The produced waters used were derived from gas producing zone of Sabinas-Piedras Negras in northern Mexico. These waters were analyzed according to NOM-143-SEMARNAT-2003. Waters from three different stations, (Buena Suerte, Forasteros and Monclova 1), were mixed with fresh water to obtain the treatment waters used. As a control, we used a complete Steiner solution. The results showed that the produced waters modified the absorption of essential minerals in tomato plants;it was observed that the mineral concentration in plant tissues was highest in the control plants, except for Na, in which the plants irrigated with produced water had the highest concentrations. The treatments with produced waters also affected negatively the root length, leaf dry weight, stem dry weight, number of fruits per plant, and the dry weight of the fruits.

This paper presents the quantitative research results of a comprehensive study titled“Current Profle of Older Adults in Castilla-La Mancha(Spain).”The study aims to understand and describe the characteristics of individuals aged 65 and above within this autonomous region,with a focus on the variables of sex,age,and habitat.A cross-sectional approach was employed,utilizing quantitative methods to collect *** gather information,a customized questionnaire was developed to address the study objectives,covering various aspects such as sociodemographic factors,living conditions,leisure activities,social participation,and cultural *** survey was conducted via telephone,ensuring representation by employing gender quotas,age-group stratifcation,and considerations for habitat size.A representative sample of 1,065 participants was included in the *** fndings reveal a degree of homogeneity in the lifestyles of older adults,with discernible variations infuenced by factors such as sex,habitat,and *** results shed light on the diverse habits and experiences of older adults,emphasizing the signifcance of habitat conditions,social participation,and the aging process.

Nutrition is an important factor for the growth and development of plants. Among the main nutritional elements, there are nitrogen (N) and calcium (Ca). The N comes from two forms of inorganic ions, ammonium (NH 4 + ) and nitrate (NO 3 - ) whose functions in the plant are the increase in leaf area and improving the succulence of many crops, among other essential physiological processes. Both the deficit and excess NO 3 - have a negative impact on plants increasing susceptibility to insect pests and pathogens, while Ca as divalent ion absorbed Ca 2+ plays an important role in control of physiological disorders and the resistance of plants to diseases to increase the mechanical strength. The N and Ca have a close relationship in the nutritional role of the plant, because the Ca absorption acting nitrates, so that a proper balance affects plants better growth and higher strength.

Nitrogen (N) is the element with the greatest influence on the growth of vegetables and ornamentals, however, form of delivery, either as nitrate (NO 3 - ) or ammonium (NH 4 + ) has different effects on plant development. The NO 3 - is the main form of N that plants absorb, but when it is the only source of N that has slight effects on root growth, no effects over enzymatic activities, and stimulates the absorption and translocation of cations within the plant. The NH 4 + is the easiest way of assimilation but is highly toxic when the only source or with respect to the concentration of NO 3 - is too high. To avoid toxicity, the NH 4 + must not exceed 20% of the total N amount in the formulation, however, it is important to consider the species, variety and environmental conditions. The N as supplied also affects the resistance or susceptibility of plants to diseases, but depends on the species and the type of pathogen.

Fruit Set in Orange with Phytohormones and Its Relation to Endogenous Levels of GA3

This research work aims to contribute in increasing the fruit set in citrus, given its importance in determining fruit yield. The authors evaluated the effects of phytohormones (auxins, gibberellins and cytokinins) in the mooring and features of orange fruit in cultivars Washington navel and Thomson (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osb.). The experiment was established in a split plot randomized complete block design with five treatments and four replications. Flower tissue samples were stored in liquid N until the extraction of gibberellins and the identification and quantification of GA3. The results showed statistically significant difference (P ≤ 0.05) between treatments in the number of fruits retained 129 d after flowering and the percentage of final tie. GA3 content ranged, on a dry weight basis, from 1.66 mg?g-1 in the control to 20.79 mg·g-1 in the high dose. The mean dose (32.2 mg·L-1 auxins, gibberellins 32.2 mg·L-1 and 83.2 mg·L-1 cytokinins) caused the largest increase in fruit set.

We present an unusual case of portal vein thrombosis with a splanchnic hemangioma secondary to acute biliary pancreatitis. We report a 45-year-old patient, who has systemic arterial hypertension in treatment, was admitted for abdominal pain in the epigastrium, with irradiation to the right hypochondrium, accompanied by nausea and vomiting of 10 occasions of bile content, physical examination with pain in the right hypochondrium, Murphy positive. We have laboratory studies with a lipase of 788, so a diagnosis of pancreatitis is made with an etiology to be determined. The laboratories suggestive of acute biliary pancreatitis (lipase 788.71);an imaging study was subsequently performed (ultrasonography) with the result of stone in the common bile duct. A laparoscopy was performed with relative improvement, so he was discharged and returned 20 days after surgery due to abdominal pain of the same intensity in the left hypochondrium. Ending his hospitalization with a splenectomy for splenic hemangioma with portal vein thrombosis.

Bimetallic cobalt-nickel sulfide nanoparticles anchored on S-,N-codoped holey carbon nanosheets(CoNiS-T@NCFs)with a hydrangea-like morphology,were synthesized via a confinement synthesis route,in which an intercalated LDH precursor was subjected to the interlayer-confined carbonization and host-layer *** phase transformation and structure evolution(e.g.,atom site occupancy,crystallite size,and cell volume)of the CoNi-S-T@NCFs electrocatalysts,as a function of sulfurization temperatures,were confirmed by X-ray diffraction and Rietveld *** sulfur vacancies effectively enhance the electrocatalytic activity,while the synergistic effect of(Co,Ni)7 S8 alloy and S,N-codoped carbon matrix facilitates the electron transfer and accelerates reaction kinetics,making CoNi-S-900@NCFs an efficient and stable bifunctional electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).The rich highvalence Co(Ⅲ)and Ni(Ⅲ)of CoNi-S-900@NCFs facilitates the in-situ transformation of the metal(oxy)hydroxides intermediates with high catalytic activity for oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Thus,with a bifunctional parameter,ΔE,of 0.75 V(E_(j=10,OER)-E_(1/2,ORR)),this electrocatalyst slightly outperforms the state-of-the-art commercial Pt/C+RuO_(2)/C catalyst(ΔE=0.76 V)in alkaline *** work demonstrates the influence that the sulfurization temperature has on the relationship between the structure and electrocatalytic performance of bimetallic sulfides prepared by the synthesis strategy using the intercalated LDH *** strategy can be extended to prepare other chalcogenides with binary or ternary transition metals.

As society faces global challenges such as population growth and climate change,rethinking cities is now more imperative than *** design of cities can not be abstracted from the design of their mobility ***,efficient solutions must be found to transport people and goods throughout the city efficiently and *** autonomous bicycle-sharing system would combine the most relevant benefits of vehicle-sharing,autonomy,and micro-mobility,increasing the efficiency and convenience of bicycle-sharing systems and incentivizing more people to bike and enjoy their cities in an environmentally friendly *** to the novelty of introducing autonomous driving technology into bicycle-sharing systems and their inherent complexity,there is a need to quantify the potential impact of autonomy on fleet performance and user *** paper presents the results of an agent-based simulation that provides an in-depth understanding of the fleet behavior of autonomous bicycle-sharing systems in realistic scenarios,including a rebalancing system based on demand *** addition,this work describes the impact of different parameters on system efficiency and service ***,it quantifies the extent to which an autonomous system would outperform current station-based and dockless bicycle-sharing *** obtained results show that with a fleet size three and a half times smaller than a station-based system and eight times smaller than a dockless system,an autonomous system can improve overall performance and user experience even with no rebalancing.
