The Iberian hare(Lepus granatensis)is an endemic species distributed in Spain and *** outbreaks affecting this species were detected in 2018 in Central and Southern Spain,spreading *** to evaluate factors affecting the status of hare population after the arrival of myxomatosis,we conducted 108 nocturnal hare counts in Central Spain during two study periods(winter/spring and summer/autumn)in 54 different hunting grounds,covering 1071 km and observing 884 *** mean density in winter/spring was 7.66 hares/100 ha,(range 6.14-9.54/100 ha),while in summer/autumn,it was 3.4 hares/100 ha(range 2.6-4.4/100 ha).Densities of hares were not affected by the dominant habitat and the presence/absence of myxomatosis *** were more abundant at hunting grounds at a higher altitude and in those conducting targeted management,while detection of myxomatosis was related to lower altitude and higher levels of game management.A MaxEnt model used to generate a risk map for myxomatosis occurrence showed that the temperature annual range was the most important predictor,which suggests that environmental factors affecting myxomatosis vectors(mosquitoes,fleas,and ticks)could play a key role in disease *** myxomatosis in hares is becoming endemic,hare densities may be improved by game management and the monitoring and surveillance of this emerging *** surveillance programs could be the basis of effective collaborations between hunters,researchers,and environmental managers.

Ultrafast laser pulses provide unique tools to manipulate magnetization dynamics at femtosecond timescales,where the interaction of the electric field usually dominates over the magnetic *** proposals using structured laser beams have demonstrated the possibility to produce regions where intense oscillating magnetic fields are isolated from the electric *** these conditions,we show that technologically feasible tesla-scale circularly polarized high-frequency magnetic fields induce purely precessional nonlinear magnetization *** fundamental result not only opens an avenue in the study of laser-induced ultrafast magnetization dynamics,but also sustains technological implications as a route to promote all-optical non-thermal magnetization dynamics both at shorter timescales-towards the subfemtosecond regime-and at THz frequencies.

Objective: This study aims to systematically examine the existing evidence regarding the clinical benefits of carbocysteine as an adjunctive treatment in acute bronchopulmonary and otorhinological processes. Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis. Data sources: An electronic search was conducted across PubMed, Cochrane Library, ***, and the European Clinical Trial Register, with the search dated to May 2023. Bibliographic references from other literature reviews and meta-analyses were also reviewed. The search was limited to randomized clinical trials published in any language and year. It was completed by cross-checking the references of the located articles. Methods: Inclusion criteria covered studies assessing systemic or inhaled carbocysteine, regardless of dosing regimen. Concomitant medication use was acceptable if balanced between intervention and control groups. Authors independently extracted data, resolving disagreements through consensus. Methodological quality assessment relied on critical reading of each study. Dichotomous variables were analyzed using odds ratio (OR), and a final effect size was calculated. Statistical significance was established when confidence intervals did not cross the neutral value. Heterogeneity was assessed via the X2 test and I2 index. Results: Out of 318 initially identified studies, 4 met inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis for poor general condition yielded an OR of 0.45 in favor of intervention, p = 0.013, with non-significant heterogeneity. Cough events showed a percentage of 15.8% for carbocysteine vs. 27.2% for placebo. On the seventh day, expectoration rates were 18.37% for carbocysteinevs 33.3% for placebo. Conclusions: The observed clinical benefits align with carbocysteine’s mucoactive and muco-regulatory properties, complemented by anti-inflammatory and antioxidant actions. A family of Ce-doped LaCoO_(3) perovskites are presented as possible catalysts for Cl-VOCs *** materials with different contents of Ce were obtained through the citrate and the reactive grinding *** insertion of Ce in the original perovskite structure favours the presence of Co^(2+)/Co^(3+) and Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+) redox pairs and a higher content of oxygen vacancies that enhances the catalytic performance in chlorobenzene combustion based on differential kinetics *** family obtained by the grinding method presents a performance as high as that synthesized by citrate ***,the reactive grinding is a feasible green chemistry alternative to obtain a catalyst with the same performance as that obtained from traditional ***,the stability of samples was evaluated under total combustion reaction conditions showing an excellent activity during 45 h time on stream.

The viability of a complete structural characterization of civil structures is explored and discussed. In particular, the identification of modal （i.e. natural frequencies, damping ratios and modal shapes） and physical properties （i.e. mass and stiffness） using only the structure＇s free decay response is studied. To accomplish this, modal analysis from flee vibration response only （MAFVRO） and mass modification （MM） methodologies are engaged along with Wavelet based techniques for optimal signal processing and modal reconstruction. The methodologies are evaluated using simulated and experimental data. The simulated data are extracted from a simple elastic model of a 5 story shear building and from a more realistic nonlinear model of a RC frame structure. The experimental data are gathered from shake table test of a 2-story scaled shear building. Guidelines for the reconstruction procedure from the data are proposed as the quality of the identified properties is shown to be governed by adequate selection of the frequency bands and optimal modal shape reconstruction. Moreover, in cases where the structure has undergone damage, the proposed identification scheme can also be applied for preliminary assessment of structural health.

Recent research has challenged the idea that cervid antlers are such costly traits,supporting the assertion early-life antler investment is an honest signal of adult phenotypic ***,inferences were made based on antler measurements while growing(velvet)and thus,studies on fully-formed clean antlers are needed to avoid possible bias caused by the inter-individual variation in antler growth *** studied a semi-captive population of European roe deer inhabiting a sub-Mediterranean area(Valsemana research station)and living under optimal conditions(ad libitum food supply and veterinary care).Based on repeated measurements taken from 146 individuals,we assessed whether allocation to secondary sexual traits during early life affected body mass or antler development during ***,we evaluated which body measurements better predicted future male ***,using 488 individuals,we described age-class-specific variation in male body measurements and assessed the decline in antler size between adult and senescent stages(*** of senescence).Results agree with the assertion that there is no negative effect of a high investment in antler during early life on adult antler size or body mass,but we suggest the use of clean antlers as a more robust and reliable *** variables that better predicted body mass during adulthood were yearling body mass and body size at 6 *** score between 10 and 18 months resulted in the best indicator of adult antler ***,we support the idea that the magnitude of senescence in antler size is smaller in environments with higher resource availability during winter.

One of the main constraints for reducing the temporal duration of attosecond pulses is the attochirp inherent to the process of high-order harmonic generation(HHG).Though the attochirp can be compensated in the extreme-ultraviolet using dispersive materials,this is unfeasible toward x-rays,where the shortest attosecond or even sub-attosecond pulses could be *** theoretically demonstrate that HHG driven by a circularly polarized infrared pulse while assisted by an strong oscillating ultrafast intense magnetic field enables the generation of few-cycle Fourier-limited few attosecond *** such a novel scenario,the magnetic field transversally confines the ionized electron during the HHG process,analogously to a nanowire *** the electron is ionized,the transverse electron dynamics is excited by the magnetic field,acting as a high-energy reservoir to be released in the form of phase-locked spectrally wide high-frequency harmonic radiation during the electron recollision with the parent *** addition,the transverse breathing dynamics of the electron wavepacket,introduced by the magnetic trapping,strongly modulates the recollision efficiency of the electronic trajectories,thus the attosecond pulse *** aftermath is the possibility of producing high-frequency(hundreds of eV)attosecond isolated few-cycle pulses,almost Fourier *** isolated intense magnetic fields considered in our simulations,of tens of kT,can be produced in finite spatial volumes considering structured beams or stationary configurations of counter-propagating state-of-the-art multi-terawatt/petawatt lasers.

Thermal resolution(also referred to as temperature uncertainty)establishes the minimum discernible temperature change sensed by luminescent thermometers and is a key figure of merit to rank *** has been done to minimize its value via probe optimization and correction of readout artifacts,but little effort was put into a better exploitation of calibration *** this context,this work aims at providing a new perspective on the definition of luminescence-based thermometric parameters using dimensionality reduction techniques that emerged in the last *** application of linear(Principal Component Analysis)and non-linear(t-distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding)transformations to the calibration datasets obtained from rare-earth nanoparticles and semiconductor nanocrystals resulted in an improvement in thermal resolution compared to the more classical intensity-based and ratiometric ***,in turn,enabled precise monitoring of temperature changes smaller than 0.1℃.The methods here presented allow choosing superior thermometric parameters compared to the more classical ones,pushing the performance of luminescent thermometers close to the experimentally achievable limits.
