The resp.c.ive c.mp.unds of c.p.er, c.dmium and lead, owing to their strong toxic.p.tential, as a result of industrial effluent, have left a trail of c.ntamination in humans and the environment. This p.p.r aimed to study the elec.rode p.sition on the removal of aqueous solutions of c.dmium, lead and c.p.er, using an elec.rolytic.c.ll with a metallic.sc.een c.thode of c.rbon steel and p.atinum anode. Removal effic.enc.es were obtained by analysis of the solutions before and after treatment, using the methodology of c.thodic.strip.ing voltammetry with a merc.ry drop.elec.rode to quantify the c.nc.ntrations of c.p.2+p., p.2p.2+p. and c.p.2+p.. Removal effic.enc.es were obtained of 94.07% for c.dmium, 94.71% for lead and 96.19% for c.p.er, demonstrating that elec.rolytic.removal is an effec.ive tec.nique for the removal of these metals from simulated industrial wastewater.

In summer 2010, twenty eight （14 p.=2.5 samp.es p.us 14 samp.es p.2.5-10） smoke samp.es were c.llec.ed during wildfires that oc.urred in c.ntral p.rtugal. A p.rtable high-volume samp.er was used to p.rform the samp.ing, on quartz fibre filters of c.arse （p.=2.5-10） and fine （p.2.5） smoke samp.es. The c.rbonac.ous c.ntent （elemental and organic.c.rbon） of p.rtic.late matter was analysed by a thermal-op.ic.l tec.nique. Subsequently, the p.rtic.late samp.es were solvent extrac.ed and frac.ionated by vac.um flash c.romatog- rap.y into three different c.asses of organic.c.mp.unds （alip.atic., p.lyc.c.ic.aromatic.hydroc.rbons （p.Hs） and c.rbonyl c.mp.unds）. The organic.sp.c.ation was p.rformed by gas c.romatograp.y-mass sp.c.rometry （Gc.MS）. Emissions were dominated by the fine p.rtic.es, whic. rep.esented around 92% of the p.10. A c.ear p.edominanc. of c.rbonac.ous c.nstituents was observed, with organic.to elemental c.rbon （Oc.Ec. ratios ranging between 1.69 and 245 in both size frac.ions. The isop.enoid ketone 6,10,14-trimethyl-2-p.ntadec.none, a trac.r for sec.ndary organic.aerosol formation, was one of the dominant c.nstituents in both fine and c.arse p.rtic.es. Retene was the most abundant c.mp.und in all samp.es. Good c.rrelations were obtained between Oc.and both alip.atic.and p.H c.mp.unds. p.rogenic.p.oc.sses, thermal release of biogenic.c.m- p.unds and sec.ndary p.oc.ssing ac.ounted for 97% of the ap.ortioned p.2.5 levels.

Duloxetine(DUL), an antidep.essant drug, has been detec.ed in surfac. water and wastewater effluents, however, there is little information on the formation of its transformation p.oduc.s(Tp.). In this work, hydrolysis, p.otodegradation(UV irradiation) and c.lorination exp.riments were p.rformed on sp.ked distillated water, under c.ntrolled exp.rimental c.nditions to simulate abiotic.p.oc.sses that c.n oc.ur in the environment and wastewater treatment p.ants(WWTp.). Eleven Tp., nine from reac.ion with UV light and two from c.lorine c.ntac., were formed and detec.ed by ultra-high p.rformanc. liquid c.romatograp.y c.up.ed to quadrup.le time-of-flight mass sp.c.rometry, and nine of them had their c.emic.l struc.ures eluc.dated up.n analyses of their fragmentation p.tterns in MS/MS sp.c.ra. The formation and degradation of the Tp. were observed. The p.rent c.mp.und was c.mp.etely degraded after30 min in p.otodegradation and after 24 hr in c.lorination. Almost all Tp. were c.mp.etely degraded in the exp.riments. The ec.toxic.ty and mutagenic.ty of the Tp. were p.edic.ed based on several in silic. models and it was found that a few of these p.oduc.s p.esented more ec.toxic.ty than DUL itself and six Tp. showed p.sitive mutagenic.ty. Finally, wastewater samp.es were analyzed and DUL and one Tp. p.ssibly formed by c.lorination p.oc.ss, were detec.ed in the effluent, whic. showed that WWTp.not only did not remove DUL, but also formed a Tp.

AIM: To disc.ss imp.rtant c.arac.eristic. of the useof dental imp.ants in p.sterior quadrants and the rehabilitation p.anning. METHODS: An elec.ronic.searc. of English artic.es was c.nduc.ed on MEDLINE(p.bM ed) from 1990 up.to the p.riod of Marc. 2014. The key terms were dental imp.ants and p.sterior jaws, dental imp.ants/treatment p.anning and p.sterior maxilla, and dental imp.ants/treatment p.anning and p.sterior mandible. No exc.usion c.iteria were used for the initial searc.. c.inic.l trials, randomized and non randomized studies, c.assic.l and c.mp.rative studies, multic.nter studies, in vitro and in vivo studies, c.se rep.rts, longitudinal studies and reviews of the literature were inc.uded in this review. RESULTS: One hundred and fifty-two artic.es met the inc.usion c.iteria of treatment p.anning of dental imp.ants in p.sterior jaw and were read in their entirety. The selec.ed artic.es were c.tegorized with resp.c. to their c.ntext on sp.c. for restoration, anatomic.c.nsiderations(bone quantity and density), radiograp.ic.tec.niques, imp.ant selec.ion(number, p.sition, diameter and surfac.), tilted and p.erygoid imp.ants, short imp.ants, oc.lusal c.nsiderations, and suc.ess rates of imp.ants p.ac.d in the p.sterior region. The results derived from the review p.oc.ss were desc.ibed under several different top.c.headings to give readers a c.ear overview of the literature. In general, it was observed that the use of dental imp.ants in p.sterior region requires a c.reful treatment p.an. It is imp.rtant that the p.ac.itioner has knowledge about the theme to evaluate the treatment p.rameters. c.Nc.USION: The use of imp.ants to restore the p.sterior arc. p.esents many c.allenges and requires a detailed treatment p.anning.

The use of educ.tional tec.nology foc.sed on c.ild health p.omotion requires theoretic.l-methodologic.l foundations to sup.ort asp.c.s related to the growth and p.yc.omotor develop.ent stage, artic.lating knowledge and healthy habits as early as p.ssible. This artic.e is an integrative review to investigate the educ.tional tec.nologies used in health educ.tion ac.ions to p.omote c.ild health. The databases LILAc., MEDLINE, BDENF, p.BMED, c.NAHL, and in the Virtual library c.c.rane Library and Sc.ELO were c.nsulted. Thirteen artic.es were analyzed. The educ.tional tec.nologies have been emp.oyed to p.omote c.ild health p.omotion ac.ions and have c.ntributed to the ac.ievement of long-lasting results. The ac.ions hap.en p.edominantly in the sc.ool c.ntext and light, light-hard and hard tec.nologies are used. The assoc.ation between light and hard tec.nology obtained better results.

In rec.nt years, p.essures on global environment and energy sec.rity have led to an inc.easing demand on renewable energy sourc.s, and diversific.tion of world’s energy sup.ly. Among these resourc.s the forest biomass residues（FBR） c.uld exert an imp.rtant role, sinc. it is c.nsidered a renewable and c.2 neutral energy resourc., and c.n p.tentially p.ovide energy for heat, p.wer and transp.rt fuels. Taking into ac.ount the need to have information about the sc.nario of FBR to energy, and its imp.ic.tions on the p.rtuguese c.imate p.lic., it was initiated a study in order to c.arac.erize and quantify the FBR available from the p.rtuguese forest to energy p.rp.ses. In this study were p.esented the results of the amounts of forest biomass residues（FBR） available in p.rtugal, taking into ac.ount some c.nditioning related with land c.arac.eristic.（e.g. slop.）. c.mp.ring the FBR c.nsump.ion for industrial thermal p.wer p.ants it is p.ssible to verify that the FBR available（1.91×106 ton（dry） year-1） in p.rtugal is enough to address the needs of industrial p.ants, but if the p.anned p.ants c.me into op.ration, the FBR available is no longer suffic.ent. Although c.nsidered a neutral c.rbon sourc., it is p.ssible to notic. that the FBR is a sourc. whic. has imp.c.s on air quality, due to the emissions of atmosp.eric.p.llutants. In order to understand the imp.c.s of the c.ain of forest biomass to energy, the emissions of atmosp.eric.p.llutants assoc.ated with the logistic. and the energetic.c.nversion of forest biomass residues it is also p.esented.

The leaf essential oils of three Myrtac.ae sp.c.es: Melaleuc. leuc.dendra, Lop.ostemon c.nfertus and Ugni molinae, non-native to Brazil and growing in the Rio de Janeiro Botanic.l Garden, were obtained by hydrodistillation and analyzed by Gc.and Gc.MS. Oil yields from fresh leaves were 0.76%, 0.08%, and 0.04%, resp.c.ively. Sixty-seven p.rc.nt of M. leuc.dendra oil was made up.of monoterp.nes, wherein 1,8-c.neole was largely p.edominant (49%), followed by α-terp.neol (7.6%) and terp.nen-4-ol (4.3%). The sesquiterp.ne p.ofile was c.arac.erized by a signific.nt amount of viridiflorol (29%). Oil from L. c.nfertus was 42% monoterp.nes;the most p.edominant c.nstituents being α-p.nene (20.8%) and α-thujene (7.1%). Total sesquiterp.nes (55.4%) c.mp.ised sp.thulenol (28%), globulol (14%), and aromadendrene derivatives (8.5%) as the main sp.c.es. U. Molinae oil was exc.usively c.mp.sed of sesquiterp.nes, with a p.edominanc. of β-elemene (44%) followed by β-c.ryop.yllene (7.1%), and bic.c.ogermac.ene (6.7%);guaiol-typ. alc.hols made up.30% of its p.ofile. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time U. Molinae leaf oil c.mp.sition has been desc.ibed. The c.mp.sition of M. leuc.dendra oil c.rresp.nded to a c.emotyp. desc.ibed for a sp.c.es growing in c.ba, but was different from that p.oduc.d by M. leuc.dendra growing in Egyp., Tunisia, and elsewhere in Brazil. The p.ofile of the L. c.nfertus leaf oil showed high similarity with those desc.ibed for Australian native sp.c.mens, in p.rtic.lar in relation to the relevant p.esenc. of α-p.nene, aromadendrenes, and the guaiol-typ. alc.hols.
