Antiglycation and antioxidant activities of the crude extract and saponin fraction of Tribulus terrestris before and after microcapsule release

Objective:The present study investigated antiglycation and antioxidant activities of crude dry extract and saponin fraction of Tribulus *** also developed a method of microencapsulation and evaluated antiglycation and antioxidant activities of crude dry extract and saponin fraction before and after microcapsule ***:Antiglycation activity was determined by relative electrophoretic mobility(REM),free amino groups and inhibition of advanced glycation end-product(AGE)*** activity was determined by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH),ferric ion-reducing antioxidant power(FRAP),nitric oxide(NO)and thiobarbituric acid reactive species(TBARS)*** were prepared using maltodextrin as wall material and freeze-drying as encapsulation *** characterization of microcapsules was evaluated by scanning electron microscopy,and encapsulation efficiency and microcapsule release were determined by total saponins *** and antioxidant assays were performed using crude dry extract and saponin fraction of *** before and after ***:Saponin fraction showed an increase of 32.8%total ***-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis showed the presence of saponins in the obtained *** evaluation by REM demonstrated that samples before and after release presented antiglycation activity similar to bovine serum albumin treated with ***,samples inhibited AGE formation,highlighting treatment with saponin fraction after release(89.89%).Antioxidant tests demonstrated antioxidant activity of the *** dry extract before encapsulation presented the highest activities in DPPH(92.00%)and TBARS(32.49%)*** fraction before encapsulation in FRAP test(499μmol Trolox equivalent per gram of dry sample)and NO test(15.13μmol nitrite formed per gram of extract)presented the highest ***:This study presen

Objective:To evaluate the photoprotective,antioxidant,antiglycation,and antiacne activities of crude extract(cESs)and triterpene saponin fraction(TSSs)of Sapindus ***:HPLc-MS purification was performed on a Symmetry TM c18 *** saponins were identified by a UV *** activity was evaluated by DPPH and O_(2)^(−)radicals scavenging,and FRAP and TBARS *** activity was assessed by relative electrophoretic mobility and inhibition of advanced glycation end products(AGEs)***,antiacne activity was determined by inhibition of cutibacterium acnes,and photoprotective effect was evaluated by Mansur’s ***:Most of the triterpene saponins detected in the fraction by HPLc-MS analysis were hederagenin as the *** and TSSs presented varying antioxidant activity in DPPH(cESs:75.69%and TSSs:83.65%),FRAP(cESs:425.39μM TE/g DW and TSSs:649.36μM TE/g DW),TBARS(cESs:42.96%and TSSs:52.16%)and O_(2)^(−)radicals scavenging(cESs:61.33%and TSSs:86.69%)*** and TSSs also exhibited antiglycation activity comparable to bovine serum albumin treated with *** addition,cESs and TSSs showed inhibition of AGE formation(34.48%and 61.85%,respectively).Antiacne activity against cutibacterium acnes was observed with a minimum inhibitory concentration equal to minimum bactericidal concentration(cESs:36.11µg/mL and TSSs:18.34µg/mL).In photoprotective assays,cESs and TSSs showed maximum absorbance of 1.42 to 0.20 and 2.80 to 1.30,respectively,in the wavelength range of 260 to 400 ***,cESs and TSSs showed sun protection factors of 8.89 and 14.89,***:Sapindus saponaria fruit extracts show strong antioxidant potential and antiglycation activity against bovine serum albumin glycation and AGE ***,they presented antibacterial activity against cutibacterium acnes and photoprotective effect against UV-A and UV-B.

In recent years,the new technologies and discoveries on manufacturing materials have encouraged researchers to investigate the appearance of material properties that are not naturally *** featuring a specific stiffness,or structures that combine non-structural and stmctural functions are applied in the aerospace,electronics and medical industry ***,structures designed for dynamic actuation with reduced vibration response are the focus of this *** bi-material and multifunctional concepts are considered for the design of a controlled piezoelectric actuator with vibration suppression by means of the topology optimization method(TOM).The bi-material piezoelectric actuator(BPEA)has its metallic host layer designed by the TOM,which defines the structural function,and the electric function is given by two piezo-ceramic layers that act as a sensor and an actuator coupled with a constant gain active velocity feedback control(AVFc).The AVFc,provided by the piezoelectric layers,affects the structural damping of the system through the velocity state variables readings in time *** dynamic equation analyzed throughout the optimization procedure is fully elaborated and *** dynamic response for the rectangular fbur-noded finite element analysis is obtained by the Newmark's time-integration method,which is applied to the physical and the adjoint systems,given that the adjoint formulation is needed for the sensitivity analysis.A gradient-based optimization method is applied to minimize the displacement energy output measured at a predefined degree-of-freedom of the BPEA when a transient mechanical load is *** are obtained for different control gain values to evaluate their influence on the final topology.

Although auditory alterations are not a typical symptom of diabetes mellitus (DM), they can occur in patients with type 1 DM. The findings of previous studies are controversial, because the frequency and degree of hearing loss varies, and quite often alterations are still subclinical. The typical test used to detect and manage hearing loss is the audiogram, but this test alone is only capable of detecting alterations due to injury of the inner hair cells and/or alterations in the central auditory pathway. However, auditory alterations resulting from a dysfunction that is still subclinical are only able to be detected through electrophysiological auditory tests, such as the otoacoustic emissions (OAE) and the auditory brainstem response (ABR) tests. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to review the studies that utilize the OAE and ABR tests, and to verify if the dysfunction is cochlear and/or neural in patients with type 1 DM. The findings of this review demonstrate that patients with type 1 DM can have auditory alterations stemming from a central cochlear origin. Following this finding, early diagnosis is very important in order to implement preventative treatments and initiate therapy.

Stop-start vehicles(SSVs)represent a potential alternative for improving internal combustion engine(IcE)*** provide IcEs with the functionality of turning the engine off during traffic halts and restarting it without intervention by the *** strategy reduces fuel consumption,especially in dense urban traffic areas,and contributes to emissions reduction to meet green emissions *** most widely adopted SSV system has a mechanical interface to connect the electric starter motor to the IcE,which requires increased robustness compared with standard starting *** requirement allows the motor to withstand a higher number of engine start cycles compared with a standard starting ***,it is a critical problem for wider adoption of *** SSV systems usually are based on the conventional starting system,its durability and noise remains a critical issue to be addressed by *** typical pinion-ring gear interface uses intermittent gear meshing to form a transient coupling *** research reported here presents the development of an innovative mechanical interface for starting systems,called the permanent coupling(Pc)-type interface,which reduces noise and increases durability compared with the existing *** results obtained by a functional prototype of the Pc-type mechanical interface confirm the feasibility of the proposed *** methodology is based on a product development process integrated with lumped-parameter modeling and virtual simulation aimed at reducing failures during prototype *** new mechanical interface was proven to be a good candidate for increasing the use of SSVs in the automotive market.

The development of artificial intelligence(AI)and smart home technologies has driven the need for speech recognition-based *** demand stems from the quest for more intuitive and natural interaction between users and smart devices in their *** recognition allows users to control devices and perform everyday actions through spoken commands,eliminating the need for physical interfaces or touch screens and enabling specific tasks such as turning on or off the light,heating,or lowering the *** purpose of this study is to develop a speech-based classification model for recognizing human actions in the smart *** seeks to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of using machine learning techniques in predicting categories,subcategories,and actions from sentences.A dataset labeled with relevant information about categories,subcategories,and actions related to human actions in the smart home is *** methodology uses machine learning techniques implemented in Python,extracting features using countVectorizer to convert sentences into numerical *** results show that the classification model is able to accurately predict categories,subcategories,and actions based on sentences,with 82.99%accuracy for category,76.19%accuracy for subcategory,and 90.28%accuracy for *** study concludes that using machine learning techniques is effective for recognizing and classifying human actions in the smart home,supporting its feasibility in various scenarios and opening new possibilities for advanced natural language processing systems in the field of AI and smart homes.
