Responsiveness of functional performance and muscle strength,power,and size to resistance training:A systematic review

There is a recent and growing interest in assessing differential responders to resistance training(RT)for diverse ***,the individual ability to respond to an intervention for a specific measurement,called responsiveness,remains to be better ***,the current study aimed to summarize the available information about the effects of RT on functional performance and muscle strength,power,and size in healthy adults,through the prevalence rate in different responsiveness classifications models.A systematic review was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRIsMA)and was registered at the International Prospective Register of systematic Reviews(PROsPERO,CRD42021265378).PubMed/MEDLINE,scopus,and Embase databases were systematically searched in October 2023.A total of 13 studies were included,totaling 921 *** two studies presented a low risk of *** the effectiveness of RT,the prevalence rate for non-responders ranged from 0%to 44%for muscle strength,from 0%to 84%for muscle size,and from 0%to 42%for functional performance,while for muscle power,the only study found showed a responsiveness rate of 37%.In conclusion,a wide range of differential responders is described for all variables ***,the evidence summarized in this systematic review suggested some caution while interpreting the findings,since the body of evidence found seems to be incipient,and widely heterogeneous in methodological and statistical aspects.

Analysis of the Power system from an Electron Beam Accelerator and the Correlation with the Theoretical Dosimetry for Radiation Processing

Dynamitron DC1500/25/04 type EBA （Electron beam accelerator）, model JOB 188, was manufactured by IBA Industrial （Radiation Dynamics, Inc.） and installed at IPEN-CNEN/sP, in 1978. The technical specifications of the EBA are： energy 0.5 to 1.5 MeV; beam current： 0.3 to 25.0 mA; beam scanning： 60 to 120 cm; beam width： 25.4 mm and frequency： 100 Hz. Nowadays, this accelerator has been used for innumerable applications, such as： for sterilization of medical, pharmaceutical and biological products, treatment of industrial and domestic effluents and sludge, preservation and disinfestations of foods and agricultural products. Other important application are lignocellulosic material irradiation as a pre-treatment to produce ethanol bio-fuel, decontamination of pesticide packing, solid residues remediation, organic compounds removal from wastewater, treatment of effluent from petroleum production units, crosslinking of foams, wires and electric cables. Electron accelerator JOB 188 is, also, very important composite and nanocomposite materials and carbon fibers irradiation, irradiated grafting ion-exchange membranes for fuel cells application, natural polymers and multilayer packages irradiation and biodegradable blends production. The energy of the electron beam is calculated as a function of the current in the accelerator high-voltage divisor, taking into account the thickness and density of the material to be irradiated. This energy is calculated considering the electron through the entire material and the distance from the titanium foil window, so that the absorbed doses at the points of entrance and exit are equivalent on the material. The dose is directly proportional to the beam current and the exposure time of the material under the electron beam and inversely proportional to the scan width. The aim of this paper is to analyze the power system parameters of the EBA Dynamitron DC 1500/25/04, such as, voltage and RMs （Root-mean-square） current in the oscillator system,

Numerical simulation of saint-Venant Equations with Thermal Energy Dependency: Applications on Global Warming

since the Industrial Revolution, humanity has been intensifying the burning of fossil fuels and as a consequence, the average temperature on Earth has been increasing. The 20th century was the warmest and future prospects are not favorable, that is, even higher temperatures are expected. This demonstrates the importance of studies on the subject, mainly to predict possible environmental, social and economic consequences. The objective of this work was to identify the interference of the increase in ambient temperature in the dynamics of fluids, such as ocean waves advancing over the continent. for this, thermal energy was considered in the saint-Venant equations and computational implementations were performed via Lax-friedrichs and Adams-Moulton methods. The results indicated that, in fact, depending on the amount of thermal energy transferred to the fluid, the advance of water towards the continent can occur, even in places where such a phenomenon has never been observed.

Numerical solutions of the Classical and Modified Buckley-Leverett Equations Applied to Two-Phase fluid flow

Climate change is a reality. The burning of fossil fuels from oil, natural gas and coal is responsible for much of the pollution and the increase in the planet’s average temperature, which has raised discussions on the subject, given the emergencies related to climate. An energy transition to clean and renewable sources is necessary and urgent, but it will not be quick. In this sense, increasing the efficiency of oil extraction from existing sources is crucial, to avoid waste and the drilling of new wells. The purpose of this work was to add diffusive and dispersive terms to the Buckley-Leverett equation in order to incorporate extra phenomena in the temporal evolution between the water-oil and oil-water transitions in the pipeline. for this, the modified Buckley-Leverett equation was discretized via essentially weighted non-oscillatory schemes, coupled with a three-stage Runge-Kutta and a fourth-order centered finite difference methods. Then, computational simulations were performed and the results showed that new features emerge in the transitions, when compared to classical simulations. for instance, the dispersive term inhibits the diffusive term, adding oscillations, which indicates that the absorption of the fluid by the porous medium occurs in a non-homogeneous manner. Therefore, based on research such as this, decisions can be made regarding the replacement of the porous medium or the insertion of new components to delay the replacement.

Extracellular vesicles-coupled miRNAs from oviduct and uterus modulate signaling pathways related to lipid metabolism and bovine early embryo development

Background Extracellular vesicles(EVs) present in oviductal(Of) and uterine fluid(Uf) have been shown to enhance bovine embryo quality during in vitro culture by reducing lipid contents and modulating lipid metabolism-related genes(LMGs), while also influencing cell proliferation, suggesting their involvement on the regulation of different biological pathways. The regulation of signaling pathways related to cell differentiation, proliferation, and metabo-lism is crucial for early embryo development and can determine the success or failure of the pregnancy. Bioactive molecules within EVs in maternal reproductive fluids, such as micro RNAs(miRNAs), may contribute to this regulatory process as they modulate gene expression through post-transcriptional *** This study evaluated miRNA cargo in Of-EVs from the early luteal phase and Uf-EVs from the mid-luteal phase, coinciding with embryo transit within oviduct and uterus in vivo, and its possible influence on LMGs and sign-aling pathways crucial for early embryo development. A total of 333 miRNAs were detected, with 11 exclusive to Of, 59 to Uf, and 263 were common between both groups. from the 20 differentially expressed miRNAs, 19 up-regulated in Uf-EVs(bta-miR-134, bta-miR-151-3p, bta-miR-155, bta-miR-188, bta-miR-181b, bta-miR-181d, bta-miR-224, bta-miR-23b-3p, bta-miR-24-3p, bta-miR-27a-3p, bta-miR-29a, bta-miR-324, bta-miR-326, bta-miR-345-3p, bta-miR-410, bta-miR-652, bta-miR-677, bta-miR-873 and bta-miR-708) and one(bta-miR-148b) in Of-EVs. These miRNAs were predicted to modulate several pathways such as Wnt, Hippo, MAPK, and lipid metabolism and degradation. Pramipexole, a dopamine D3/D2 receptor-preferring agonist, attenuates reserpine-induced fibromyalgia-like model in mice

fibromyalgia(fM) is a complex pathology described as persistent hyperalgesia including somatic and mood dysfunctions, depression and anxiety. Although the etiology of fM is still unknown, a significant decrease in biogenic amines is a common characteristic in its pathogenesis. Here, our main objective was to investigate the role of dopamine D3/D2 receptor during the reserpine-induced pain in mice. Our results showed that pramipexole(PPX) – a dopaminergic D3/D2 receptor agonist – inhibited mechanical allodynia and thermal sensitivity induced by reserpine. Relevantly, PPX treatment decreased immobility time and increased the number of grooming in the forced swimming test and splash test, respectively. Animals that received PPX remained longer in the open arms than the reserpine group using elevated plusmaze apparatus. The repeated PPX administration, given daily for 4 days, significantly blocked the mechanical and thermal allodynia during fM model, similarly to pregabalin, although it failed to affect the reserpine-induced thermal nociception. Reserpine administration induced significant downregulation of dopamine concentration in the central nervous system, and repeated treatment with PPX restored dopamine levels in the frontal cortex and spinal cord tissues. Moreover, PPX treatment inhibited oxidants production such as DCfH(2′,7′-dichlorodihydrofluorescein) and nitrite, also decreased oxidative damage(carbonyl), and upregulated the activity of superoxide dismutase in the spinal cord. Together, our findings demonstrated the ability of dopamine D3/D2 receptor-preferring agonist in reducing pain and mood dysfunction allied to fM in mice. All experimental protocols were approved by the Universidade federal de santa Catarina(UfsC) Ethics Committee(approval No. 2572210218) on May 10, 2018.

Effect of Magnesia Blending on the Magnetic Properties of Grain Oriented silicon steel

Decarburized samples of grain oriented silicon steel were coated with alone and blended magnesias and submitted to the high temperature annealing. The magnesias and their blendings were characterized using granulometry measurements, ignition loss and reactivity tests. After high temperature annealing, forsterite film morphology, magnetic properties and Goss deviation were also analyzed. Better magnetic properties and sharper Goss orientation were found in samples which had used blended magnesias. These results are explained by the magnesias particle size distributions, forsterite film formation and rate of inhibitors release.

Purification Processes and Market Potential of Bromelain in Brazil

Bromelain is the denomination given to the group of endoproteases obtained from members of Bromeliacea family. These enzymes have a wide range of proven applications and have been an object of study for worldwide researchers for decades. Over the years, several different downstream processes were studied in order to determine which technique would be worthwhile to be implemented in Brazil and provide the national market with such product. The objective of the present study is to relate the main studies in Brazil that has proven that bromelain purification can be cost-effective, in addition to the well-known benefits owned by such enzymes, and highlight the applications that create their market potential in the Brazilian market.

The Trade Relationship Between Brazil and Algeria in the Import of Oil and Its Derivatives in the Period 2010-2016

The Brazilian choice on the energy matrix,which established as a priority the exploitation of oil and consequently its derivatives for energy generation,had consequences for its foreign trade *** is important to clarify that the choice of the energy matrix involves strategic variables and decisions about investment,consumption,and demand projected for the next 30 years,for ***,this paper intends to analyze the trade balance between Brazil and Algeria(Country of North Africa,with a strong movement of oil and its derivatives),in the period 2010-2016,focusing even on the period in which Brazil began its periods of recession(2015).The research problem is,therefore,“during the period of 2010-2016,what is the situation of the trade balance between Brazil and Algeria?”.Therefore,the hypothesis formulated is that,because it does not have enough to supply Brazilian domestic demand for oil and,consequently,derivatives,Brazil has imported these products from other *** the period analyzed,Brazil did not have a favorable *** reason why Algeria was chosen for analysis and not another country since Brazil has trade relations with more than 70 countries is that the African continent is the main supplier surpassing the percentage of 71%,and Algeria has significant *** methodology used was a bibliographical research,based on the analysis of recent data from the Brazilian trade balance,including in the context of recession,starting in *** results obtained are:(1)The Brazilian energy matrix is diversified,but still shows a majority of non-renewable energies,different from what happens with other emerging countries;(2)it is necessary to revise the demand for oil and its derivatives for the next 30 years,as a matter of urgency;and(3)the investment volume defined by the Brazilian government for the energy matrix is not sufficient for the established demand.
