Background and Purpose -Several prospective studies have shown significant as sociations between plasma fibrinogen, viscosity, C-reactive protein (CRP), fibr in d-dimer, or tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) antigen and the risk of prima ry cardiovascular events. Little has been published on the associations of these variables with recurrent stroke. We studied such associations in a nested case -control study derived from the Perindopril Protection Against Recurrent Stroke Study (PRogRESS). Methods -Nested case-control study of ischemic (n=472) and hemorrhagic (n=83) strokes occurring during a randomized, placebo-controlled mu lticenter trial of perindopril-based therapy in 6105 patients with a history of stroke or transient ischemic attack. Controls were matched for age, treatment g roup, sex, region, and most recent qualifying event at entry to the parent trial . Results -Fibrinogen and CRP were associated with an increased risk of recurre nt ischemic stroke after accounting for the matching variables and adjusting for systolic blood pressure, smoking, peripheral vascular disease, and statin and a ntiplatelet therapy. The odds ratio for the last compared with the first third o f fibrinogen was 1.34 (95%CI, 1.01 to 1.78) and for CRP was 1.39 (95%CI, 1.05 to 1.85). After additional adjustment for each other, these 2 odds ratios stayed virtually unchanged. Plasma viscosity, tPA, and d-dimer showed no relationship with recurrent ischemic stroke, although tPA was significant for lacunar and la rge artery subtypes. Although each of these variables showed a negative relation ship with recurrent hemorrhagic stroke, none of these relationships achieved sta tistical significance. Conclusions -Fibrinogen and CRP are risk predictors for ischemic but not hemorrhagic stroke, independent of potential confounders.

Systemic postnatal corticosteroid use for the prevention of bronchopulmonary dysplasia and its relationship to early neurodevelopment in extremely preterm

Much consideration is rightly given to the design of metadata models to describe *** the other end of the data-delivery spectrum much thought has also been given to the design of geospatial delivery interfaces such as the open geospatial Consortium standards,Web Coverage Service(WCS),Web Map Server and Web Feature Service(WFS).our recent experience with the Climate Science Modelling Language shows that an implementation gap exists where many challenges remain *** bridge this gap requires transposing information and data from one world view of geospatial climate data to *** of the issues include:the loss of information in mapping to a common information model,the need to create‘views’onto file-based storage,and the need to map onto an appropriate delivery interface(as with the choice between WFS and WCS for feature types with coverage-valued properties).Here we summarise the approaches we have taken in facing up to these problems.

In crisis management, cross-sector collaboration exercises are perceived as improving preparedness and develop team-integration efforts. However, studies show that exercises may tend to produce results with limited learning and usefulness. The purpose of this nonexperimental, survey-based study was to measure the difference in perceived exercise effect between participants belonging to the exercise planning organizations and participants belonging to other participating groups. Surveys were distributed and collected from participants in a 2017 chemical oil-spill exercise set off the southern coast of Norway. The target population was operational staff,excluding exercise management and directing staff. The sample population consisted of operatives associated with the exercise organizer organization and others belonging to external public and nongovernmental emergency organizations. The data collection instrument was the 'Collaboration, Learning, and Utility Scale’’(CLU-scale). Findings indicated that the levels of CLU were higher among external participants than among those individuals who belong to the exercise planning organizations. This study recommends the development and adoption of a national maritime collaboration exercise framework. A practical implication is a recommendation to evaluate exercises to secure the outcome regarding collaboration skill using the same instrument.

R-spondin-2 is a Wnt agonist that regulates osteoblast activity and bone mass

The R-spondin family of proteins are Wnt agonists, and the complete embryonic disruption of Rspo2 results in skeletal developmental defects that recapitulate the phenotype observed with Lrp5/6 deficiency. Previous work has shown that R-spondin-2(Rspo2, RSPo2) is both highly expressed in Wnt-stimulated pre-osteoblasts and its overexpression induces osteoblast differentiation in the same cells, supporting its putative role as a positive autocrine regulator of osteoblastogenesis. However, the role of Rspo2 in regulating osteoblastogenesis and bone formation in postnatal bone has not been explored. Here we show that limb-bud progenitor cells from Rspo2 knockout mice undergo reduced mineralization during osteoblastogenesis in vitro and have a corresponding alteration in their osteogenic gene expression profile. We also generated the first Rspo2 conditional knockout(Rspo2 floxed) mouse and disrupted Rspo2 expression in osteoblast-lineage cells by crossing to the osteocalcin-Cre mouse line(ocnCre + Rspo2 ^(f/f)). ocn-Cre + Rspo2 f/fmale and female mice at 1, 3, and 6 months were examined. ocn-Cre + Rspo2 f/fmice are decreased in overall body size compared to their control littermates and have decreased bone mass. Histomorphometric analysis of1-month-old mice revealed a similar number of osteoblasts and mineralizing surface per bone surface with a simultaneous decrease in mineral apposition and bone formation rates. Consistent with this observation, serum osteocalcin in 3-month-old ocn-Cre +Rspo2 f/fwas reduced, and bone marrow-mesenchymal stem cells from ocn-Cre + Rspo2 f/fmice undergo less mineralization in ***, gene expression analysis and immunohistochemistry of mature bone shows reduced beta-catenin signaling in ocn-Cre +Rspo2 f/f. overall, RSPo2 reduces osteoblastogenesis and mineralization, leading to reduced bone mass.

Invasive hybridization and introgression pose a serious threat to the persistence of many native species. Understanding the effects of hybridization on native populations (e.g., fitness consequences) requires numerous species-diagnostic loci distributed genome-wide. Here we used RAd sequencing to discover thousands of single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that are diagnostic between rainbow trout (RBT,oncorhynchus mykiss), the world’s most widely introduced fish, and native westslope cutthroat trout (WCT,o. clarkii lewisi) in the northern Rocky Mountains, USA. We advanced previous work that identified 4,914 species-diagnostic loci by using longer sequence reads (100 bpvs. 60 bp) and a larger set of individuals (n =84). We sequenced RAd libraries for individuals from diverse sampling sources, including native populations of WCT and hatchery broodstocks of WCT and RBT. We also took advantage of a newly released reference genome assembly for RBT to align our RAd loci. In total, we discovered 16,788 putatively diagnostic SNPs, 10,267 of which we mapped to anchored chromosome locations on the RBT genome. A small portion of previously discovered putative diagnostic loci (325 of 4,914) were no longer diagnostic (i.e., fixed between species) based on our wider survey of non-hybridized RBT and WCT individuals. our study suggests that RAd loci mapped to a draft genome assembly could provide the marker density required to identify genes and chromosomal regions influencing selection in admixed populations of conservation concern and evolutionary interest.

金属注射成形(Metal Injection Molding,MIM)微小齿轮由于存在各向异性收缩的成形特性和微小尺寸特征,使得传统的二维小样本和极值检测方法无法体现其三维成形特点。结合MIM微小齿轮的特点,提出MIM微小齿轮光学全齿扫描测量方法。通过将测量点云网格与理论数模进行比对,获得整个微小齿轮的三维偏差;通过在测量点云网格上构建截面,实现对截面上齿廓基本尺寸、齿距偏差和齿厚偏差等的自动测量。试验证明,所提出的光学全齿扫描测量方法可以实现对MIM微小齿轮快速、高精度自动检测,并获得全齿信息,为MIM微小齿轮注射模具的主动设计和制造参数的优化提供必要依据。该测量方法同样适用于注塑齿轮、粉末冶金齿轮、锻造齿轮和金属切削齿轮,有助于推动齿轮制造业向全齿检测的方向发展,提升齿轮制造质量。
