Amorphous 2,4,6-trissubstituted pyridines containing three peripheral carbazole or two triphenylamine and one carbazole moieties, respectively, have been synthesized and characterized. The properties of the compounds are investigated by UV-vis absorption, photoluminescence spectroscopy, thermal analysis as well as cyclic voltammetry. The results show that the compounds have high thermal stability, emit blue light. Also, the compounds possess the HOMO and LUMO energy levels comparable to those of NPB. The effects of different substituents on the electronic properties of the materials have been discussed.

In a one-way analysis-of-variance(ANOVA) model,the number of pairwise comparisons can become large even with a moderate number of *** by this,we consider a regime with a growing number of groups and prove that,when testing pairwise comparisons,the Benjamini-Hochberg(BH) procedure can asymptotically control false discoveries,despite the fact that the involved t-statistics do not exhibit the wellknown positive dependence structure required for exact false discovery rate(FDR) *** Tukey's perspective that the difference between the means of any two groups cannot be exactly zero,our main result provides control over the directional false discovery rate and directional false discovery proportion.A key technical contribution of our work is demonstrating that the dependence among the t-statistics is sufficiently weak to establish the convergence result typically required for asymptotic FDR *** analysis does not rely on conventional assumptions such as normality,variance homogeneity,or a balanced design,thereby offering a theoretical foundation for applications in more general settings.

Objective: A variety of ion channels have been implicated in breast cancer proliferation and *** K+(Kv) channels not only cause repolarization in excitable cells,but are also involved in multiple cellular functions in non-excitable *** this study we investigated the role of Kv channels in migration of BT474 breast cancer ***: Transwell technique was used to separate migratory cells from non-migratory ones and these two groups of cells were subject to electrophysiological examinations and microfluorimetric measurements for cytosolic *** migration was examined in the absence or presence of Kv channel ***: When compared with non-migratory cells,migratory cells had much higher Kv current densities,but rather unexpectedly,more depolarized membrane potential and reduced *** transcriptasepolymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) analysis revealed the presence of Kv1.1,Kv1.3,Kv1.5,Kv2.1,Kv3.3,Kv3.4 and Kv4.3 *** migration was markedly inhibited by tetraethylammonium(TEA),a delayed rectifier Kv channel blocker,but not by 4-aminopyridine,an A-type Kv channel ***: Taken together,our results show that increased Kv channel expression played a role in BT474 cell migration,and Kv channels could be considered as biomarkers or potential therapeutic targets for breast cancer *** mechanism(s) by which Kv channels enhanced migration appeared unrelated to membrane hyperpolarization and Cainflux.

AIM: To detect the contents of four active components of Salvia miltiorrhiza in various commercially available danshen crude drugs and preparations. METHODS: Commercially available danshen crude drugs from different sources, as well as danshen pills and intravenous injection preparations containing danshen alone or in combination with other herbs were collected. The composition of these danshen samples was analyzed using HPLC. Specifically, the amounts of magnesium tanshinoate B (MTB), danshensu, isotanshinone IIA, and ctyptotanshinone were determined. In some of these samples, the content of MTB was further confirmed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometer (LC-MS)/MS method. RESULTS: There were great variations in the amount of the four active ingredients in the commercially available danshen crude drugs and drug preparations in this study. Turbulence in the wake generated by wind flow over buildings or obstacles may produce complex flow patterns in downstream *** include the recirculating flow and wind deficit areas behind an airport terminal building and their potential impacts on the aircraft landing on nearby runways.A computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulation of the wind flow over an airport terminal building was performed in this study of the effect of the building wake on landing *** normal meteorological conditions,the studied airport terminal building causes limited effects on landing aircraft because most of the aircraft have already landed before entering the turbulent wake *** simulating the approach of a tropical cyclone,additional CFD sensitivity tests were performed to study the impacts of building wake under extreme meteorological *** was found that,in a narrow range of prevalent wind directions with wind speeds larger than a certain threshold value,a substantial drop in wind speed(>3.6 m/s) along the glide path of aircraft was observed in the building *** CFD results also showed that under the most critical situation,a drop in wind speed as large as 6.4 m/s occurred right at the touchdown point of landing aircraft on the runway,an effect which may have a significant impact on aircraft *** study indicated that a comprehensive analysis of the potential impacts of building wake on aircraft operations should be carried out for airport terminals and associated buildings in airfields to ensure safe aviation operation under all meteorological conditions and to facilitate implementation of precautionary measures.

Metal contamination in the environment is a global concern due to its high toxicity to living organisms and its worldwide distribution. The principal goal of this review is to examine the current strategies and technologies for the remediation of metal- contaminated soils by metal-accumulating plants and assess the roles of arbnscular mycorrhizal （AM） fungi in remediation of soils under hyperaccumulator or non-accumulator plants. The use of plants to remove metals from the environment or reduce the toxicity, known as phytoremediation, is an environmentally sustainable and low cost remediation technology. The mechanisms of the use of hyperaccumulator plants for phytoremediation included solubilization of the metal in the soil matrix, the plant uptake of the metal, detoxification/chelation and sequestration, and volatilization. Recently, some ecologists have found that phytoremediation with the aids of mycorrhizae can enhance efficiency in the removal of toxic metals. AM fungi can facilitate the survival of their host plants growing on metal-contaminated land by enhancing their nutrient acquisition, protecting them from the metal toxicity, absorbing metals, and also enhancing phytostabilization and phytoextraction. Such information may be useful for developing phytoremediation program at metal-contaminated sites.

Rupture of a cerebral aneurysm （abnormal swelling of blood vessel in the brain） will cause subarachnoid hemorrhage, and will result in an alarming rate of mortality and morbidity. A joint computational-experimental study is conducted to assess the importance of the aspect ratio in the dynamics of blood flow. The aspect ratio is defined here to be the ratio of the height of the aneurysm to the linear dimension of the neck. Idealized models of such aneurysms located near a bifurcation point were investigated. Numerical simulations for hemodynamic properties like shear stress and flow rate were performed. The computational results were verified experimentally with specially fabricated phantoms, blood mimicking fluid and Doppler ultrasound imaging. Excellent agreements were obtained. Two features are highlighted, providing information in the intensely debated link between rupture risk and geometric factors. On increasing the aspect ratios, firstly, a jet impinging on the distal part of the neck can be observed, and secondly, a region of positive shear stress gradient can be found there. Furthermore, computational analyses for four patient-specific models were conducted to correlate with the results of idealized models and to provide further clinical insight.

Knowledge Discovering in Corporate Securities Fraud by Using Grammar Based Genetic Programming

Securities fraud is a common worldwide problem, resulting in serious negative consequences to securities market each year. Securities Regulatory Commission from various countries has also attached great importance to the detection and prevention of securities fraud activities. Securities fraud is also increasing due to the rapid expansion of securities market in China. In accomplishing the task of securities fraud detection, China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) could be facilitated in their work by using a number of data mining techniques. In this paper, we investigate the usefulness of Logistic regression model, Neural Networks (NNs), Sequential minimal optimization (SMO), Radial Basis Function (RBF) networks, Bayesian networks and Grammar Based Genet- ic Programming (GBGP) in the classification of the real, large and latest China Corporate Securities Fraud (CCSF) database. The six data mining techniques are compared in terms of their performances. As a result, we found GBGP outperforms others. This paper describes the GBGP in detail in solving the CCSF problem. In addition, the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) is applied to generate synthetic minority class examples for the imbalanced CCSF dataset.

Objective To investigate the in vivo immunomodulatory and anti-tumor mechanisms of the combined treatment of novel Four-Herb formula(4HF)and doxorubicin in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC).Methods Murine-derived triple-negative mammary carcinoma cell line,4T1 cells,was cultured and inoculated into mouse mammary ***-six mice were randomly assigned into 6 groups(n=11 in ench):naive,control,LD 4HF(low dose 4HF),HD 4HF(high dose 4HF),LD 4HF+D(low dose and doxorubicin),and D(doxorubicin).Apart from the naive group,each mouse received subcutaneous inoculation with 5×10^(5)4T1 cells resuspended in 100µL of normal saline in the mammary fat *** from the day of tumor cell inoculation,tumors were grown for 6 *** LD and HD groups received daily oral gavage of 658 and 2,630 mg/kg 4HF,*** LD 4HF+D group received daily oral gavage of 658 mg/kg 4HF and weekly intraperitoneal injection of doxorubicin(5 mg/kg).The D group received weekly intraperitoneal injections of doxorubicin(5 mg/kg).The treatment naive mice received daily oral gavage of 0.2 mL double distilled water and 0.1 mL normal saline via intraperitoneal injection once a *** control group received daily oral gavage of 0.2 mL double-distilled *** treatment period was 30 *** the end of treatment,mice organs were harvested to analyze immunological activities via immunophenotyping,gene and multiplex analysis,histological staining,and gut microbiota *** Mice treated with the combination of 4HF and doxorubicin resulted in significantly reduced tumor and spleen burdens(Pmanipulated gut microbiota to favor the anti-tumor immunological ***,immunosuppressive genes,cytokines,and chemokines such as C-C motif chemokine 2 and interleukin-10 of tumors were significantly downregulated(P<0.05).4HF-doxorubicin combination treatment demonstrated synergetic activities and was most effective
