The liver has a complex cellular composition and a remarkable regenerative *** primary cell types in the liver are two parenchymal cell populations,hepatocytes and cholangiocytes,that perform most of the functions of the liver and that are helped through interactions with non-parenchymal cell types comprising stellate cells,endothelia and various hemopoietic cell *** regulation of the cells in the liver is mediated by an insoluble complex of proteins and carbohydrates,the extracellular matrix,working synergistically with soluble paracrine and systemic *** recent years,with the rapid development of genetic sequencing technologies,research on the liver’s cellular composition and its regulatory mechanisms during various conditions has been extensively *** breakthroughs in strategies for cell transplantation are enabling a future in which there can be a rescue of patients with end-stage liver diseases,offering potential solutions to the chronic shortage of livers and alternatives to liver *** review will focus on the cellular mechanisms of liver homeostasis and how to select ideal sources of cells to be transplanted to achieve liver regeneration and *** advances are summarized for promoting the treatment of end-stage liver diseases by forms of cell transplantation that now include grafting strategies.

Epidemiology of ovarian cancer:a review

Ovarian cancer(OC) is the seventh most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the world and the tenth most common in China. Epithelial OC is the most predominant pathologic subtype, with five major histotypes that differ in origination,pathogenesis, molecular alterations, risk factors, and prognosis. Genetic susceptibility is manifested by rare inherited mutations with high to moderate penetrance. Genome-wide association studies have additionally identified 29 common susceptibility alleles for OC, including 14 subtype-specific alleles. Several reproductive and hormonal factors may lower risk, including parity, oral contraceptive use, and lactation, while others such as older age at menopause and hormone replacement therapy confer increased risks. These associations differ by histotype, especially for mucinous OC, likely reflecting differences in etiology. Endometrioid and clear cell OC share a similar, unique pattern of associations with increased risks among women with endometriosis and decreased risks associated with tubal ligation. OC risks associated with other gynecological conditions and procedures, such as hysterectomy,pelvic inflammatory disease, and polycystic ovarian syndrome, are less clear. Other possible risk factors include environmental and lifestyle factors such as asbestos and talc powder exposures, and cigarette smoking. The epidemiology provides clues on etiology,primary prevention, early detection, and possibly even therapeutic strategies.

Recent histological and molecular characterization of cholangiocarcinoma(CCA) highlights the heterogeneity of this cancer that may emerge at different sites of the biliary tree and with different macroscopic or morphological ***,different stem cell niches have been recently described in the liver and biliarytree,suggesting this as the basis of the heterogeneity of intrahepatic(IH)-and extrahepatic(EH)-CCAs,which are two largely different tumors from both biological and epidemiological points of *** complexity of the organization of the liver stem cell compartments could underlie the CCA clinical-pathological heterogeneity and the criticisms in classifying primitive liver *** recent advances highlight a possible new classification of CCAs based on cells of origin and this responds to the need of generating homogenous diagnostic,prognostic and,hopefully,therapeutic categories of IH-and EH-CCAs.

The lineaments as one of the precursors of earthquakes: A case study of Tashkent geodynamical polygon in Uzbekistan

This work is to study earthquake precursors using lineament analysis of five mW3 earthquakes that occurred in 2018 on the territory of the Tashkent geodynamic polygon in *** Landsat 8 satellite images were processed using the automated lineament detection method in the LEFA *** processing steps included image preprocessing with graphic filters,edge detection using Canny’s algorithm,the definition of a vector of linear elements based on the probabilistic Hough transform and combining collinear linear elements into *** analysis of the cyclicity of precursors before and after earthquakes was based on the study of the distribution of the lineaments trend in the study area using rose diagrams and lineaments density *** results showed a change in the dynamics of the lineament *** statistical analysis of lineaments revealed that the number and orientation of lineaments changed significantly about 2-4 months before an earthquake,and after 2-3 months,the system gradually returned to its initial *** rapid increase in lineaments density began almost 20 days before the event,reaching a maximum about 4 days before the earthquake,and its decrease began16 days after the *** main trends observed in the lineament map showed dominant trends in NS,EW,and the subdominant directions were in NW-SE,NE-SW,which coincided with main directions of the faults.

Phantom limb pain is a chronic pain syndrome that is difficult to cope *** neurostimulation treatment is indicated for refractory neuropathic pain,there is scant evidence from randomized controlled trials to recommend it as the treatment ***,a systematic review was performed to analyze the efficacy of central nervous system stimulation therapies as a strategy for pain management in patients with phantom limb pain.A literature search for studies conducted between 1970 and September 2020 was carried out using the mEDLINE and Embase *** of The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and meta-Analyses guideline were *** were a total of 10 full-text articles retrieved and included in this *** brain stimulation,repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation,transcranial direct current stimulation,and motor cortex stimulation were the treatment strategies used in the selected clinical *** transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial direct current stimulation were effective therapies to reduce pain perception,as well as to relieve anxiety and depression symptoms in phantom limb pain ***,invasive approaches were considered the last treatment option as evidence in deep brain stimulation and motor cortex stimulation suggests that the value of phantom limb pain treatment remains ***,the findings on use of these treatment strategies in other forms of neuropathic pain suggest that these invasive approaches could be a potential option for phantom limb pain patients.

Wholly defined ex vivo expansion conditions for biliary tree stem cell(BTSC)organoids were established,consisting of a defined proliferative medium(DPm)used in combination with soft hyaluronan *** DPm consisted of commercially available Kubota's medium(Km),to which a set of small molecules,particular paracrine signals,and heparan sulfate(HS)were *** small molecules used were DNA methyltransferase inhibitor(RG108),TGF-βType I receptor inhibitor(A83-01),adenylate cyclase activator(Forskolin),and L-type Ca2+channel agonist(Bay K8644).A key paracrine signal proved to be R-spondin 1(RSPO1),a secreted protein that activates *** hyaluronans,0.05%sodium hyaluronate,were used with DPm to expand monolayer *** of organoids was achieved by using DPm in combination with embedding organoids in matrigel that was replaced with a defined thiol-hyaluronan triggered with PEGDA to form a hydrogel with a rheology[G*]of less than 100 *** combination is called the BTSC-Expansion-Glycogel-System(BEX-gel system)for expanding BTSCs as a monolayer or as *** BTSC organoids were expanded more than 3000-fold ex vivo in the BEX-gel system within 70 days while maintaining phenotypic traits indicative of stem/***-cell-patch grafting of expanded BTSC organoids was performed on the livers of Fah-/-mice with tyrosinemia and resulted in the rescue of the mice and restoration of their normal liver *** BEX-gel system for BTSC organoid expansion provides a strategy to generate sufficient numbers of organoids for the therapeutic treatments of liver diseases.

The role of surfactant protein A(SP-A)in the recognition and clearance of apoptotic cells is well established,but to date,it is still not clear which surface molecules of apoptotic cells are involved in the *** we present evidence that phosphatidylserine(PS)is a relevant binding molecule for human *** binding is Ca^(2+)-dependent and is not inhibited by mannose,suggesting that the sugar-binding site of the carbohydrate recognition domain(CRD)of SP-A is not *** cytometry studies on apoptotic Jurkat cells revealed apparent inhibition of annexin V binding by increasing concentrations of SP-A in late apoptotic but not early apoptotic cells,and this was consistent for Jurkat cells and *** these data,confocal microscopy results show a co-localisation of annexin V and SP-A in late apoptotic but not early apoptotic ***,we cannot conclude that this inhibition is exclusively due to the binding of SP-A to PS on the cell surface,as annexin V is not wholly specific for PS and SP-A also interacts with other phospholipids that might become exposed on the apoptotic cell surface.
