The prevalence of obesity has increased and is a health concern *** to the concerns regarding synthetic anti-obesity treatments,nowadays natural products become a *** studies proved that there is a potential to use marine algae as anti-obesity ***,in this study,the lipid inhibitory effect of crude polysaccharide of amyloglucosidase-assisted hydrolysate from Sargassum thunbergii(STAc)and its fucoidan fractions(STAFs)on 3T3-L1 cells and high-fat diet(HFd)-induced obese mice were *** to the results,the STAF3,showed the highest xylose content and exhibited significant inhibitory effects on lipid accumulation by downregulating adipogenic and lipogenic proteins in 3T3-L1 ***,oral supplementation with STAc significantly declined gain in body weight and fat weight,and serum lipid contents in an HFd-induced obesity mouse *** and chemical characterizations demonstrated that puritied STAF3 has consistent surface morphology and small particle size,with similar structural characteristics as commercial ***,these results indicate that STAc and purified STAF3 from Sargassum thunbergia is a potent source to develop as ananti-obesity agents or functional food products to counter obesity.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) expands its recognition rapidly through the past few years in the context of generating content dynamically, remarkably challenging the human creativity. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of AI in enhancing personal branding for musicians, particularly in crafting brand images based on emotions received from the artist’s music will improve the audience perceptions regarding the artist’s brand. Study used a quantitative approach for the research, gathering primary data from the survey of 191 people—music lovers, musicians and music producers. The survey focuses on preferences, perceptions, and behaviours related to music consumption and artist branding. The study results demonstrate the awareness and understanding of AI’s role in personal branding within the music industry. Also, results indicate that such an adaptive approach enhances audience perceptions of the artist and strengthens emotional connections. Furthermore, over 50% of the participants indicated a desire to attend live events where an artist’s brand image adapts dynamically to their emotions. The study focuses on novel approaches in personal branding based on the interaction of AI-driven emotional data. In contrast to traditional branding concepts, this study indicates that AI can suggest dynamic and emotionally resonant brand identities for artists. The real time audience response gives proper guidance for the decision-making. This study enriches the knowledge of AI’s applicability to branding processes in the context of the music industry and opens the possibilities for additional advancements in building emotionally appealing brand identities.

Plant maintenance has been a discipline that has gradually evolved with the industrial revolution. For quite some time, it has been a ＂necessary evil＂ in production, manufacturing, and process settings. The changing business needs and industrial conditions have had various impacts on the maintenance process, particularly over the last few years. While some industries have inherent difficulties seeing what maintenance is all about, others have begun to add more flavor to the organizational maintenance practices. This article brings an overview of developments within the offshore oil and gas production sector.

Molecular characterization of cyanobacterial diversity in Lake Gregory, Sri Lanka

Eutrophication or the process of nutrient enrichment of stagnant waters due to excessive use of fertilizer is becoming a critical issue worldwide. Lake Gregory, an artificial lake situated in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka was once a very attractive landscape feature and recreational area attracting a large number of visitors. Rapid urbanization in surrounding areas and the consequent intensification of agricultural and industrial activities led to eutrophication and siltation in the lake. Present study was conducted to detect cyanobacterial diversity and their ability to produce hepatotoxic microcystins using polymerase chain reaction (PcR)-based techniques. Twenty five water samples (surface and bottom) were collected from the lake and total nitrogen and total carbon were estimated. cyanobacterial cultures were grown in appropriate media and microscopic observations were used to determine the morphological diversity of cyanobacteria isolated from different sites. Genomic dNA was isolated and purified from cyanobacteria using Boom's method. dNA samples were analyzed by PcR with oligonucleotide primers for 16S rRNA gene and mcyA gene of the operon that encodes a microcystin synthetase. The 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed the presences of cyanobacteria belong to Synechococcus sp., Microcystis aeruginosa, calothrix sp., Leptolyngbya sp., Limnothrix sp., order Oscillatoriales and order chroococcales. The sequences obtained from this study were deposited in the database under the accession numbers (GenBank: GU368104-GU368116). PcR amplification of mcyA primers indicated the potential for toxin formation of isolated M. aeruginosa from Lake Gregory. This preliminary study shows that the Lake Gregory is under the potential risk of cyanobacterial toxicity. clearly more work is needed to extend this finding and clarify if other cyanobacterial isolates have genetic potential to produce microcystin since this lake is utilized for recreational activities.

Identification of bird species from their sounds has become an important area in biodiversity-related research due to the relative ease of capturing bird sounds in the commonly challenging habitat. Audio features have a massive impact on the classification task since they are the fundamental elements used to differentiate classes. As such, the extraction of informative properties of the data is a crucial stage of any classification-based application. Therefore, it is vital to identify the most significant feature to represent the actual bird sounds. In this paper, we propose a novel feature that can advance classification accuracy with modified features, which are most suitable for classifying birds from its audio sounds. Modified Gammatone frequency cepstral coefficient(GTcc) features have been extracted with their frequency banks adjusted to suit bird sounds. The features are then used to train and test a support vector machine(SVM) classifier. It has been shown that the modified GTcc features are able to give 86% accuracy with twenty Bornean birds. Furthermore, in this paper, we are proposing a novel probability enhanced entropy(PEE) feature, which, when combined with the modified GTcc features, is able to improve accuracy further to 89.5%. These results are significant as the relatively low-resource intensive SVM with the proposed modified GTcc, and the proposed novel PEE feature can be implemented in a real-time system to assist researchers,scientists, conservationists, and even eco-tourists in identifying bird species in the dense forest.

Objective:To assess public knowledge,practices and perceptions on typhus fevers in Sri ***:A descriptive study was done in four selected typhus-prone areas in Southern Sri Lanka.A mixed-method was employed using face-to-face interviews and questionnaire-based surveys among confirmed cases of typhus and at-risk populations,***,percentages,and means were used to characterize socio-demography and evaluate disease ***:The lay terms for typhus fevers reported in the studied region were“peacock fever”,“tick fever”and“bird fever”.A total of 499 subjects participated[mean±Sd,(45±16)years]in the questionnaire-based survey,and 13.6%(n=68)reported past experience of typhus fever,1.2%(n=6)identified the disease as“typhus”while 58.7%(n=293)and 11.8%(n=59)knew it as‘peacock fever’and‘tick fever’,*** etiological agent was unknown to 95.2%(n=475),but 53.5%(n=267)were aware that it was ***(57.3%,n=286),eschar(35.7%,n=178),headache(22.0%,n=267)and myalgia(19.2%,n=96)were identified as key *** disease experience was significantly associated with higher awareness of the main disease symptoms(fever:χ^(2)=15.713,Pdache:χ^(2)=19.447,Pdenopathy:Fisher’s exact test,P=0.023;eschar:χ^(2)=12.049,Pdisease prevention *** with a past history of typhus fever had sought treatment at state hospitals(55.9%,38/68)and private sector hospitals(5.9%,4/68).conclusions:Public awareness on preventive practices for typhus fevers was rare among the participants though vector-borne aspect was known to *** disease awareness was deficient among those without past experience of typhus *** sensitization on vector avoidance strategies is highly recommended.

BAcKGROUNd： Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease （NAFLd） is becoming a leading cause of chronic liver disease. Hepato- cellular carcinoma （Hcc） is one of its complications. Although the pathophysiology is unclear, it is reasonable to expect that cryptogenic cirrhosis related Hcc （cryptogenic Hcc） behaves differently to other types of Hcc. This study prospectively compared patients with cryptogenic Hcc and those with Hcc related to alcoholic cirrhosis. METHOdS： A total of 150 consecutive patients with Hcc （89 cryptogenic Hcc and 61 alcohol related Hcc） referred to our unit over a 23-month period were studied. Their demographic data, liver function, tumor characteristics and outcomes were compared. RESULTS： Alcohol related Hcc was seen only in males. com- pared with cryptogenic Hcc, alcohol related Hcc had signifi- cantly higher aspartate aminotransferase/alanine aminotrans- ferase （AST/ALT） ratio （1.7 vs 1.4, P=0.002）, model for end- stage liver disease score （13 vs 11, P=0.018） and child＇s score （7 vs 6, P=0.037）. No significant difference was seen in platelet counts, serum sodium and AST to platelet ratio index. Single nodular tumors were more common in cryptogenic Hcc, while diffuse type tumors and macroscopic vascular invasion were common in alcohol related Hcc. In patients who could not be offered any treatment because of advanced tumors or poor liver function, alcohol related Hcc had a significantly lower median survival （5.3 months） compared with crypto- genic Hcc （9.3 months, P=0.034）.cONcLUSIONS： compared wtih cryptogenic Hcc, alcohol related Hcc had worse liver function and aggressive tumor morphology at presentation, and a higher proportion was untreatable. In patients who could not be treated, median sur- vival was lower in patients with alcohol related Hcc than in those with cryptogenic Hcc.
