Effect of Ta2O5 nanoparticles on bioactiv.ty, com.osition, structure, in v.tro and in v.v. behav.or of PEO coatings on m.-alloy

The present study inv.stigates the physical and chem.cal characteristics, behav.or in v.tro and in v.v. , and biocom.atibility of coatings containing Ta2 O5 , which are obtained by plasm. electrolytic oxidation (PEO) on m.8 m.gnesium.alloy. The obtained coatings dem.nstrate in v.v. biocom.atibility and in v.tro bioactiv.ty. Com.ared to the base PEO coating, the layers containing Ta2 O5 facilitate the dev.lopm.nt of apatite in sim.lated body fluid, suggesting that the inclusion of nanoparticles im.rov.s bioactiv.ty of the coatings. It was found that incorporation of Ta2 O5 nanoparticles increases roughness and porosity of the form.d layers by increasing particle concentration in electrolytes for the PEO process contributing to sufficient soft tissue ingrowth in v.v. . Based on in v.v. studies, these coatings also prov.de fav.rable tissue response and m.nim.l inflam.atory reaction in com.arison with the bare m.gnesium.alloy due to protection of liv.ng tissues from.deleterious corrosion ev.nts of m.gnesium.im.lant such as local alkalization and intense hydrogen ev.lution. The results obtained in the present study concluded biocom.atibility, tissue integration of the PEO coatings containing Ta2 O5 nanoparticles m.king them.a prom.sing protectiv. layer for biodegradable m.gnesium.im.lants. São Paulo State has witnessed CO_(2)storage-based inv.stigations considering the av.ilability of suitable geologic structures and proxim.ty to prim.ry CO_(2)source sinks related to bioenergy and carbon capture and storage(BECCS)*** current study presents the hydrocarbon v.ability ev.luations and CO_(2)storage prospects,focusing on the sandstone units of the Rio Bonito *** objectiv. is to apply petrophysical ev.luations with geochem.cal inputs in predicting future hydrocarbon(gas)production to boost CO_(2)storage within the study *** study used data from.elev.n wells with associated wireline logs(gam.a ray,resistiv.ty,density,neutron,and sonic)to predict potential hydrocarbon accum.lation and fluid m.bility in the inv.stigated *** sam.les(shale and carbonate)obtained from.depths>200 m.within the study location hav. shown bitum.n *** geochem.stry data of the Rio Bonito Form.tion shale beds suggest they are potential hydrocarbon source rocks and could hav. contributed to the gas accum.lations within the sandstone *** drilled well data,e.g.,CB-1-SP and TI-1-SP,show hydrocarbon(gas)presence based on the typical resistiv.ty and the com.ined neutron-density responses at depths up to 3400 m.indicating the possibility of other hydrocarbon m.m.ers apart from.the heav. oil(bitum.n)observ.d from.the near-surface rocks *** the three-dim.nsional(3-D)m.del,the free fluid indicator(FFI)is m.re significant towards the southwest and southeast of the area with deeper depths of occurrence,indicating portions with reasonable hydrocarbon recov.ry rates and good prospects for CO_(2)injection,circulation and perm.nent ***,future studies based on contem.orary datasets are required to establish the hydrocarbon v.ability further,foster gas production ev.nts,and enhance CO_(2)storage possibilities within the region.

The aorto-v.ntricular tunnel is a rare congenital cardiac anom.ly. We present a case of aorto-v.ntricular tunnel diagnosed v.a fetal echocardiography. Em.rgency surgery was perform.d on the 2nd day of life to close the tunnel, located just in front of the right coronary ostium. due to the patient’s unstable health condition. The postoperativ. period rev.aled com.lete occlusion of the right coronary artery. Due to the patient’s stability, we opted not to reinterv.ne on the right coronary artery. The patient fully recov.red without the need for further coronary interv.ntion. In cases of patients with an aorto-v.ntricular tunnel (Av.) and associated coronary lesions, it is crucial to exercise caution when interv.ning in the coronary arteries. © 2024, Tech Science Press. Tensile deform.tion of fine-grained m. at 4K, 78K and 298K

The im.act of grain size, ranging from.0.9 m. m.to 9 m. m. on the m.chanical properties of com.ercially pure m. is inv.stigated at tem.eratures of 4K, 78K, and 298K. The m.chanism. gov.rning plastic flow are influenced by both grain size and tem.erature. At 4K and 78K, dom.nant deform.tion m.des in m. inv.lv. dislocation glide and extension twinning, regardless of grain size. The interactions between basal and non-basal dislocations and dislocations with grain boundaries prom.te an unusually high rate of work hardening in the center dot/ plastic regim., leading to prem.ture failure. The yield stress follows the Hall-Petch relationship sigm. y k / d , with the slope k increasing with decreasing tem.erature. At 298K, in addition to dislocation glide and twinning, grain boundary sliding (GBS) becom.s significant in sam.les with grain sizes below 3 m. m. considerably enhancing the m.terial's deform.bility. GBS activ.tion prov.des an additional recov.ry m.chanism.for dislocations accum.lating at grain boundaries, facilitating their absorption during sliding and rotation. Analysis of sigm. Theta relationship suggests that the basal slip is the dom.nant dislocation m.de in m. at 298K. Decreasing grain size suppresses dislocation activ.ty and twinning and increases GBS, resulting in lower Theta and sigm. Theta v.lues. Suppressing conv.ntional deform.tion m.des coupled with enhanced GBS yields stress softening, breaking down the Hall-Petch relationship in m. below 3 m. m.grain size, leading to an inv.rse Hall-Petch behav.our. In this study,a calcium.phosphate coating was form.d on a m.-m.-Ce alloy by the plasm. electrolytic oxidation(PEO).The antibiotic v.ncom.cin,widely used in the treatm.nt of infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus(***),was im.regnated into the *** with v.ncom.cin showed high bactericidal activ.ty against *** m.chanical and electrochem.cal properties of the form.d coatings were studied,as well as in v.tro cytotoxicity tests and in v.v. tests on m.ture m.le rats were *** to SEm.EDS,XRD and XPS data,coatings had a dev.loped m.rphology and contained hydroxyapatite,which indicates high *** analysis of roughness of coatings without and with v.ncom.cin did not rev.al any differences,confirm.ng the high roughness of the *** electrochem.cal tests,an increase in corrosion resistance by m.re than two tim.s after the application of PEO coatings was *** to the results of an in v.v. study,after 28 days of the im.lantation of sam.les with calcium.phosphate PEO coating and v.ncom.cin,no signs of inflam.ation were observ.d,while an inflam.atory reaction dev.loped in the area of im.lantation of bare alloy,followed by *** release tests from.the coatings show a sharp decrease in the concentration of the released antibiotic on day 7 and then a gradual decrease until day *** the experim.nt,no significant dev.ations in the condition and behav.or of the anim.ls were observ.d;clinical tests did not rev.al a system.c toxic reaction.

Background The cryptic nature of pink bollworm.Pectinophora gossypiella(Saunders)larv.e enables its reduced v.l-nerability to insecticidal ***,the dev.lopm.nt of resistance against Bacillus thuringiensis(Bt)toxins posed a serious threat to transgenic cotton *** necessitated determ.ning the critical tim.ng of spray applications on the control *** study assessed the influence of egg age(freshly laid ***-day-old)and the loca-tion of larv.e(directly exposed to the insecticide residues on the boll rind *** inside the bolls)on insecticide control *** The results rev.aled a significant decrease in the ov.cidal activ.ty of tested insecticides with an increase in the age of eggs from.one day old to three days old(paired t-test,Pv.e directly exposed to the insec-ticide residues on the boll rind were m.re susceptible(>80%m.rtality)than the larv.e exposed after they had bur-rowed inside the bolls(m.rtality).The inhibitory effects of tested insecticides on dev.lopm.ntal biology were m.re pronounced in the experim.nt on pre-larv.l release insecticide treatm.nt com.ared with insecticide treatm.nt giv.n post-larv.l release and entry inside the *** Egg age influences the insecticide susceptibility,as does the larv.l location,directly exposed v. bur-rowed inside the *** eggs and the larv.e that had burrowed inside the green bolls of cotton were relativ.ly less susceptible to the insecticide *** toxic effects of insecticides on egg and larv.l stages were prim.r-ily *** findings are significant for dev.sing a com.rehensiv. strategy for pink bollworm.m.nagem.nt on a sustainable basis.

Utilizing low-alloyed m.-Zn wires can strongly reduce problem. with large H 2 bubbles and im.rov. the m.chanical properties considerably while m.intaining excellent long-term.biocom.atibility. Acidic pickling and a polym.r coating can be effectiv.ly used to lower the rate of in v.v. degradation. In this work, m.crostructural, m.chanical, and in v.tro characterization of 250 m. m.and 300 m. m.extruded wires m.de from.ultra-pure m., com.ercially pure m., m.-0.15Zn, m.-0.4Zn and m.-1Zn was perform.d. Additionally, m.-0.4Zn wires together with a v.riant coated with a copolym.r of L-lactide and epsilon-caprolactone were tested in v.v. on artificially dam.ged Wistar rat fem.rs. Based on the observ.d m.-induced osteogenesis, polym.r-coated m. wires with a sm.ll addition of Zn are a perspectiv. m.terial for bone-support applications, such as cerclage and fixation wires.
