Nerve growth factor promotes in vitro proliferation of neural stem cells from tree shrews

Neural stem cells promote neuronal regeneration and repair of brain tissue after injury,but have limited resources and proliferative ability in *** hypothesized that nerve growth factor would promote in vitro proliferation of neural stem cells derived from the tree shrews,a primate-like mammal that has been proposed as an alternative to primates in biomedical translational *** cultured neural stem cells from the hippocampus of tree shrews at embryonic day 38,and added nerve growth factor（100 μg/L） to the culture *** stem cells from the hippocampus of tree shrews cultured without nerve growth factor were used as *** 3 days,fluorescence microscopy after DAPI and nestin staining revealed that the number of neurospheres and DAPI/nestin-positive cells was markedly greater in the nerve growth factor-treated cells than in control *** findings demonstrate that nerve growth factor promotes the proliferation of neural stem cells derived from tree shrews.

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF) regulates many neurological functions and plays a vital role during the recovery from central nervous system injuries. However, the changes in BDNF expression and associated factors following hypoxia-ischemia induced neonatal brain damage, and the significance of these changes are not fully understood. In the present study, a rat model of hypoxic-ischemic brain damage was established through the occlusion of the right common carotid artery, followed by 2 hours in a hypoxic-ischemic environment. Rats with hypoxic-ischemic brain damage presented deficits in both sensory and motor functions, and obvious pathological changes could be detected in brain tissues. The m RNA expression levels of BDNF and its processing enzymes and receptors(Furin, matrix metallopeptidase 9, tissuetype plasminogen activator, tyrosine Kinase receptor B, plasminogen activator inhibitor-1, and Sortilin) were upregulated in the ipsilateral hippocampus and cerebral cortex 6 hours after injury;however, the expression levels of these m RNAs were found to be downregulated in the contralateral hippocampus and cerebral cortex. These findings suggest that BDNF and its processing enzymes and receptors may play important roles in the pathogenesis and recovery from neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain damage. This study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of the University of South Australia(approval No. U12-18) on July 30, 2018.

Fracture is the primary failure type for the UO2ceramic pellets,which are operated under irradiation and thermal processes,and physically confined by the *** this work,by combining closely coupled physical processes of heat conduction,heat transfer,and mechanical deformation with the cohesive phase field framework,we proposed a high-precision modeling of quasistatic cracking of three-dimensional （3D） UO2ceramic fuel pellets under high temperature and *** simulation results agree well with the experimental results,indicating that the proposed method has the potential to capture 3D crack modes in the interested time ***,we studied the relation of the 3D fracture patterns of fuel pellets with the peak power *** was found that the power level plays a critical role in determining the competition between radial and circumferential cracks,as well as transverse penetrating cracks.

针对砂质浅滩抛石丁坝容易发生沉降塌陷的问题,通过对西江龙圩水道与鸡笼洲滩抛石丁坝进行原形观测,对影响丁坝结构稳定性的因素进行研究,采用泥沙运动理论对原形测试进行分析,得出丁坝基础受到冲刷破坏是引起坝体失稳的主要因素的结论,利用袋装砂护底和碎石或石碴做丁坝基础填料可增强丁坝基础防冲刷能力。这一结论可为砂质浅滩航道整治抛石丁坝施工提供技术借鉴。

随访糖尿病视网膜病变 (DR)单纯型、、期 85例 145眼。单纯型进展为增殖型糖尿病视网膜病变 (PDR) 期者 ,随访 2年为 2 1眼 (14% ) ,5年为 49眼 (34% ) ; 、、进展至期的发生率 , 期 > 期 , 期 > 期 ,差别有显著性 (P<0 .0 5 )。糖尿病黄斑水肿随访年限增长而增加 ,初诊黄斑水肿 35眼 ,2年内增至 43眼 ,5年内增至 5 5眼。视网膜静脉串珠状改变 ,视网膜内大量微血管异常和四个象限内存在出血和 /或微血管瘤是单纯型进展至 PDR的危险性病变。血糖控制不良 ,糖尿病病程长和高血压可能是单纯型进展至 PDR的危险性因素。为预防或减少 DR致盲 ,应早期发现 DR。
