Oriented growth and assembly of zeolite crystals on substrates

The aligned array and thin film of zeolites and molecular sieves possess a variety of potential applica- tions in membrane separation and catalysis, chemical sensors, and microelectronic devices. There are two main synthesis methods for manufacturing the aligned arrays and thin films of zeolites and mo- lecular sieves, i.e. in situ hydrothermal reaction and self-assembly of crystal grains on substrates. Both of them have attracted much attention in the scientific community worldwide. A series of significant progress has been made in recent years. By the in situ hydrothermal synthesis, the oriented nucleation and growth of zeolite and molecular sieve crystals can be achieved by modifying the surface properties of substrates or by changing the composition of synthesis solutions, leading to the formation of uni- formly oriented multicrystal-aligned arrays or thin films. On the other hand, the crystal grains of zeo- lites and molecular sieves can be assembled onto the substrate surface in required orientation using different bondages, for instance, the microstructure in the array or thin film can be controlled. This review is going to summarize and comment the significant results and progress reported recently in manufacturing highly covered and uniformly aligned arrays or thin films of zeolites and molecular sieves. It involves (1) in situ growth of highly aligned zeolite arrays and thin films via embedding func- tional groups on the substrate surface, modifying the surface microstructure of substrates, as well as varying the composition of synthesis solutions; (2) assembly of zeolite and molecular sieve crystals on various substrates to form aligned arrays and thin films with full coverage by covalent, ionic, and in- termolecular coupling interactions between crystals and substrates; (3) coupling surface assembly with microcontact printing or photoetching technique to produce patterned zeolite arrays and thin films. SiO2 microspheres were prepared via a novel co-precipitation *** Na + ions were introduced by adding sodium chloride and metal sodium in solution systems for improving surface charge of the SiO2 *** then SiO2 photonic crystals were fabricated by the vertical deposition *** electrical properties,micromorphology and optical properties were characterized by zeta potential instrument,scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and Uv-Vis-Nir *** potential of the SiO2 microspheres modified by sodium chloride and metal sodium were averagely heightened 11.39 mV and 13.52 mV respectively in ethanol *** spectra showed that there was Na element in the SiO2 *** images showed that the average size of the SiO2 microspheres modified by sodium chloride and metal sodium were 380 nm and 354 nm respectively,larger than that of the unmodified ones,and their distribution standard deviation was less than 5%,and the sample of SiO2 photonic crystals was face-centered cubic structure with their (111) planes parallel to the *** addition,absorption spectra showed that photonic band gap of the SiO2 photonic crystals was modified by sodium chloride and metal sodium located in 856 nm and 798 nm ***,their absorption peaks became narrower and higher and exhibited a red-shift phenomenon.

Pure CoAPO-36 crystal grains were synthesized by hydrothermal reaction. Porous α-Al2O3, stainless steel and K2Ti6O13 supported CoAPO-36 films were fabricated using in situ crystallization for the first time. SEM images and XRD measurements demonstrate that a continuous CoAPO-36 film was obtained on the K2Ti6O13 substrate. Diffuse reflectance UV-Vis spectra indicate that Co2+ has been incorporated into the ATS framework. Both CoAPO-36 crystal grains and the K2Ti6O13 supported CoAPO-36 film exhibit satisfactory catalytic activities for the oxidation of cyclohexane.

The acid-base titration,atomic force microscopy(AFM),contact angle technique,energy dispersive X-ray(EDX)and electron probe microanalysis(EPMA)were performed to check the existence of the gel-layer on the chitosan surface after it was dipped in aqueous TPAOH solution as well as in TS-1 synthesis *** evolution of TS-1 monolayer and multi-layered film on the chitosan surface was studied using SEM imaging at different stages during hydrothermal *** evidence for the formation mechanism of supported zeolite films and membranes revealed that a gel-layer enriched with TPA cations and TS-1 precursors was first formed on the chitosan surface,followed by the nucleation within the gel-layer especially on the chitosan *** nuclei formed on the chitosan surface were further transformed into crystalline particles and TS-1 crystal *** nuclei beyond the chitosan surface subsequently grew up,leading to the formation of multi-layered TS-1 film with preferential *** result is significant for engineering the microstructure of supported zeolite films and membranes in hydrothermal reactions.

Pollution from heavy metals(HMs)(Cd,As,Cr,and Ni,etc.)has become a serious environmental issue in urban wetland ecosystems with more and more *** studies conducted in agricultural soils,rivers,and lakes demonstrated that microbial communities exhibit a response to HM ***,little is known about the response of microbial communities to HM pollution in urban wetland *** examined how heavy metals affect the stability of the microbial networks in the sediments of Sanyang wetland,Wenzhou,*** environmental parameters,including HMs,TC(total carbon),TN(total nitrogen),TP(total phosphorus),S,and pH,varied profoundly between moderately and heavily polluted areas in shaping microbial ***,the microbial community composition in moderately polluted sites correlated significantly(P<0.05)with Ni,Cu,Cd and TP,whereas in heavily polluted sites,they correlated significantly with Cd,TN,TP,and *** show that the heavily polluted sites demonstrated more intricate and more stable microbial networks than those of the moderately polluted *** heavily polluted sites exhibited higher values for various network parameters including total nodes,total links,average degree,average clustering coefficient,connectance,relative modularity,robustness,and ***,the structural equation modeling analysis demonstrated a positive correlation between the stability of microbial networks and Cd,TN,TP,and S in heavily polluted ***,in moderately polluted sites,the correlation was positively linked to Cd,Ni,and sediment *** implies that Cd could potentially play a crucial role in affecting the stability of microbial *** study shall enhance our comprehension of microbial co-occurrence patterns in urban wetland ecosystems and offer insights into the ways in which microbial communities respond to environmental factors in varying levels of HM pollution.

Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)persists as a dominant cause of cancer-related mortality globally,with a notably rapid escalation in mortality *** advent of immunotherapy,particularly immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs),has ushered in a new era in the management of liver cancer,albeit with unresolved challenges in the context of treatment beyond progression(TBP)and stratified prognosis in diverse *** study aimed to develop and validate a novel nomogram model to identify factors that predict the benefit of continued immunotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma patients following disease progression in clinical ***:This study retrospectively analyzed the efficacy of ICIs in TBP,focusing on the Chinese population with advanced liver cancer.A nomogram was constructed based on four independent risk factors identified through Cox multivariate analysis,aiming to predict patient prognosis post-ICI *** model was validated through receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis and categorized patients into high-,intermediate-,and low-risk groups,with further validation using calibration plots and decision curve analysis(DCA).Results:The low-risk group demonstrated significantly enhanced overall survival(OS)compared to the high-risk group,with the nomogram predictions aligning closely with actual outcomes for 6-and 9-month *** model exhibited commendable predictive accuracy,achieving a C-index exceeding 0.7 in both training and validation *** DCA underscored the clinical utility of the nomogram-based prognostic model,further substantiated by the area under the ROC curve(AUC).Conclusions:The developed nomogram presents a potentially valuable tool for predicting the prognosis of HCC patients undergoing ICI therapy beyond progression,particularly within the Chinese ***,the study is constrained by its retrospective,single-center nature and necessitates further validation through large-scale,multicente
