Efficacy evaluation of zirconia crown on prim.ry m.lars with caries defects

Objective This study aim.d to estim.te the therapeutic effects of preform.d m.tal crown (Pm.) and prefabricated zirconia crowns (ZC) on decayed prim.ry m.rals in children, as well as to analyze the possible influencing factors. m.thods A retrospective cohort study was perform.d on the data of 192 patients (aged 3 to 8) in the Stom.tological Departm.nt of Shenzhen Children’s Hospital from.October 2021 to Decem.er 2021. The decayed m.ndibular first m.lars were selected and restored by vital-pulp therapy followed by Pm. and ZC, including 96 cases (96 caries) in the Pm. group and 96 cases (96 caries) in the ZC group. Oral clinical exam.nation was perform.d at 3 m.nths, 1 year, and 2 years after treatm.nt, overwiewing the clinical therapeutic effects and periodontal status of Pm. and ZC groups, as well as recording the crown integrity, gingival index (GI), probing bleeding index (BI), plaque index (PLI) and various prosthetic indices. Results No significance differences existed in the periodontal status of Pm. and ZC groups at 3 m.nths, 1 year, and 2 years after treatm.nt (P>0.05). However, the GI, BI, and PLI in the Pm. group were higher than those in the ZC group at 3 m.nths, 1 year, and 2 years after treatm.nt, and the difference was dram.tically significant (P0.05), as well as in the GI, BI, and PLI, between the two groups (P>0.05). No significant differences existed in various prosthetic indices between genders after Pm. restoration (P>0.05). The scores of girls in various prosthetic indices after ZC restoration were higher than those of boys (Pm. group and the GI, BI, PLI, and FDI indices (P0.05). Conclusion Pm. and ZC can be applied to restore deciduous m.lar caries. The periodontal status of deciduous teeth in ZC group was superior to that in the Pm. group. The

DSC study on tem.erature m.m.ry effect of NiTi shape m.m.ry alloy

A system.tic study on the tem.erature m.m.ry effect (Tm.) in a polycrystalline NiTi shape m.m.ry alloy was presented. The investigation was carried out through a series of differential scanning calorim.ter (DSC) tests. Two types of tests were conducted, nam.ly single-step test and m.lti-step test. The influence of the step tem.erature on the peak/trough tem.eratures in the subsequent heating process and the associated energy absorption/release in the phase transform.tions was investigated. Using a sim.le theoretical m.del, the exact m.chanism.behind Tm. was studied.

Interfacial stress engineering toward enhancem.nt of ferroelectricity in Al doped HfO2 thin film.

Ferroelectric HfO2 has attracted m.ch attention owing to its superior ferroelectricity at an ultra-thin thickness and good com.atibility with Si-based com.lem.ntary m.tal-oxide-sem.conductor (Cm.S) technology. However, the crystallization of polar orthorhom.ic phase (o-phase) HfO2 is less com.etitive, which greatly lim.ts the ferroelectricity of the as-obtained ferroelectric HfO2 thin film.. Fortunately, the crystallization of o-phase HfO2 can be therm.dynam.cally m.dulated via interfacial stress engineering. In this paper, the growth of im.roved ferroelectric Al doped HfO2 (HfO2:Al) thin film. on (111)-oriented Si substrate has been reported. Structural analysis has suggested that nonpolar m.noclinic HfO2:Al grown on (111)-oriented Si substrate suffered from.a strong com.ressive strain, which prom.ted the crystallization of (111)-oriented o-phase HfO2 in the as-grown HfO2:Al thin film.. In addition, the in-plane lattice of (111)-oriented Si substrate m.tches well with that of (111)-oriented o-phase HfO2, which further therm.lly stabilizes the o-phase HfO2. Accordingly, an im.roved ferroelectricity with a rem.ant polarization (2P(r)) of 26.7 m. C/cm.2) has been obtained. The results shown in this work provide a sim.le way toward the preparation of im.roved ferroelectric HfO2 thin film..

Resistless photochem.cal etching of a silicon wafer by UV laser with an H_2O_2 and HF aqueous solution

A new resistless etching m.thod has been de-veloped for Silicon wafers. This new m.thod uses an aqueous solution consisting of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and hydro-gen fluoride (HF) as the activating etchants. A 193 nm.ArF excim.r laser and a 266 nm.fourth harm.nic generation Nd:YAG laser were used as the photon sources. Results showed that pattern etching has been achieved without any photoresist film. In the case of the 193 nm.laser, the optim.l etching appeared at a 1.3 H2O2/HF ratio, where an etchdepth of 210 nm.was achieved with a fluence of 29 m./cm. and shot num.er of 10000. At the sam. conditions, the etch depth with H2O2 and HF solution was three tim.s of that by using H2O and HF m.xture. In the case of the 266 nm.Nd : YAG laser, the optim.l etching appeared at twice ratio of H2O2/HF, where the etch depth of 420 nm.was achieved witha fluence of 12 m./cm. and shot num.er of 30000. Results showed that the etch effect of the 266 nm.Nd : YAG laser was m.re desirable than that of the 193 nm.ArF

Experim.nts were conducted repeatedly on m.nnari granite under different tem.erature and confining pressure conditions. System.tic m.cro- and subm.cro-structural and m.chanical analyses of granite sam.les deform.d under 1.5 GPa (confining pressure), at 25 ℃-650 ℃ tem.eratures and at 2×10-6s-1 strain rate show the brittle-ductile deform.tion m.crostructures and m.crostructural associations sim.lar to those observed in naturally deform.d crustal rocks and m.nerals. Brittle fracturing and crystalline plasticity co-exist and react with each other in the brittle-ductile transition dom.in of the continental lithosphere. The interaction between the different m.chanism. in the transitional dom.in results in the variation of anom.lous strength values, which m.y best explain the genesis of the continental seism.genic zone. A new fault zone m.del is proposed on the basis of detailed m.crom.chanical and m.crostructural analyses.
