Mass transfer characteristics of chiral pharmaceuticals on membrane used for polar organic chemical integrative sampler

Passive sampling technology has good application prospects for monitoring trace pollutants in aquatic *** research on the sampling mechanism of this technology is essential to improve the measurement accuracy and extend the application scope of this *** this study,adsorption and permeation experiments were performed to investigate the sorption and mass transfer properties of five chiral pharmaceuticals at the enantiomeric level on polyethersulfone(PES)and polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)membranes used in a polar organic chemical integrative *** adsorption experiments showed that the PES membrane had an adsorption phenomenon for most selected pollutants and an insignificant sorption behavior was observed for all selected pharmaceuticals on the PTFE membrane except for R(S)-*** diffusion coefficients of selected pharmaceuticals onto the PTFE membrane were approximately one order of magnitude higher than those onto the PES *** permeation experiment indicated that under different hydraulic conditions,the change of the relative pollutant concentration through the PTFE membrane for the composite pollutant system was more obvious than that for the single pollutant system,and mass transfer hysteresis exists for both contaminant systems through PES *** the first-order equation or 3-component model to estimate the overall mass transfer coefficients,the results showed that the overall mass transfer coefficient values of pollutants in the composite pollutant system onto both membranes were higher than those in the single pollutant *** parameter was mainly influenced by the synergistic effects of the multi-analyte interaction and diminished water boundary layers during the mass transfer process.

The change of geographical distribution of two Asian species of rhinoceros in Holocene

At present only five species of rhinoceros surrive in the world, among which three in Asia No wild rhinoceros has been found alive in East Asia now But many recent evidences reveal the fact that rhinoceros still lived not very long ago in the East Asian Continent of Holocene The attention to East Asia rhinoceros in Holocene first arose from archaeological studies on ancient ruins in china Archaeologists first found some subfossil skeletons of rhinoceros in ruins of Yin Dynasty in Anyang of Henan in the 1930s Then more skeletons of rhinoceros were found in many other Neolithic Ages runis, such as in Tonghai (Yunnan), Nanning (Guangxi), Xichuan (Henan), Yuyao (Zhejiang), and Haian (Jiangsu).(Guangxi Archaeological Team 1972; Jia 1977; Wu 1983; Huang and Liang 1984; Xu 1990). Moreover, zhou Benxiong reported some rhinoceros teeth containing residual organic matter found in caves in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River According to a number of very now skeletons of rhinoceros found in some caves in Central china and south china, Yang Zhongjian drew the inferences that rhinoceros might live in the southern part of china until in the Han Dynasty (about 2000 yrs B P ) at least These discoveries provided the material evidences for the distribution of rhinoceros in East Asian Continent Recently, some scholars brought forward more new information about Chinese rhinoceros from the analysis of historical records and investigations of unearthed cultural relics respectively (Wen and He 1981; Sun 1982). Based on the above materials and informations, this paper is going to deal with the species of rhinoceros once living in East Asia from the viewpoint of zoo geography At last, we brouhgt up the evolution process of the rhinoceros in distribution in Asia with comprehensive analysis of physiographical elements and human activities

Assessing the impact of interventions on the major Omicron BA.2 outbreak in spring 2022 in Shanghai

Heat waves associated with global warming and extreme climates would arouse serious consequences on nitrogen(N)***,the responses of the functional guilds to different temperatures,especially high temperature and the cascading effect on N_(2)O emissions remain *** incubation study was conducted to examine the effect of different temperatures(20°C,30°C,and 40°C)and fertilizer types(urea and manure)on N_(2)O-producers and N_(2)O-reducers,as well as the efficacy of dicyandiamide(DCD)on N_(2)O emissions in a vegetable *** showed that ammonia oxidizers and nirS-type denitrifiers were well adapted to high temperature(40°C)with manure application,while the fungal nirK-denitrifiers had better tolerance with urea *** nosZ clade I microbes had a strong adaptability to various temperatures regardless of fertilization type,while the growth of nosZ clade II group microbes in non-fertilized soil(control)were significantly inhibited at higher *** N_(2)O emissions were significantly decreased with increasing temperature and DCD application(up to 60%,even at 40°C).Under high temperature conditions,fungal denitrifiers play a significant role in N-limited soils(non-fertilized)while nirS-type denitrifiers was more important in fertilized soils in N_(2)O emissions,which should be specially targeted when mitigating N_(2)O emissions under global warming climate.

Reactive oxygen species(ROS)plays important roles in living *** ROS is a double-edged sword,which can eliminate drug-resistant bacteria,but excessive levels can cause oxidative damage to cells.A core–shell nanozyme,Ce O_(2)@ZIF-8/Au,has been crafted,spontaneously activating both ROS generating and scavenging functions,achieving the multifaceted functions of eliminating bacteria,reducing inflammation,and promoting wound *** Au Nanoparticles(NPs)on the shell exhibit high-efficiency peroxidase-like activity,producing ROS to kill ***,the encapsulation of Ce O_(2) core within ZIF-8 provides a seal for temporarily limiting the superoxide dismutase and catalase-like activities of Ce O_(2) ***,as the ZIF-8 structure decomposes in the acidic microenvironment,the Ce O_(2) core is gradually released,exerting its ROS scavenging activity to eliminate excess ROS produced by the Au *** two functions automatically and continuously regulate the balance of ROS levels,ultimately achieving the function of killing bacteria,reducing inflammation,and promoting wound *** innovative ROS spontaneous regulators hold immense potential for revolutionizing the field of antibacterial agents and therapies.

Rare earth fluorescent nanoprobes with minimal side effects enable tumor microenvironment activation for chemotherapy

Chemotherapy,the use of antitumor drugs to kill cancer cells,is currently one of the most effective treatments for ***,serious toxic side effects caused by long-term drug accumulation can cause significant damage to the body,which limits the clinical application of antitumor *** this study,a novel RENPs@DOX-Fe nanoprobe(NP) was constructed by coating the surface of rare earth nanomaterials(NaLuF_(4):Yb,Er) with a complex formed by doxorubicin(DOX) and iron ion(Ⅲ).Due to the low toxicity of anthracycline-metal complexes,the damage to normal cells is *** unique acidic microenvironment in tumor cells facilitates the decomposition and gradual release of DOX from the DOX-Fe *** addition,the DOX-Fe complex can convert near-infrared(NIR) light into heat energy,which promotes the decomposition of the complex,further enhancing the release of DOX in the tumor *** change of ratio fluorescence of rare earth nanomaterials at 660 and 1550 nm after DOX release enables visual monitoring of drug release,which can potentially improve the chemotherapeutic *** vitro experiments established that RENPs@DOX-Fe NPs with NIR illumination had good therapeutic efficacy in *** work provides new insights into designing tumor microenvironment-responsive nanoprobes for chemotherapy with minimal side effects.

Isorhamnetin Downregulates MMP2 and MMP9 to Inhibit Development of Rheumatoid Arthritis through SRC/ERK/CREB Pathway

The mixed distribution model is often used to extract information from heteroge-neous data and perform modeling *** the density function of mixed distribution is complicated or the variable dimension is high,it usually brings challenges to the parameter es-timation of the mixed distribution *** application of MM algorithm can avoid complex expectation calculations,and can also solve the problem of high-dimensional optimization by decomposing the objective *** this paper,MM algorithm is applied to the parameter estimation problem of mixed distribution *** method of assembly and decomposition is used to construct the substitute function with separable parameters,which avoids the problems of complex expectation calculations and the inversion of high-dimensional matrices.
