A total of 13 commercial hair dye products made in China were tested for mutagenicity in 2 short-term bioassays, the histidine-requiring mutants of Salmonella typhimurium (strains TA98 and TA100) and the micronucleus test with mouse bone-marrow polychromatic erythrocyte cells in vivo. The results showed that the 13 hair dyes were not mutagenic in strains TA98 and TA100 with and without S-9. In the micronucleus test, no mutagenic effect was observed.

CaWO4 phosphor activated by the Tm^3＋/Yb^3＋, Er^3＋/Yb^3＋ and Ho^3＋/Yb^3＋ ions were synthesized by a traditional high-temperature solid-state method. The crystal structures and morphologies of the products were characterized by X-ray powders diffraction method （XRD）, infrared spectra （FT-IR） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. The samples were found to show up-conversion luminescence properties. CaWO4 doped with Tm^3＋/Yb^3＋ showed blue luminescence characteristic of Tm（Ⅲ） ion in the range of 460-485 urn, corresponding to the ^1G4→^3H6 electronic transition. CaWO4 doped with Er^3＋/Yb^3＋ showed strong green luminescence at 510-565 nm （^2H11/2, ^4S3/2→^4I15/2） and weak red luminescence at 640-685 nm （^4F9/2→^4I15/2） of Er（Ⅲ） ion. CaWO4 doped with Ho^3＋/Yb^3＋ phosphor emitted green luminescence at 525-560 nm （5S2, 5F4→518） and red luminescence at 6304i70 um （SFs→518） and at 730-770 nm （^5S2, ^5F4→^5I7）, which is the characteristic of Ho（Ⅲ） ion.

Objective： This article aimed to evaluate the effects of an educational intervention programme on improving peer educator （PE） knowledge in issues around growth and development and its risk behavior problems of adolescents in Indonesia. Methods： The study was conducted in 31 of PEs to evaluate their knowledge in adolescents. The PEs received health education and were assessed by individual work during the structured three-week programme. Data were collected before and after the training programme as pre- and post-tests. Results： The PE demonstrated significant improvements in their knowledge after attending the three-week structured training programme. The post-test scores had significant effects on the dimensions of PE knowledge scores. The PE become knowledgeable to maintain and monitor adolescents health issues around growth and development and its risk behavior problems of adolescents. Conclusions： The PE become knowledgeable to respond to the adolescent problems and readiness to become PE during puberty.

Luminescence study of europium(III) tris(β-diketonato)/phosphonate complexes in chloroform

The extraction of Eu（Ⅲ） with β-diketone, HA, and monodentate or bidentate Lewis bases, B, into chloroform and the luminescence properties of the extracted species were studied. Pivaloyltrifluoroacetone, Hpta, and 2-thenoyltfifluoroacetone, Htta, were used as the β-diketones. The Lewis bases, B, were tetraethyl methylene diphosphonate, POPO, which was bidentate, and diethyl benzylphosphonate, PhPO which was monodentate. Based on the extraction data, the stability constants, log β, of the first complexes between tfis（β-diketonato）Eu（Ⅲ） and the phosphonate, EuA3B, were determined to be 6.0 for the POPO complex and 3.40 for the PhPO complex. The Eu（Ⅲ） luminescence intensity in the EuA3POPO was larger than EuA3 where A was either pta or tta at similar concentrations of Eu（Ⅲ）, while that in Eu（pta）3PhPO was stronger than EuA3; however, in Eu（tta）3PhPO, it was weaker than Eu（tta）3. The POPO functions as a sensitizer, and the PhPO functions as a quencher for the tta chelate and as a sensitizer for the pta chelate. From the lifetime and quantum yield, φ, of the Eu（Ⅲ） luminescence in the complexes as well as the observation of the extractability of Eu（Ⅲ） with the Hpta and the phosphonates and of the luminescence spectra of the complexes, it was confirmed that the extraction of Eu（Ⅲ） was remarkably enhanced with a β-diketonate and a strong Lewis base, and also the ternary complex that was formed as the extracted species, showed luminescence enhancement. This phenomenon may be due the formation of a strong bond between the Eu（Ⅲ） and the strong Lewis base leading to more hydrophobicity in the extracted species and also to more effective energy transfer from the Lewis base to the Eu（Ⅲ）. It was not significant whether the donor atoms were N or O.

This study presents direct 2D and 3D co-culture model of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)line with chondrocytes isolated from patients with osteoarthritis(unaffected area).MSCs differentiation into chondrocytes after 14,17 days was checked by estimation of collagen Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅹ,aggrecan expression using ***,localization of cells on Hyaff-11 was performed using enzymatic technique and THUNDER Imaging *** showed,that MSCs/chondrocytes 3D co-culture induced suitable conditions for chondrocytes grow and MSCs differentiation than 2D *** that differentiated cells on Hyaff-11 expressed collagen Ⅹ,they showed high collagen Ⅱ(80%)and aggrecan(60%)expression with simultaneous decrease of collagen Ⅰ expression(10%).The high concentration of differentiated cells on Hyaff-11,indicate that this structure has an impact on cells cooperation and *** conclusion,we suggest that high expression of collagen Ⅱ and aggrecan in 3D co-culture model,indicate that cooperation between different subpopulations may have synergistic impact on MSCs chondrogenic *** the high concentration and localization of cells growing in deeper layers of membrane in 3D co-culture,indicate that induced microenvironmental enhance cell migration within ***,we suggest that co-culture model might be useful for construction a bioactive structure for cartilage tissue regeneration.

Aggregations of juveniles are dominant forms of social life in some insect *** societies are shaped by competitive and cooperative interactions of the larvae,in parallel with parental *** of necrophagous larvae are excellent systems to study these *** littoralis(Staphylinidae:Silphinae),a carrion beetle that colonizes cadavers of large vertebrates,forms massive juvenile *** spreading over carrion anal and oral exudates,the beetles form the feeding matrix,in which the heat is produced and by which adults presumably affect the fitness of the *** predict that exploitative competition shapes the behavior of *** larvae in their ***,cooperative interactions may also operate in these systems due mainly to the benefits of collective ***,indirect parental effects(i.e.,formation of the feeding matrix)probably modulate larval interactions within the *** manipulating parental effects(present/absent)and larval density(0.02−1.9 larvae/g of meat),we found a strong negative group-size effect on fitness components of ***,in colonies with parental effects over almost the entire density range,and in colonies without parental effects for densities larger than 0.5 larva/*** was accompanied by positive group-size effects in terms of development time(it shortened with larval density)and thermogenesis(it increased with larval density).A pronounced positive group-size effect on juvenile fitness was found only in colonies without parental effects and only in the low-density *** results support the hypothesis that larval societies of *** are shaped by exploitation competition.

Calcium tungstate phosphors activated by the Ln3＋ ions （Ln-Pr, Nd, Tb, Yb） were synthesized by a traditional high-temperature solid-state method. The crystal structures and morphologies of the products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, X-ray powders diffraction （XRD） and infrared spectra （FT-1R）. The samples were fotmd to show luminescence properties （down-conversion, DC, at excitation wavelength 254 nm and up-conversion, UC, at excitation wavelength 980 nm）. CaWO4 doped with Tb3＋/yb3＋ showed green DC and UC luminescence characteristic of Tb（Ⅲ） ion in the range of 470-660 nm, cor- responding to the 5D4→7F6,5,4,3,2 electronic transition. CaWO4 doped with Pr3＋/Yb3＋ showed week blue, green and red （DC and UC） luminescence of Pr（Ⅲ） ion, in the wavelength region of 450-700 nm. Emission peaks were ascribed to the 3P1→3H4,5,6, 3P0→3H4,5,6, 3P1→3F2 and 3P0→3F2 transitions, respectively. CaWO4 doped with Nd3＋/yb3＋ phosphor emitted orange UC luminescence at 450-690 nm （2p3/2→4I15/2, 4G7/2→419/2,11/2,13/2） and strong near-infrared UC luminescence at 720-900 nm （4F7/2＋4S3/2→4419/2, 4F5/2＋2H3/2→419/2, 4F3/2→4I9/2） which is the characteristic of Nd（Ⅲ） ion.

The title compound, N-（2-（1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl）phenyl）-2,3-dimethylaniline, was synthesized and studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. The structure of the product was confirmed by IR, ^1H- and ^13C-NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and mass spectrometry. These experimental studies were supported by theoretical optimizations.

The title compound, methyl 2-（diphenylamino）-4-phenyl-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylate, was synthesized and studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. The structure of the product was confirmed by IR, 1H- and 13C-NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. These experimental studies were supported by quantum mechanical calculations. The structure was solved in monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 9.573（3）, b = 19.533（7）, c = 9.876（3）, β = 92.35（4）°, V = 1845.2（10）3, T = 85（2） K, Z = 4, R = 0.040 and wR = 0.089 for 6424 observed reflections with I2σ（I）.
